Chapter 59 Can't You Speak Nicely?

Donovan didn't have much experience in comforting children. In the past, when Finley threw a tantrum, it was Cole who would comfort her.

Now, seeing his daughter crying in front of Riley, a hint of panic flashed through Donovan's mind. In the end, he commanded with a stern face, "Stop crying."

He thought this sentence didn't carry much emotion.

However, to Finley's ears, it sounded harsh.

After Donovan finished speaking, Finley cried even harder. Tears streamed down her face in a continuous line, her head lowered, and she sobbed non-stop, nearly unable to catch her breath.

Donovan frowned, unsure how to respond in this moment.

Seeing the little girl cry like this, Donovan, as a father, seemed indifferent. Riley couldn't watch it any longer.

"Is this how you treat a child? The child is crying like this, and you still speak to her in that tone? Can't you speak nicely?"

Donovan was suddenly scolded by her and couldn't help but be taken aback.

Riley had already walked over to Finley, crouched down and hugged the little girl into her arms, her voice gentle, "Good girl, stop crying. If you like, you can come and play with Auntie and Landon and Winston anytime. Auntie will give you contact information, just give Auntie a call when you come. Don't cry."

Beside them, Landon and Winston had already prepared tissues, waiting at the side.

Riley comforted and wiped away the little girl's tears with a tissue.

Finley was soothed by Riley and stopped crying, snuggling into her arms.

Riley hugged the child with a tender heart and gently patted her back.

Landon and Winston, seeing Finley crying like this, also felt angry. They stared at the man nearby with their big eyes, filled with resentment.

"Why won't you let your daughter be friends with us?" Landon couldn't help but question. "We haven't done anything to her, have we? Both times she got lost, it was our mommy who took care of her well. Me and my little brother played with her and she enjoyed it. We're not bad people, so why can't she be friends with us?"

Donovan didn't expect this child to dare to lecture him. With a serious face, he didn't know how to react.

He didn't want Finley to be friends with them solely because of another concern, but this child seemed very tough.

"Finley didn't have many friends at kindergarten to begin with. Only me and my brother don't mind her and let her join us. Previously, when she was bullied at kindergarten, it was me and my brother who helped her. If she doesn't become friends with us, do you want her to be all alone at kindergarten?" Winston questioned angrily.

Two children in a row were questioning him like this.

Donovan's heart felt complicated.

Seeing him remain silent for a while, the two children thought they had guessed his thoughts and felt even more frustrated.

Landon held it in for a while, but still spoke his mind. "We protect her and play with her. But now you're guarding against us like this, what do you think of us?"

Hearing his brother's words, Winston vigorously nodded and the two children glared at the man in front of them, feeling upset.

This man in front of them was their father.

However, this person had abandoned their mommy even before they were born.

And now, he didn't even like the two of them and didn't allow his daughter to be friends with them.
