Chapter 269 Are You Trying to Annoy Me on Purpose?

Lillian felt a warmth in her heart, leaned down to hug him, and said emotionally, "Honey, I feel like everything is destined. We must love each other even more in the future."

"Alright, we will love each other and our son even more deeply," Alexander patted her back, feeling warm inside and full of emotions.

Lillian's big belly didn't allow her to lie on him for too long. She sat up and started to tidy her clothes, casually asking, "Honey, do you make another appointment with the doctor who operated on Oscar?"

Alexander also got up and said, "Yes, Dr. Evans has a sister who didn't come before because she had a car accident. Now, it's June, and his sister is going on summer vacation. He wants to take her out, so we have to wait until September when she goes back to school."

"He's good to his sister," Lillian said with a hint of envy.

Alexander smiled and said, "I heard Dr. Evans' parents have passed away, and his sister is his only family, so naturally, he dotes on her."

Lillian said, "It's similar to my situation, except I'm the older sister, and my care for my brother is more about concern than doting."

Alexander walked towards the bathroom, saying, "Don't worry. Dr. Evans said that as long as Oscar takes his medication on time and avoids stress, he'll be fine. We'll wait three more months. By then, you'll be about to give birth, and we can celebrate both your delivery and Oscar's recovery."

Lillian followed him into the bathroom. Talking about childbirth, she couldn't help but touch her belly. Standing in front of the mirror, she lifted her clothes, exposing her belly, and carefully looked at it from side to side.

Her belly was round and hanging low. Bernice had visited her once before and brought her a bottle of body lotion, which was very effective. The skin around her belly hadn't changed color, and she hadn't developed any stretch marks, which made her quite relieved.

"Honey, what if something goes wrong during childbirth? I'm so scared," Lillian asked worriedly.

Alexander was taking a shower and washing his hair. Hearing this, he said unhappily, "Don't overthink! We have the best doctors and anesthetists, so, nothing will go wrong."

"However, what if something does happen? Would you choose to save me or the baby?" She asked foolishly.

"That's a stupid question!" Alexander scolded her angrily. "Don't ask me such idiotic questions again. I don't want to answer them."

Lillian pouted at the mirror and mumbled, "I know. You would save the baby, right? Why can't you say it?"

Alexander turned off the shower, stood there with his hands on his hips, and said angrily, "Lillian, if you weren't pregnant right now, I'd give you a good scolding! Why did you come in here? Are you deliberately saying things to annoy me?"

"Yes, I did it on purpose!" Lillian laughed. She especially liked seeing him go crazy and helpless because of her. She found it very cute.

Alexander laughed helplessly and said, "I don't understand what fun you get out of deliberately annoying me."

His phone rang in the bedroom. Lillian went to get it for him and saw that the caller ID was Dad.

Alexander answered and put it on speaker, "Dad."

Ethan asked, "Are you busy right now? I have something to tell you."

"I'm not busy. What's up?" Alexander asked while drying his hair with a towel.

Lillian stood in front of the mirror, picking her nose and touching her face, eager to hear what Ethan had to say.

Ethan coughed a few times on the phone and slowly said, "Your grandfather kicked Beatrice and Blake out of the family. I'm upset about it. How will they manage in the future?"

Alexander smirked disdainfully, but he didn't say anything and continued to listen.

"I gave Beatrice the storefront on Asia Street, and all the paperwork is done," Ethan said. "Beatrice is opening a jewelry store, and it's launching tomorrow. Go and send a couple of flower baskets to show support."

Lillian was stunned, thinking, 'Their life seems pretty good.'

Alexander put on his loungewear, took his phone, and held Lillian's hand as they returned to the bedroom.

Alexander answered, "Dad, I'll see if I have time tomorrow. If not, I'll ask Kevin to send the flower baskets."

Ethan was dissatisfied with this response. He got anxious and started coughing again, saying, "Don't try to fool me. Don't you control your work schedule? You must go tomorrow!"

Alexander said, "Dad, you've been coughing a lot lately. Have you gone to the hospital? Mom called me the other day and said you weren't taking your medicine or seeing a doctor. What's going on with you?"

"Don't change the subject," Ethan said angrily. "I know my body. You don't need to worry. I'm asking you to go because I can't. Although your grandfather finds out, he won't blame you."

Alexander laughed and asked, "Dad, how can you be so sure that Grandpa won't blame me if he finds out?"

"I'm not senile yet. You and your grandfather are very close; he couldn't bear to blame you. Don't think I don't know," Ethan said. "Alright, that's enough. Go tomorrow and send me some photos. Bye."

Alexander smiled bitterly and said to Lillian, "Honey, see. Isn't he being a bit unreasonable?"

Lillian couldn't help but say, "He loves Beatrice. The way he ordered you just now sounded like someone being unreasonable in love."

"He's been blinded by love," Alexander teased.

Lillian asked, "Honey, are you going tomorrow?"

"No, I'll have Kevin send the flower baskets," Alexander said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

In the largest storefront on Asia Street, Blake was ready for the grand opening and couldn't help but smile at Shae, saying, "Ms. Anderson, we'll need your hard work to make our store profitable."

Shae giggled and said, "Of course."

Not long ago, Blake approached her about being the client manager for the jewelry store. Since her fallout with Alexander, she hadn't found a better partner or a way to reconcile with him.

Although Blake's offer wasn't the best, it was better than nothing. Besides, she believed Beatrice wouldn't give up easily, and it was only a matter of time before she returned to the Sinclair family. So, she decided to take a gamble.

Her heart started to race as she looked at the tall, handsome, and confident Blake, who bore a striking resemblance to Alexander.

"Shae, I'll treat you to dinner tonight. You've worked hard for the store's opening," Blake said.

Shae initially wanted to refuse, but seeing his face, which slowly overlapped with Alexander's, she couldn't help but nod in agreement.
