Chapter 387 Angela's Boyfriend
Lillian and Wendy looked at the newcomer, dumbfounded and bewildered.
Angela and the man sat down, waving a hand in front of their faces with a smile, "Hey! Are you guys stunned?"
Wendy asked blankly, "Angela, is this your boyfriend?"
Angela looked at the man beside her with gentle eyes and said to the two, "Let me introduce you, this is my boyfriend, Ivan Baker."
"Ivan, these are my best friends, Lillian and Wendy."
Ivan, who was handsome and elegant, greeted them warmly, "Hello."
Lillian and Wendy snapped out of their daze and nodded with a smile, "Hello, Mr. Baker."
"Lillian, Wendy, you don't have to be so formal. Just call him Ivan," Angela said happily, then waved to call the waiter.
"Lillian and Wendy, what do you want to eat? Lillian, you just came back from Aetherland. Did you get used to the food there?" Angela asked while looking at the menu with Ivan, occasionally whispering to each other.
Lillian and Wendy exchanged a glance and replied, "It was okay. The cook at home made meals for us."
"Ivan, order a hot drink. You've been coughing at night these past few days," Angela said considerately.
Ivan smiled, "Sure."
Lillian and Wendy exchanged another surprised look. 'Angela, who was always so aloof, suddenly turned into a sweet girl? This was too unbelievable!'
"Wendy, what do you want to eat?" Angela asked.
Wendy, resting her chin on her hand, said, "I'll have a sirloin steak."
The food arrived quickly, and they chatted while eating.
Ivan was seven years older than Angela and was the CEO of a company in Atlanter. By chance, Angela treated Ivan's mother, and they quickly developed into lovers.
"Oh, so that's how you met," Lillian said slowly while eating. "But isn't your relationship progressing a bit too fast?"
Ivan, who was cutting Angela's steak, smiled and said, "The moment I saw Angela, something inside me said, 'That's her. She's the one I've been waiting for!'"
Wendy, puffing her cheeks and squinting her eyes, made a noise.
Angela asked, "What's wrong with you now?"
"Ivan, don't get me wrong. I don't mean anything by it. It's just that my steak doesn't taste as good anymore!" Wendy explained.
Lillian asked, "Ivan, you're not young anymore. Haven't you had a girlfriend before? Was there no one suitable?"
"First, I was busy with work and didn't have time for a relationship. Second, there wasn't anyone suitable," Ivan replied.
Wendy asked with some doubt, "Our Angela is very aloof. Ivan, do you think she's the right one for you?"
"I don't find Angela aloof. On the contrary, she's passionate when we're together, and I like that very much."
Lillian and Wendy both turned their teasing gazes to Angela.
Suddenly, Ivan's phone rang. He looked at it and said, "Excuse me," before getting up to leave.
As soon as he left, Lillian and Wendy dropped their pretense and began interrogating Angela.
"Spill it! Why didn't you tell us about your boyfriend in the group chat immediately?" Wendy asked.
"I wanted to surprise you," Angela replied calmly, her eyes on Ivan, who was on the phone in the distance, with a smile on her lips.
Lillian asked, "Are you planning to marry him, or is it just for fun?"
"I always take relationships seriously. How could it be just for fun?" Angela said, taking a bite of salad and continuing to admire Ivan from afar.
"Oh my gosh!" Lillian said with a wry smile, seeing Angela's lovestruck expression. "Love is so strange, isn't it? It can turn someone aloof into someone so passionate."
Wendy pouted and said while eating, "I thought Angela would end up with Mr. Wellington. Who knew someone unexpected would show up? Lillian, your prayer for Angela worked. Take me with you next time."
"What prayer?" Angela asked, turning her attention to Lillian with interest.
"I prayed for you at a great church in Aetherland, hoping you'd find a boyfriend and settle down soon. Isn't it amazing? I hadn't even told you, and you already brought him to meet us," Lillian said.
Lillian then turned to Wendy and said, "Didn't you pray at the church after Christmas? You said you'd have good luck in love this year."
Wendy said, "I don't believe what that priest told me. If my luck is so good, where's my man?"
"Caspian!" Lillian suddenly pointed behind her, exclaiming in surprise.
Wendy's heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks flushed as she quickly turned to look. But behind her, there were only other diners.
She turned back, annoyed, and said, "Lillian, you tricked me!"
"I wasn't tricking you. I wanted to tell you not to shut out your chances of love by only thinking about Caspian. Caspian isn't the right one for you. Do you want to be single forever? Believe in the priest's words, and soon a guy will come after you."
Angela nodded in agreement, "Lillian is right. If you keep thinking about Caspian, even if a guy pursues you, you'll pretend not to see it. Look at your reaction just now. That won't do."
Wendy said, "I know what you mean. I'm trying to move on. He keeps hinting that he doesn't want me to cling to him. It makes me so mad! I don't even care anymore!"
"That's right. It's good that you think that way. After the New Year, let's start going on blind dates!" Angela encouraged her.
Wendy looked at Angela, blinking, "Wait a minute. We were talking about you. How did it turn to me? I ask you, is there anything else you haven't told us? Where are you two in your relationship?"
"We've had sex," Angela said straightforwardly.
"What?" The innocent Wendy asked in shock, "You just met a few days ago, and you're already having sex?"
Angela shrugged and laughed, "Wendy, you need to learn."
Lillian chuckled and looked over at Ivan. His tall and handsome profile suddenly seemed familiar.
