Chapter 107 Free English Teacher

Kelly exclaimed, "Oh, it's not what I thought it was. Then what is it? You've been coming back with Alexander these days, and you say there's nothing?"

Lillian, eating her meal, said, "It's just that there are things to do."

"Having things to do is good. The more you interact, the more feelings will develop," Kelly said as she ladled soup into Lillian's bowl.

Lillian shook her head and smiled helplessly. She knew Kelly meant well and wanted Alexander to have someone who truly cared for him, but she really wasn't the person he liked.

"Lillian, are you done eating?" Lucas ran in, knelt on the chair, and asked, "Alexander asked you to find him in the study when you're done."

"Okay, I got it," Lillian said, taking big bites of her food.

Lucas, with his little hands supporting his chin and eyes full of longing, asked, "Lillian, when will you be done? I want to go to the amusement park."

Lillian hesitated, not daring to give him a definite date, and said, "Before your school starts, I'll take you once, okay? I'm really sorry, I've been very busy lately."

Lucas obediently agreed, "Okay. Oscar told me today that you work very hard every day and are very tired, so I should care more about you. Lillian, I'll wash an apple for you."

Seeing how understanding he was, Lillian felt very touched. Even Kelly, who was beside them, praised Lucas for growing up.

Lucas washed five apples, just enough to fill a plate. He brought them to the dining table, giving one each to Lillian and Kelly. The remaining three were for the other men in the house.

After Lucas delivered the apples, Lillian and Kelly ate theirs with satisfaction.

"Kelly, Lucas has grown a year older. He's so different now. Look how well-behaved he is," Lillian said happily, munching on her apple.

Kelly, with not-so-good teeth, took a small bite and said, "It's because you and Alexander taught him well. He wasn't this well-behaved before."

Lillian smiled proudly, "I'm just exchanging sincerity for sincerity!"

Kelly put the apple on the table, looked at her, and asked, "So when are you and Alexander going to have a child? Boy or girl, it doesn't matter. While I'm still in good health, I can help you take care of them. Hiring a nanny from the market is not the same as having a family member. I wouldn't feel at ease."

Lillian laughed at Kelly's serious expression, "Kelly, you sound like Alexander's mom."

Kelly, taken aback, quickly slapped her hand away and said sternly, "Don't say that!"

"Kelly, you take such good care of Alexander, looking after his daily needs, just like a real mom."

"That's disrespectful. You shouldn't talk about my employer like that," Kelly said, her face slightly stern.

Lillian didn't dare joke anymore. "Okay, I won't say it."

Kelly stood up to clear the dishes and urged her, "Finish eating and go to the study to find Alexander. Don't keep him waiting too long."

"I'll bring him a cup of coffee," Lillian said, going to make coffee.

She brought the coffee upstairs and entered the study, saying, "I'm here."

Placing the coffee on the table, she asked, "Are you going to tutor me in English?"

Alexander lifted his eyes to look at her, "What do you think? Why else would I call you up here? To tell jokes?"

Lillian turned her head and wrinkled her nose, thinking to herself, 'Is it so hard to just say 'yes'?'

Alexander didn't notice her small gesture and said, "Last time before the Christmas holiday, I gave you a simple tutoring session. Your foundation is really poor. Let's not talk about that. Do this first." He finished speaking and tossed her a worksheet.

"This isn't a test, is it?" Lillian dreaded exams, feeling dizzy just looking at the letters.

Alexander patiently said, "I made this based on your level. It's not a test. It's all stuff you need to know for work."

"Alright," Lillian said, taking the pen and worksheet, and sat across from him, lowering her head to write.

Time passed slowly, but Lillian felt like it was dragging on forever. Sitting across from him felt like being back in high school, where she sat in the front row and could reach out and touch the teacher. Every time she did a test, she felt anxious, wanting to cover each one with her hand as she wrote.

Propping her chin with one hand, she looked up at him. He was working at the computer, looking focused and serious, with a slight frown that made him look very handsome.

'How nice it would be not to write the worksheet, just sitting here quietly admiring a handsome guy. It's really a kind of enjoyment,' Lillian thought, attracted to his handsome face.

"Lillian, if you don't start writing and keep staring at me like that, I'll have to fire you!" Alexander said coldly, not taking his eyes off the computer.

Lillian wasn't flustered at being caught. She lowered her head again and said painfully, "The questions are so hard. I can't do them."

"Use your brain, will you? If you were a college graduate and had studied English, these questions wouldn't be hard for you," Alexander said, unmoved by her complaints.

Lillian lay on the table, not speaking, silently looking at the questions.

After more than half an hour, Alexander finished his work and turned his attention to the worksheet. The paper was covered in scribbles, making it unbearable to look at. Just seeing it made him angry.

He snatched the worksheet away, his face dark as he checked it.

Lillian, feeling uneasy, twirled her pen and said softly, "I haven't finished yet."

Alexander laughed mockingly, "So what if you finish? How many points do you think you can get on this worksheet?"

"Maybe seventy or eighty?" Lillian asked weakly.

Alexander flicked his fingers, and the worksheet flew into Lillian's face. He said irritably, "Seventy or eighty? Be realistic. You'd be lucky to get twenty or thirty points, no more."

"Alright," Lillian said dejectedly, "You know my English is bad. Actually, getting twenty or thirty points is normal for me. If I could get seventy or eighty, I wouldn't need your tutoring."

"You're not ashamed but proud of it?" Alexander said, laughing in exasperation at her attitude.

"Not really. It's just that if you keep discouraging me, I won't have any motivation to learn," Lillian said, feeling wronged.

"Are you negotiating with me? Are you here to learn or not?" Alexander said, "This is my method. You can choose not to learn."

'It's free. Only a fool wouldn't learn.' Lillian thought to herself but said aloud, "I'll learn. I'll learn for myself. Your methods are all correct."

Alexander snorted again and said, "Move a chair over here and sit next to me. I'll explain the questions to you."

Moments later, Lillian was sitting next to him, so close she could smell his faint, unique scent. She felt a bit attracted to him. But when his pleasant voice started explaining the questions in her ear, she snapped back to reality and focused.

However, a voice in her heart still mocked, 'Lillian, what's wrong with you? Are you being seduced by his good looks?'
