Chapter 260 Reminded Her Again
When they got back to the room, it was already past nine.
Landon and Winston were sweaty from playing hide-and-seek.
Riley took the kids for a bath right away.
Finley could hear Riley, Landon, and Winston laughing from the bathroom from time to time.
Finley sat on the bed, staring at the bathroom door, looking envious.
When she lived with Riley, Riley often bathed her. After Donovan took her back, Olivia did it.
She remembered how gentle Riley was and how nice the body wash smelled.
Donovan saw Finley's eager face and felt conflicted.
Finley seemed too attached to Riley. Or maybe it was just a strong mother-daughter bond?
After a while, Riley came out with Landon and Winston, their hair still wet, still playing around.
Riley grabbed a hairdryer to dry their hair.
Donovan's deep voice came from the side, "Could you also bathe Finley?"
Riley froze for a moment.
"Riley!" Finley looked at her hopefully.
Donovan explained, "As a man, it's really inconvenient for me to bathe Finley. I hope you don't mind."
Seeing Finley's hopeful face, Riley softened and agreed.
But Landon and Winston's hair was still wet.
"Wait a moment. I'll dry their hair first."
Riley turned on the hairdryer.
But Donovan reached out and took it from her.
Riley glanced back at Donovan, who had walked up beside her at some point.
"If you don't mind, I can handle this. Finley was sweating earlier, and I don't want her to catch a cold." Donovan turned on the hairdryer and started drying the boys' hair.
Seeing Donovan drying their hair, the boys quieted down.
Winston played with his fingers, trying not to look at his dad.
Landon sat up straight, staring ahead seriously.
Riley worried the boys might resist Donovan, but seeing them cooperate, she took Finley to the bathroom.
Finley was lively while Riley bathed her.
Riley remembered bathing Finley when she stayed at her house before.
Then she thought about why Donovan took Finley away and felt emotional.
The woman's words earlier reminded Riley.
Regardless of Finley's reliance on her, in the future, Finley was destined to become Hollis's daughter.
She couldn't let Donovan get close to her just because of Finley.
After bathing Finley, they came out to find Landon and Winston's hair dry. They were on the bed, playing with a computer.
Riley didn't disturb them and dried Finley's hair.
Donovan stood nearby, noticing Riley seemed colder than before. He realized she didn't want to talk to him.
Donovan frowned but didn't push it, standing silently by the window.
The room felt tense.
