Chapter 436 There Is Nothing To Be Disappointed About
Hearing Dalton's suggestion, Donovan's face relaxed a bit.
He knew Riley well enough to know that traditional medicine was her thing. If there was a chance like this, she'd definitely stay in the country and try to work with the Jones family.
"So, what do you think of my idea?" Dalton asked, grinning like he wanted a pat on the back.
Donovan just smirked. "Not bad. If you can keep her here, I'll owe you one."
Donovan figured if Dalton brought it up, it would seem more legit. The Wilder Group wasn't into pharmaceuticals and had no ties with the Jones family, so he couldn't even get a foot in the door. Plus, if he mentioned it to Riley, she might turn it down just because it came from him.
Dalton raised an eyebrow. "Forget the favor. Just make sure to get me a nice gift when you two tie the knot."
With that, he got up and left before Donovan could say anything.
Leaving the Wilder Group, Dalton didn't head back to the office. Instead, he went straight to the Benedict Estate. It would be more convincing if Daniel talked to Riley about it; she wouldn't overthink it.
When he got home, Daniel was doing some exercises with the help of a caregiver. Seeing Dalton back so early, Daniel looked puzzled. "Why are you back so soon? Everything okay at the company?"
Dalton took over from the caregiver, helping Daniel with his arm exercises, and smiled. "Grandpa, I need to talk to you about something."
Daniel nodded. "Go ahead."
"The Jones family is holding a free clinic soon. Could you talk to them and get Dr. Monroe a spot?" Dalton asked.
Daniel had some connections with the Jones family and could probably swing it.
Daniel nodded. "I was already considering it."
The Benedict family, with its long history, valued traditional medicine a lot. Over the years, besides the Jones family, Riley was the only young person Daniel had seen making significant strides in traditional medicine. Naturally, he didn't want to miss out on such talent. Plus, he knew how much this opportunity would mean to her.
As soon as he heard about the Jones family's free clinic, Daniel had thought of getting Riley involved.
Seeing that Daniel was on the same page, Dalton felt relieved and cautiously added, "And... about the collaboration slots once the Jones family sets up their research institute..."
Daniel immediately caught on and gave him a knowing look. "Do you have feelings for Dr. Monroe?"
Dalton was speechless. He only admired Riley, nothing more. Besides, Riley was Donovan's girl. How could he have any thoughts about her? Yet, everyone seemed to think otherwise, leaving him baffled.
Seeing Dalton's reaction, Daniel realized he had overthought it and smiled. "I get it, but it's up to the Jones family to choose their partners. I can't influence that."
Dalton quickly agreed. "I just wanted to give you a heads-up. I was worried that if it came down to a choice between the Benedict family and Dr. Monroe's institute, and the Benedict family wasn't picked, you might be disappointed."
Daniel smiled. "Dr. Monroe is talented, and it's the Jones family's call. There's nothing to be disappointed about."
Seeing Daniel so chill about it, Dalton felt completely at ease. "Then I'll leave it to you to talk to Dr. Monroe."
Daniel nodded in agreement.
