Chapter 65 I Won't Let Her Off the Hook

Riley wasn't familiar with nearby restaurants, so she had Harper recommend one and took the two kids there directly.

While they were eating, Dalton sent a message.

Dalton: [Dr. Monroe, do you need treatment tonight?]

Riley suddenly remembered that she hadn't explained the treatment process to him and replied.

Riley: [Elder Master is still a bit weak, so the treatment shouldn't be too frequent. We've already had two consecutive days of treatment. Let's let Elder Master rest for a day, and I'll come by tomorrow. Sorry, I forgot to tell you.]

Dalton replied promptly.

Dalton: [Okay, I'll be waiting for you.]

Landon and Winston saw Mommy still messaging while eating and curiously asked, "Mommy, is everything okay?"

Riley smiled and handed Landon and Winston two glasses of juice. "It's nothing, a previous patient asked if I could go over."

Upon hearing this, Landon and Winston nodded understandingly, and each fetched drinks and food for Mommy, saying, "Mommy, you've worked hard, so please eat a bit more."

Seeing how considerate Landon and Winston were, Riley's heart softened.

They had a very pleasant meal.

After dinner, Riley took Landon and Winston to the counter to pay.

Just as they arrived at the counter, they saw two people walking towards them.

Hollis and Mia were walking arm in arm, chatting and laughing as they entered the restaurant.

Riley couldn't help but slow her pace, scanning the surroundings to find a way to avoid the two. After all, Hollis had always been hostile towards her.

Hollis had held a grudge against her for a long time, even going as far as joining forces with many herbal medicine merchants in H City to collectively boycott her research institute. Mia, on the other hand, had only looked down on her medical skills and repeatedly mocked her.

From the looks of it, Hollis and Mia seemed quite close.

Riley had no doubt that Mia would stand united with Hollis. Normally, Riley might have just ignored them and walked past like they didn't exist. But now, with the two kids in tow, she didn't want to argue in front of them.

Just as Riley was about to take a detour with the kids, Mia's hostile voice rang out from a distance. "Dr. Monroe, what a coincidence, you're here for dinner too?"

Riley furrowed her brow, not wanting to engage. Landon and Winston thought Riley hadn't heard and tugged at her sleeve, "Mommy, someone's calling you."

Riley had to stop and turn around calmly to meet Mia's gaze. "Indeed, quite a coincidence, but I've finished eating, so I won't disturb you. I'll be on my way."

With that, Riley intended to take Landon and Winston past them to settle the bill.

Hollis frowned and asked Mia, "Do you know her?"

Mia nodded, glanced at the three approaching them, and said disdainfully, "Don't say that. There's a difference in status between me and Dr. Monroe. Dr. Monroe's medical skills are so amazing; many were helpless with my grandfather's condition, but after a few needles from Dr. Monroe, my grandfather woke up. Now, Dr. Monroe is the most respected guest in my brother's eyes, with a much higher status than me."

Upon hearing this, Hollis's expression changed slightly. "What did you say? Why did you invite her to treat Grandpa Benedict?"

Mia sneered, "We didn't invite her; she came on her own. As for the reason, I think she must have her eyes on our family's herbs. After all, my grandfather just woke up, and my brother already signed a contract with her."

Then, she glared at Riley displeasingly. "She doesn't even know her place. My brother mentioned it once, and she readily agreed. Now that the contract is signed, if anything happens to my grandfather, I won't let her off the hook!"
