Chapter 81 This Man is Too Dominating
The three little ones glanced at each other, then all put down their LEGO pieces and ran into the kitchen.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Landon and Winston looked at their mom with concern.
Riley belatedly came to her senses and, seeing the two little guys in front of her, felt even more uneasy.
She suppressed the emotions deep in her heart, smiled, and shook her head at the., "It's nothing. Mommy accidentally dropped a bowl, and it broke. Don't come in; there's broken glass on the floor."
Saying that, she nonchalantly crouched down to clean up the mess, her mind still in chaos. Even when picking up the glass, she was distracted.
Donovan stood behind the three little ones, watching the woman crouched on the ground, his eyes slightly darkened.
Whether it was his illusion or not, this woman seemed to have something on her mind.
Riley kept her head down, faintly feeling the man's gaze on her, making her feel uneasy and increasingly confused.
In a moment of carelessness, she inadvertently grasped the sharp edge of a fragment. A sharp pain shot through her fingertips.
Riley suddenly came to her senses, unconsciously taking a sharp breath.
"Mommy!"
"Auntie!"
The three little ones watched as blood dripped from Riley's fingertip, calling out in distress.
Landon and Winston were about to go in when a tall figure passed by them.
Moments later, they saw Dad squatting beside Mommy with a cold face, holding Mommy's wrist in his large hand.
Seeing this, the two little ones involuntarily stopped in their tracks.
"What are you thinking?" The man's voice sounded somewhat displeased.
Riley looked blankly at the large hand covering hers, a bit slow to react. The next moment, she was encircled at the waist, half lifted up. When she came to her senses, she was already standing by the sink.
The man turned on the faucet with a stern face, rinsing her injured finger under the cold water.
"Wait outside, don't come in," Donovan instructed the three little ones at the door.
Although the little ones were worried about Riley, seeing Donovan taking care of her, they nodded in agreement.
Donovan then turned back, seeing that the blood on the woman's hand had been washed clean. He took out a clean handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped it around her injured finger to stop the bleeding.
"Thank you." Riley came to her senses, looking down and trying to pull her hand out of his grip. "I can handle the rest myself."
The man furrowed his brow slightly, increasing the strength in his hand.
Riley pulled a bit but couldn't free herself, feeling a bit annoyed.
Donovan had already had a child with another woman, and even Finley was watching nearby.
Riley really didn't want to be so close to him.
Besides, Donovan only harbored hatred towards her, so why bother caring about her?
With these thoughts in mind, Riley frowned and looked at the person in front of her with resistance in her eyes.
But Donovan clearly had no intention of avoiding suspicion; as if he hadn't seen Riley's resistance, he said in a deep voice, "Let me help you with the medicine."
With that, he was about to lead her out.
Riley gritted her teeth, "You don't need to bother; it's getting late; you take Finley back; I can handle the rest myself."
As soon as she finished speaking, the person in front of her paused.
Riley vaguely sensed that there seemed to be a hint of displeasure emanating from Donovan, but the next second, it disappeared without a trace.
"You injured your right hand; how can you apply the medicine yourself?" Donovan suppressed the dark emotions in his heart, and without looking back, he led the person out.
The three little ones followed closely beside them.
Meeting their concerned gazes, Riley ultimately didn't struggle anymore, just feeling a bit helpless inside.
Donovan was just too domineering.
