Chapter 203 So Many Good Things about Alexander

Lillian tossed their clothes into the suitcase, grabbing the must-haves.

I wonder if Luke will like going to Sinclair Villa. Nowhere beats home," Lillian sighed, eyeing the luggage.

Alexander chimed in, "I get it, you're doing this for Grandma. We'll hang for a week, then bounce."

"I'm mostly stressing about Mom!" Lillian confessed, picturing Samantha's stern face.

"My mom's tough, but it's all show. Chill, just talk to her like normal," Alexander reassured her.

Lillian nodded. "Got it."

They left the room, and Alexander gave Kelly and Melvin some quick instructions before hitting the road to Sinclair Villa with Lillian.

After parking, they spotted Beatrice and her crew getting out of another car.

"Lillian!" Rena called out, all smiles.

Lillian was a bit taken aback, thinking, 'Why's Rena being all buddy-buddy with mr?'

Beatrice grinned and said, "Lillian, we're roomies now. You and Rena can swap pregnancy hacks. It's perfect."

"Beatrice, sounds good," Lillian replied politely, then glanced at Rena's belly. "How far along are you?"

"Six months," Rena said proudly, patting her belly.

"Let's head inside. We can catch up more later," Beatrice said, grabbing Lillian's hand and leading her in.

Alexander and Blake trailed behind, chatting quietly.

"Living together's gonna be handy. I can fill you in on company stuff in the evenings," Blake joked.

Alexander smiled. "The board's stoked about the deals you've been nailing lately."

"Just doing my thing," Blake said modestly. "Compared to you, my stuff's small potatoes."

Alexander shrugged it off and switched topics. "Heard you've been hanging with the eldest Torres son and hitting the horse races. Don't let Dad catch wind; he can't stand the Torres family."

Blake replied, "We hung out a couple times but haven't kept in touch."

"Dad's got beef with the Torres family. I'll leave it at that," Alexander wrapped it up.

Inside, the living room was buzzing with laughter. Justin and Ethan were MIA, and Linda sat in the middle, flanked by Rena and Lillian, both pregnant, making for a cozy family scene.

"Lily, what do you want for dinner? I'll tell the chef," Linda asked, clearly doting on Lillian, her eyes full of affection.

Rena's face was subtly awkward, not getting the same love despite also being pregnant.

"Grandma, I'm cool with anything," Lillian said, then saw Alexander coming over and shot him a help-me look.

Alexander plopped down next to Lillian. "Grandma, I'll take Lily to our room for a nap. You guys keep chatting."

Samantha cut in, "Mom isn't done talking with Lillian yet. Don't leave just yet."

Alexander, already helping Lillian up, said, "Mom, we can chat later. Lillian needs a nap."

"Grandma, take your time," Alexander added to Linda.

Linda nodded, "Go on, catch some Z's and come back for dinner."

Melvin had moved their room downstairs for convenience.

In their room, Alexander said, "Babe, you've been busting your butt. Get some rest."

Lillian, totally wiped, crawled into bed. "So beat," she sighed.

"Chatting with Grandma's cool, but with Mom, Beatrice, and Rena around, I felt so tense. I was the center of attention and felt uneasy," Lillian said, yawning and turning over.

"Grandma dotes on me so much that I could see Rena was a bit miffed. She was smiling, but you could tell she was ticked off inside," she continued.

Alexander replied, "If she's upset, it's 'cause she's got a stick up her butt. Grandparents have always played favorites. Don't sweat it."

"Alright," Lillian said, her head hitting the pillow. She asked, "Are you heading back to the office now?"

"Nope, I'm sticking around. You just sleep," Alexander said, sitting beside her and patting her gently.

Lillian crashed for over two hours. When she woke up, she saw Alexander lying next to her, out cold. She turned towards him quietly, resting her head on her hand, and looked at him closely. With her other hand, she gently traced his features like a paintbrush.

"Alexander, how'd you get so damn handsome?" she muttered to herself. "Your eyebrows are so dark and perfect; your nose is high and straight; your mouth, though you talk smack, has such a beautiful shape that I envy; and your eyes..."

She playfully tapped his eyelids twice and continued, "They're so big and deep. Every time you look at me with such affection, do you know? I really get crazy excited!"

"Is that so?" Suddenly, he opened his eyes and looked at her deeply, like he was peering into her soul.

Lillian was startled, her face turning beet red, all the way to her ears. Embarrassed, she covered her face and said coyly, "So you were faking it!"

Alexander laughed, gently removed her hands, and pulled her into his arms. His eyes, as deep as she had described, were full of teasing. "You never butter me up when I'm awake. Turns out you spill your guts when you think I'm out."

Lillian pouted. "Just this once, and you caught me."

He asked, "What other awesome things do you think about me? Spill it."

"You're handsome and loaded. Ever since you started treating me well, I find you super responsible and patient. I've discovered so many good things about you," Lillian said, surprised.

Feeling a bit smug from the praise, Alexander said, "You'll find even more in the future."

"Really?" Lillian asked mischievously. "Like what?"

"Like this," Alexander smiled and then pressed his lips to hers.
