Chapter 159 Lisa and Lola's Envy

Upon hearing this, Lisa promptly agreed, "Alright, Lillian, since it's inconvenient for you to speak, I'll talk to Alexander. Lola and I will stay for dinner then." She added with a deliberate smile.

Lillian sat there, watching Lisa, thinking, 'If my mom and sister visited, I'd be excited to show my mom my room and tell her about this place, not just sit here. I never saw Lisa as my mom after all these years. Now I get why she never treated me like a daughter.'

After an awkward silence, Lisa couldn't help but say, "Lillian, now that you're living in such a big house, aren't you happy? Why don't you show Lola and me around?"

Though Lillian wasn't too keen on the idea, she still agreed, "Alright, I'll show you around."

Lola stood up, trying to hide her excitement about exploring the mansion. Lisa quietly pulled her aside and whispered, "Let's look around. It'll broaden your horizons and make you less nervous talking to classmates."

Lillian led them from downstairs to upstairs, introducing everything along the way. They saw the home theater, swimming pool, gym, and more. Lisa and Lola were both astonished.

"Lillian, Alexander's house has everything! I'll never experience such luxury in my life," Lisa said enviously.

Lola's eyes were wide with wonder. This was the kind of life she dreamed of! Though a bit jealous, she remarked, "Lillian, I noticed your wardrobe doesn't have many designer clothes, and you don't even have a good handbag."

Lillian replied casually, "That wardrobe belongs to Alexander. I only have two dresses in there. My usual clothes are in the bedroom closet."

"How many bags has Alexander bought for you? Show me," Lola, who loved bags, insisted.

Lisa added, "Lillian, if you have any you don't like, you can give them to Lola. We won't mind."

They chatted as they returned to the living room. After sitting down, Lillian said, "I haven't bought any bags. The one I use for work was bought online."

"If you don't want to show me, just say so," Lola said, annoyed.

Lillian explained, "If you don't believe me, that's fine."

"Lillian wouldn't lie to you. You're always so sensitive," Lisa mediated.

Feeling tired, Lillian lay down on the sofa and said, "You two rest here for a bit. I need to take a nap."

"Alright, you sleep. Don't worry about us," Lisa said.

Lillian quickly fell asleep. Lisa and Lola sat on the other side, talking in hushed tones.

"Do you think Alexander will let me work at his company?" Lola asked, a bit worried.

Lisa thought for a moment and said, "He definitely will! Lillian is carrying his child. He'll help for sure."

"But what if he doesn't? Then all my hopes will be crushed," Lola said.

"Don't worry. If he says no, I'll keep working on Lillian. We've got such good resources now; we can definitely use them. He'll agree to something this small," Lisa reassured.

Kelly brought over two cups of coffee and asked politely, "Have you had lunch yet? If not, I can whip something up for you."

Lisa, a bit surprised, quickly replied, "We came in a hurry and haven't eaten. Could you make something for us? Do you have steak and pasta?" She laughed as she spoke.

Kelly, used to all kinds of requests, simply said, "Alright."

After Kelly left, Lola grumbled, "She was just being polite. Didn't you see that? You even picked out lunch for her to make. It's kind of laughable."

Sitting on the sofa, holding a grape, Lisa said, "What's the big deal? They have plenty of food, just like we have everyday meals. She won't laugh at us."

When Kelly finished cooking, she called them to eat.

Lisa and Lola went to the dining room. Kelly said, "Enjoy your meal. I won't disturb you," and then left.

Lisa placed the steak in front of Lola and said, "You eat this."

She took a bite of the pasta and exclaimed, "This pasta is really delicious!"

Lola slowly savored the steak, thinking, 'The life of the wealthy is truly wonderful.'

After her nap, Lillian woke up to find no one around. She slowly sat up and called out, "Lisa, Lola?"

Kelly heard her and came out, saying, "Lillian, they went to the guest room to sleep."

"Where's my grandma?" Lillian asked.

"She's still upstairs, watching TV. I just came down from there. Do you want to go up and see her? I washed some fruit," Kelly said.

Lillian nodded, took the fruit, and went upstairs. She chatted with Linda, and time flew by. Kelly came up to tell her that Alexander and Luke had returned.

Kelly helped Linda, focusing on Lillian, and the three of them went downstairs. Lisa and Lola were sitting in the living room. Seeing Lillian, they smiled and said, "Alexander went to his room."

Lillian caught the look in Lisa's eyes and nodded slightly before heading to the room.

Alexander had just taken off his coat. Seeing her come in, he asked casually, "Where were you just now?"

"I was upstairs chatting with grandma," Lillian said, sitting on the edge of the bed and looking at him.

Alexander asked, "What do they want this time? They know you're pregnant, right?"

"They know. Grandma told them today when they came," Lillian said. "I invited them to stay for dinner. After dinner, let them tell you what they want. I'm not going to be the messenger."

Walking towards the bathroom, Alexander laughed and said, "You've gotten smarter. She's just greedy. You help her once, and she gets addicted."

Following him to the bathroom door, Lillian tentatively asked, "So, does that mean you won't help her, right?"
