Chapter 89 They're Not Married Yet

As they went downstairs, Mr. Benedict Senior asked Riley if he could get out of bed now, and after getting permission, Dalton and the butler helped him down together.
Riley sat at the dining table with lowered eyes, pretending to be indifferent, trying to minimize her presence.
Mia, on the other hand, seemed deliberately bringing up some topics, first asking Hollis, then asking Riley.
Due to Mr. Benedict Senior's presence, Riley responded to all of them.
Soon, the butler's greeting came from the door.
"Mr. Wilder."
It was immediately followed by Donovan's low, brief response.
After a moment, Donovan's tall figure appeared in front of everyone.
"Grandpa Benedict," Donovan first greeted Mr. Benedict Senior, then glanced around the dining table, pausing briefly when he saw Riley.
Meeting Donovan's gaze, Riley secretly pinched her palm, calmly nodding to him as a greeting.
Seeing this, Donovan raised an eyebrow slightly and tugged at his lip in response.
"Donovan, please sit. Hollis has been waiting for you for a while."
Mia warmly greeted, gesturing for Donovan to sit next to Hollis.
Just now, Mia, under the guise of thanking Riley in the name of Mr. Benedict Senior, had Riley sit next to Mr. Benedict Senior. Mia and Dalton sat close to Riley.
The only seat left for Donovan was next to Hollis.
Seeing Donovan arrive, Hollis, aware that she was not as close to Mr. Benedict Senior as Donovan, stood up and offered the seat next to him.
This way, Donovan sat face-to-face with Riley.
Seeing Donovan sitting opposite her, Riley's heart tightened, silently lowering her gaze.
During the meal, Riley ate quietly, only speaking softly when Mr. Benedict Senior addressed her.
Hollis, on the other hand, concerned about Donovan's attitude toward Riley. While attentively passed food to Mr. Benedict Senior, she kept an eye on Donovan, afraid that he might pay too much attention to Riley, and occasionally spoke to him.
Riley had no idea about Hollis' thoughts, and hearing their conversation, she felt that they were indeed a family. She felt somewhat uncomfortable.
Mia glanced at Riley, surprised to see her so calm and deliberately acted coquettish with Hollis. "You and Donovan get along so well. When are you two getting married? I'm still waiting to be a bridesmaid!"
As the words fell, Riley stopped in astonishment.
'What did that mean? Donovan and Hollis haven't been married?' she thought.
Hollis' smile froze for a moment, not expecting Mia to bring up this matter in front of so many people, thinking about how to divert the topic.
Mr. Benedict Senior also looked concerned. "Indeed, you two have been together for so many years. Finley is already grown up. It's time to settle down."
"Speaking of which, you two should have settled down long ago. I don't know why it's been dragging on until now," Dalton joked.
For a moment, everyone's gaze was on Donovan, waiting for his response.
However, Donovan did not answer immediately. He just glanced lightly at Riley across from him.
Although Donovan's gaze was fleeting, it was still impossible to ignore.
Riley pinched her palm, suppressing the doubts in her heart, and calmly met Donovan's gaze.
Their eyes met for a moment, and seeing Riley's indifferent expression, Donovan frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure crossing his mind.
