Chapter 95 Auntie, Don't Leave

Seeing Riley and Finley standing together, Auntie Cole became increasingly nostalgic for the old days. With the idea of letting them be alone, she said a few words and quietly left.
For a moment, only the three of them remained in the living room.
Donovan looked at Riley and Finley in front of him, his eyes deep and unreadable.
Sensing Donovan's gaze, Riley shifted slightly, carrying Finley to the edge of the sofa, intending to put her down.
Sensing Riley's intention, Finley showed resistance in her big eyes, gripping her shoulder tightly.
Seeing this, Riley sat down on the sofa with Finley in her arms and said softly, "Finley, you're sick and need to take a rest early. Would you like me to help you sleep?"
Finley buried her head in Riley's neck, silently shaking her head.
Riley showed concern. "Don't you want to sleep?"
Finley nodded in Riley's arms, then turned in her embrace, reaching out to the notebook on the table.
Riley leaned over to get the notebook, and handed it to Finley, watching her write on it.
"If I fall asleep, you'll leave. I don't want you to go."
Finley finished writing and pursed her lips, looking reluctant.
Seeing the words in the notebook, Riley's eyes flashed with surprise.
'Is Finley so dependent on me?' she thought.
On the side, Donovan glanced at what Finley had written, then looked at Riley and said in a deep voice, "Auntie Riley has to go home. You need to sleep."
Upon hearing her father's words, Finley pouted and turned to Riley for confirmation.
Riley nodded.
Landon and Winston were still waiting for her at home. Although Auntie Anderson was taking care of them, Riley still couldn't help but worry.
Moreover, Riley didn't know how would she feel spending the night in this house where she had lived for several years.
Seeing Riley's agreement, Finley sadly lowered her gaze. Her small hands constantly fidgeting with Riley's clothes, almost crumpling them.
Seeing Finley's sad expression, Riley's heart was filled with compassion.
After a while, Finley finally let go of her clothes.
Riley thought Finley had agreed to go to sleep obediently, but then she saw her pick up the notebook again.
"Let Daddy bring the brothers over. Auntie Riley, don't leave me."
After writing this, Finley turned back pitifully and hugged Riley's neck tightly.
Finley's warm body temperature made it hard for Riley to refuse.
After a while, Riley sighed inwardly and compromised. "Alright, I won't leave. You can sleep now."
Upon hearing this, Finley lifted her head, her watery eyes still filled with doubt.
Riley patted her head. "I'm here with you. Go to sleep now."
Only then did Finley snuggle back into Riley's arms, leaning on her shoulder and falling asleep. Even in her sleep, her little hand held onto Riley's clothes tightly, afraid she might sneak away.
Riley looked at Finley in her arms, feeling a sense of tenderness.
Seeing Riley and Finley on the sofa, Donovan's eyes darkened slightly. He approached and sat on the single sofa next to Riley, instructing the butler to pour them two cups of tea. Then he took out his phone and started working remotely.
Donovan wasn't lying about needing to work overtime. He had indeed been incredibly busy lately.
For a moment, the living room fell into a peaceful silence.
Listening to Finley's even breathing in her arms, Riley quietly asked the butler for a small blanket to wrap her.
Sensing warm in her sleep, Finley turned over in Riley's arms.
Riley carefully wiped the sweat off Finley, her eyes filled with warmth.
