Chapter 393 Wendy, Have You Made up Your Mind?
Wendy, shocked and in disbelief, asked, "Did Aaron say that? He wants to try dating me?"
Tom smiled and said, "Don't be so surprised. Just treat Aaron like an ordinary person."
"What do you think, Wendy? Are you going to give it a try? You're both single, I think it's worth a shot," Tom added.
Wendy furrowed and hesitantly said, "Is it okay? He's a celebrity, I'm afraid it might not be suitable."
"Don't think of Aaron as a celebrity, just as an ordinary person," Tom said dismissively. "He's just a regular guy; he farts and poops like everyone else. Doesn't that make it seem more normal?"
Wendy's expression was sterned, and she looked towards Angela and Lillian.
Angela said, "Don't worry about the whole celebrity-fan thing. If you like him, give it a try. You have to try different things to know what you want."
Lillian, still concerned, asked Tom, "Is Aaron's private life all good? Wendy comes from a decent family."
Tom smiled wryly, "Lillian, the way you say it, it's like I'm throwing Wendy to the wolves. I don't know about his private life. But I do know that his grandfather is very strict with him. He didn't want Aaron to enter the entertainment industry, but Aaron insisted. I've heard that one of the rules is that no matter how late he finishes work, he has to go home. Plus, his grandfather's bodyguards are always with him, monitoring his every move and reporting back."
"So, with his grandfather's supervision, he should be fine," Lillian said.
"Aaron is so pitiful," Wendy said, feeling a bit sympathetic towards Aaron for being so closely watched by his family.
As they were talking, people started coming out of the dining room, heading towards them.
Alexander sat next to Lillian and asked, "What are you guys talking about? Still about Aaron and Wendy?"
Lillian said, "Yeah, Aaron wants to give it a try, and we're asking Wendy what she thinks."
Caspian sat in a single chair, watching coldly.
Ivan said, "Aaron was our company's product spokesperson before, and we interacted a couple of times. He's a good guy, low-key, humble, and hardworking. Wendy, if you're interested, give it a try."
Wendy, feeling everyone's attention, became flustered and glanced at Caspian, who was lounging on the sofa, playing with his phone, completely uninterested in their discussion.
"I'll give it a try. Dating my favorite celebrity would satisfy my vanity, enough to brag about for a lifetime!" Wendy said with a half-joking smile.
As soon as Wendy finished speaking, Caspian suddenly stood up and walked away expressionlessly.
Tom asked casually, "Who's he showing that expression to?"
He nudged Wendy with his shoulder and asked with a mischievous smile, "What's going on between you two?"
"Nothing at all, stop gossiping!" Wendy turned away, catching a glimpse of Caspian's back as he went upstairs.
Lillian said, "Let's all stay here tonight."
Angela said to Ivan, "I promised Lillian, so we're staying here tonight."
Ivan said without hesitation, "Okay, whatever you say."
Theodore had been sitting there silently. Suddenly, he stood up and left without a word.
Outside, snowflakes began to fall, covering the yard in a blanket of white.
The men went to the game room. Wendy and Angela, feeling tired, went to the guest room to sleep. Lillian went to the baby's room to play with the baby.
When Wendy woke up again, Angela was gone, replaced by Gina. She groggily sat up and turned on the bedside lamp. The clock on the wall pointed to midnight.
"You're awake," Gina asked, half-turning her head.
"Did I wake you? Sorry," Wendy said, not knowing when Gina had come in.
"I wasn't asleep anyway."
"I'm going to take a shower. You go back to sleep," Wendy said as she got out of bed quietly.
Lillian had thoughtfully placed new clothes and pajamas in the bathroom. The skincare products on the vanity were also Wendy's usual brand.
Wendy took a comfortable shower, dried her hair, and came out of the bathroom. She felt a bit hungry. She hadn't eaten much at dinner because of the whole Aaron situation.
"Lillian, are you asleep? I'm a bit hungry," Wendy messaged her on Facebook.
Lillian quickly replied, "I'm hungry too. Let's get something to eat. You go to the kitchen first."
Wendy went downstairs. The living room was lit by several floor lamps, casting a warm yellow glow that dispelled the darkness and made it feel less scary.
As Wendy walked towards the kitchen, she saw Caspian, alone, drinking from a wine glass. She hesitated and was about to turn away when Caspian called out to her.
"Come back!"
Wendy stopped, turned to him, and asked, "What's up?"
"Why do you run away when you see me?" Caspian said, clearly unhappy. "I ask you, are we still friends?"
Wendy thought to herself, 'Who wants to be friends with you? I want to be your lover.'
But she said, "Yes, of course we are."
"If we're friends, then why do you run away without even saying anything? Do you think that's right?" Caspian looked at her intently and commanded, "Come here!"
Wendy, trying to stay calm, looked into his eyes, hesitated for a moment, and then walked over to sit across from him.
"Up late and in the kitchen, are you hungry?" Caspian asked.
"I already slept. I didn't eat much at dinner, so I'm hungry."
Caspian poured himself another drink and teased her, "At dinner, you were too excited thinking about Aaron to eat, right?"
Wendy rolled her eyes at him, "I do what I want!"
Seeing him drink again, she couldn't help but ask, "You talk about me, but why are you drinking again? Still, thinking about Ms. Phillips? Seeing her with Amos today, did it bother you?"
Caspian smiled silently, "Not really. They won't last long anyway."
"What?" Wendy looked at him in confusion. 'Did he know something about Amos?'
Caspian downed his drink in one gulp, turned to her with a drunken gaze, and asked, "Are you planning to date Aaron? Have you thought it through?"
