Chapter 210 Would You Like to Have a Drink Together?

Riley was worried about the kids at home, but Harper assured her she had already told Sophie.

They arrived at the bar entrance.

Riley followed Harper inside.

Harper was clearly a regular. As soon as they walked in, someone greeted them and led them to a booth near the dance floor.

With the thumping music and vibrant crowd, Riley started to loosen up.

"It's on me! Let's drink till we drop!" Harper shouted in her ear.

Harper popped open an expensive bottle of wine and poured a glass for Riley. "There are plenty of good men out there!"

Riley clinked glasses with Harper and downed her drink in one go.

Harper smiled, pleased. She knew from college that Riley could hold her liquor.

Harper was ready to keep Riley company all night to lift her spirits.

After a few drinks, Riley began to relax.

But Harper wanted more than just drinking. She put down her glass and grabbed Riley's hand. "Let's go dance!"

Without waiting for a response, she pulled Riley onto the dance floor.

They hadn't dressed for clubbing, so they looked more conservative compared to the other women.

Still, their attractive faces drew attention.

Riley wore a knee-length dress, showing just a bit of her smooth calf. Under the flashing lights, she swayed to the beat, her face with a faint smile, her eyes downcast, her movements awkward yet charming.

Harper, on the other hand, was more uninhibited. As she danced, she wandered through the crowd, keen on finding someone better than Donovan for Riley. While searching, she inadvertently navigated into the midst of the crowd. Upon turning back, she realized she had lost track of where Riley was in the commotion.

Harper's expression changed. She stopped dancing and started searching for Riley.

"Hey, looking for someone?" a man asked flirtatiously.

Harper didn't even look at him. "Don't block my way. I'm in a hurry!"

Meanwhile, Riley had seen Harper head into the crowd. Her calls to Harper were drowned out by the music of the bar, leaving her helplessly watching Harper disappear before her eyes.

Riley thought about going in to find her, but seeing a couple making out, she stopped.

After a moment, she went back to the booth, thinking Harper would return if she couldn't find her.

Riley wasn't into clubbing anyway, so she sat down to rest.

Just as she sat down, a cheerful male voice spoke in her ear. "Hi, mind if I join you for a drink?"

In the noisy bar, the man's voice was faint.

Riley almost thought she imagined it. She looked up and saw a man in a casual shirt with a gentle face and was momentarily stunned.

Meeting Riley's gaze, a hint of admiration flashed in the man's eyes. Knowing she couldn't hear him, he repeated loudly, "Can I join you for a drink? If it's okay, I'd like to make a new friend."
