Chapter 82 I'm Going Back to America
A servant knocked on the door from outside, "Mrs. Sinclair, are you awake? Mr. Sinclair asked if you want to come down for lunch."
Whenever Lillian thought of Alexander, a fierce hatred surged in her heart, and she shouted towards the door, "I'm not eating!"
The servant left, and Lillian checked the time before slowly getting up from the bed and walking towards the bathroom. She planned to take a hot bath, but as she stood in front of the mirror, she was surprised by what she saw and stood there in astonishment.
The hickeys adorned her neck and chest, glaring and embarrassing, reminding her of how wild they were last night.
"Bang!" She grabbed the bottle of body wash and threw it at the mirror, followed by a loud crash as the mirror shattered on the floor.
Lillian wanted to go home. She wanted to leave here immediately!
She dressed herself, found her suitcase, and started packing. She cried in distress, tears streaming down her cheeks. She thought to herself, 'Alexander, you jerk! I stayed here to take care of him out of goodwill, but he unleashed his beastly nature! Why am I so unlucky, foolishly marrying him, foolishly sleeping with him? Why does he always hurt me?'
She quickly finished packing, and just as she reached the door, someone entered from outside.
Alexander saw her crying, dragging her suitcase to leave, and asked coldly, "Where are you going?"
"Can't you see? I'm going back home!" Lillian reached out to push him away.
Alexander grabbed her wrist and pushed her aside. "Today is Christmas. Don't make a scene. What are you doing?"
Hearing this, Lillian felt even more aggrieved and angry and cried out to him, "Am I being melodramatic? Don't you know what you did to me? I can't take it anymore. Just seeing you makes me sick now!"
"Do you think I enjoy seeing you like this?" Alexander sneered. "If you don't want to get into trouble, just listen to me. It is not the place to cry and make a fuss!"
"Am I supposed to endure humiliation silently? Is expressing my emotions being melodramatic? Alexander, you're unreasonable! I'm the victim! You forced me to have sex with you! Do I still need to please you?" Lillian couldn't bear it anymore and shouted hysterically at Alexander.
Last night's incident also angered Alexander. In a way, he was also a victim.
"We'll deal with last night's issue when we get back home. Don't cause trouble for me here!" Alexander commanded, then turned and left.
Lillian was frightened by his harsh attitude, but she still mustered the courage to say, "If you let me go back, then you don't have to worry about me causing trouble for you!"
Alexander coldly looked at her. "Are you testing my patience?"
Lillian stubbornly looked at him, not daring to say another word. She sat dejectedly on the edge of the bed, head lowered. Her chest felt heavy, as if there was a big rock stuck inside, making it difficult for her to breathe.
After a while, a servant suddenly knocked on the door from outside and said, "Mrs. Sinclair, Mrs. Samantha wants you to come downstairs."
In the end, Lillian didn't dare to confront Alexander one last time. She wiped away her tears and answered, "I'll come down right away."
She washed her face again, applied light makeup, and put on a simple yet elegant dress. Then, she found some bandaids to cover the red marks on her neck.
"Samantha, did you come looking for me?" Lillian walked downstairs and sat next to Samantha.
Samantha looked at her displeasedly and mockingly asked, "You are too impolite. It's Christmas today. Don't you know you should respect your elders?"
Lillian was too exhausted from the previous night's ordeal and completely forgot it was Christmas today.
"Samantha, Merry Christmas! May the peace and joy of this holiday be with you in the coming year!" Despite her dissatisfaction with Alexander, Lillian still followed tradition and extended her Christmas greetings to Samantha, showing respect.
Lillian then asked casually, "Where is Quinn?"
Samantha said, "He's with Beatrice. You and Alexander should be good to each other this year and try to give me a grandson." After finishing her sentence, she handed a large gift to Lillian.
Lillian looked down at the present, hesitated for a moment, and then accepted it.
"Thank you, Samantha," Lillian said.
Samantha continued, "Everyone in the family went to see Thomas this morning, and you were sleeping in your room! You really embarrassed me. Luckily, Alexander cared about you and spoke on your behalf in front of Thomas. Go and see Thomas with Alexander later."
"Can I go by myself?" Lillian asked coldly.
"Just you?" Samantha furrowed her brows and angrily said, "Don't you know your status? You are Mrs. Sinclair of the Sinclair family. What does going to see an elder by yourself mean? Isn't Alexander worthy of standing by your side?"
"Samantha, don't be mad. I didn't mean that. I thought he had already seen Thomas this morning, so there was no need for him to go."
"And you dare to say that! Even those with spouses all went to visit Thomas together. But Alexander can only sit there alone because of you." Samantha scolded Lillian angrily.
Lillian thought to herself, 'Who is really causing harm to whom?'
"Samantha, even if I hadn't woken up, you could have had a servant come and wake me up," Lillian said.
Samantha sneered, "I wouldn't dare! Alexander forbade anyone from disturbing your sleep and instructed the servants to keep an eye on your room. So we could only wake you up when you woke up."
Upon hearing this, Lillian maintained a blank expression and remained silent, not wanting to listen to Samantha's nagging anymore. She stood up and said, "Samantha, I'm going to visit Thomas now. Where is Alexander?"
Samantha looked at her confusedly, wondering why Lillian seemed distant when mentioning Alexander.
"You go upstairs and change into a more colorful outfit. This dress is too plain," Samantha said.
Lillian went upstairs to change her clothes just as Alexander entered from outside.
"Mom," he sat down and asked, "Is Lily downstairs?"
"She just came down and went upstairs to change clothes. I was about to call both of you to go visit Thomas together," Samantha replied.
After Samantha finished speaking, she asked tentatively, "Did you fight with Lillian?"
"What did she say to you?" Alexander asked.
"No need to say, it's all written on your faces. What happened between you two?" Samantha inquired.
Alexander contemplated for a moment, and he replied, "Nothing. Young girls sometimes have moments of stubbornness, nothing serious."
"I don't care what happened between the two of you, but you must always prioritize having children! This time in Aetherland, I have been feeling something suspicious about Beatrice and Blake," Samantha said.
"Mom, even without having children, I can still acquire all the shares. They won't fall into the pockets of outsiders," Alexander replied discontentedly.
"But with a child, your chances will be greater, and they will have even less hope," Samantha anxiously said. "Your father is now so infatuated with that vixen Beatrice, spending all his time with her. I can't let the company be taken away from me."
Alexander glanced at Samantha wordlessly. He understood her obsession with shares and children, so he didn't say anything else.
Lillian came downstairs wearing a bright red dress. When she saw Alexander sitting on the living room sofa, she took a deep breath and pretended that everything was fine. She said to Samantha, "Samantha, we'll go now."
