Chapter 124: Who Hurt Her So Badly

Riley instructed the two little ones to take care of Finley while she went to prepare dinner for them.

She carefully noted down all the precautions Donovan mentioned earlier and made the meal according to Finley's preferences.

Once the meal was ready, Riley called Landon and Winston to bring Finley downstairs.

Soon, the three little figures emerged at the top of the stairs. The two boys held Finley's hands on either side, assisting her as they descended the stairs slowly, looking like princess and princes from a fairy tale.

Upon seeing them, Riley felt a warmth in her heart, but then she thought about Finley's current condition and was overcome with sorrow.

At the dining table, Landon and Winston considerately allowed Finley to sit next to their mother, while they took seats on the other side of her.

Riley lovingly patted the heads of the two children and then sat down beside Finley, attentively feeding her.

Perhaps because the food suited her taste, Finley ate cooperatively.

After dinner, Riley sent Landon and Winston to their room and took Finley to her bedroom to give her a bath personally.

Finley let her undress her without any reaction.

As soon as Riley took off Finley's pants, she was shocked by what she saw.

Finley's delicate and tender bottom was marked with bruises, displaying horrifying handprints.

Riley's eyes quivered, and her heart ached as she caressed the child's face. "Does it hurt a lot?" she asked gently. Finley's eyes reflected confusion.

Feeling weighed down, Riley fell silent for a few moments before speaking softly, "Let's be gentle, Finley. We'll take a bath first and then call Daddy."

She then quickly bathed Finley, changed her clothes, and settled her on the bed before stepping out to call Donovan.

He answered quickly, "What's wrong? Is Finley causing trouble for you?"

Riley's tone was serious. "Is Finley's autism really triggered because Landon and Winston were expelled?"

Hearing this, Donovan frowned slightly. "What do you mean?"

Riley realized that he might not be aware of the situation either. Feeling both saddened and frustrated by Donovan's neglect of the child, her voice conveyed a touch of displeasure. "You should come and see for yourself!”

After saying that, she hung up the phone.

Realizing that he might not be aware of the situation, Riley felt both saddened and frustrated by Donovan's neglect of the child. Her voice carried a hint of displeasure as she said, "You should come and see for yourself!

"Mr. Wilder, you don't know where Finley's injuries came from, do you?" Riley pulled down Finley's pants to show him the bruises on the little one's bottom.

Seeing the bruises, Donovan's face darkened instantly, a storm brewing in his eyes.

Clearly, he had just learned about this.

Riley frowned, "What exactly is going on? Your daughter is so badly injured, and you don't even know?"

Donovan shook his head. "I haven't had the chance to speak with her, and I've been swamped with work lately. Cole has been looking after her, and I trust that he wouldn't do anything like that."

Riley also believed that Cole wouldn't be involved in such a situation, but she urged Donovan to contact her. "In that case, Cole should have more information. Please call her and inquire.”

Donovan then called Paxton to bring Cole over.

"Do you know what happened with these injuries?"

Upon noticing the bruises on Finley, Cole's face filled with concern. "What happened? She was fine just the other day! Who could be so cruel as to hurt Finley like this?"

Donovan's expression turned colder. "So, this occurred yesterday.”
