Chapter 397 Trending

Lillian knocked Wendy on the head and said, "Stop thinking about Caspian. He doesn't even like you. Give Aaron a chance, maybe something good will come out of it."

Wendy, unwilling to give up, said, "Lillian, I just don't understand what Caspian means. If he doesn't like me, he shouldn't say things that make me misunderstand, right? What he did today was confusing, giving me all the wrong signals."

Lillian didn't know how to respond, "I don't know either."

Wendy frowned, her mind full of questions.

At dinner, everyone gathered around the table, chatting and laughing as they ate.

Aaron, sitting next to Wendy, said softly, "I don't know what you like to eat. What do you want? I'll get it for you."

Seeing his thoughtfulness, Wendy blushed and said, "I'm fine with anything. You don't need to worry about me."

Tom, sitting across from them, teased with a wine glass in hand, "You two are already so sweet together. Looks like you had a good time today."

Aaron laughed and said, "Wendy has a great personality and is very understanding. I like her."

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone except Caspian started booing.

Wendy, embarrassed, covered her face with her hand and complained to Aaron, "Why did you tell them that?"

"Of course, I want them to know that I like you," Aaron said, pulling her hand down and holding it in his.

Caspian watched coldly.

"Wendy!" Suddenly, Lucas shouted, "Wendy, you and Aaron were spotted by fans!"

"What?" Wendy was surprised, "What's going on?"

Aaron furrowed as he quickly picked up his phone and opened Instagram. There was a post titled #Aaron and a Mystery Woman Watching a Movie!

"How did this happen? Fans are something, aren't they? How did they even take this picture?" She zoomed in on the blurry image, but even she could barely make out Aaron's figure.

"Will this affect you?" Wendy asked worriedly.

Aaron, looking serious, shook his head.

Lillian, looking at the picture, said, "You can't even tell it's Aaron in this. With the mask, sunglasses, and baseball cap, how can they say it's him?"

"How did this happen so fast? You went on a date during the day, and it's already on social media by night?" Angela asked, puzzled.

Alexander said to Aaron, "This is an emergency. Do you need to handle it?"

Just then, Aaron's phone rang. It was his agent. He said a few words and then hung up.

"Sorry, everyone, I have to go. Let's get together another time," Aaron said, then turned to Wendy, "Walk me out?"

Wendy walked him out and stood at the gate, saying, "I won't walk you to the community gate. I'm worried it might not be good for you."

Aaron smiled and nodded, patting her head, "Don't worry, it's not a big deal. My agent just wants to discuss a strategy. I'll message you on Facebook once I'm done."

"Okay," she replied firmly.

Aaron put on his mask, pulled his baseball cap low, and hurried off.

Wendy watched his departing figure, feeling a twinge of guilt.

No one drank much tonight, just a little. After dinner, everyone went home.

When Wendy arrived, Melvin had picked her up. Normally, she would hitch a ride with Caspian, but things were different now. She left with Angela and Ivan.

Tom came over and put his arm around Caspian's shoulder, laughing, "Let's go to the bar for a drink later."

"Get lost!" Caspian, now annoyed at the sight of him, elbowed him away.

Angela, who hadn't drunk, drove Wendy home first, then took Ivan back to his hotel.

On the way, Ivan leaned back in his seat, resting his eyes. After a moment, he said, "Angela, I'm heading back to Atlanta soon."

Angela, focused on driving, just nodded slightly and asked, "When are you leaving?"

"I booked a flight for tomorrow night."

Ivan opened his eyes and, seeing her calm demeanor, couldn't help but turn slightly and tease her by lifting her chin with his finger, "I'm leaving, and you can't even pretend to be a little sad? You're making me look bad."

Angela glanced at him and smiled, "Ivan, do you still think I'm a young girl? If I miss you, I'll come to Atlanta to see you, and we can video chat anytime. It's pretty convenient."

"Angela, your calmness makes me feel like I'm being unreasonable," Ivan said with a bitter smile.

Angela mimicked Ivan's gesture, lifting his chin and teasing, "I'll see you off tomorrow night!"

Wendy got home, washed up, and lay in bed scrolling through Instagram. The news about her and Aaron was still trending, with thousands of comments. She skimmed through them, seeing all sorts of opinions.

She kept scrolling and found that someone was investigating the "mystery woman." Although the information was varied, some details matched her. This scared her a bit. How did these people find out her identity?

She decided to stop looking and went to sleep. Who knew how long Aaron would be busy before he could call her?

Lillian and Alexander, after seeing off their guests, played with their son for a while before collapsing into bed, exhausted.

"Give me a back rub," Lillian said, lying on the bed, "I haven't done much these past two days, but I still feel tired."

Alexander massaged her back, saying, "I'll mention it next time. Let's not host gatherings at our place anymore. We can eat out."

"No, I like having everyone over. It's lively," Lillian said with a smile, "Besides, we hear so much news this way."

"Right there, a bit harder."

Alexander applied more pressure and said, "Now that the holiday is over and things have settled down, we should start planning our wedding."

"When do you want to set the date?" Lillian asked, feeling excited.

Alexander said, "I was thinking of May, but the custom rings and dresses won't be ready in time. It's too rushed, so I gave up on that. July and August are too hot. How about September? What do you think?"

"September sounds great, not too hot or cold. I like it," Lillian said, then curiously asked, "Where do you plan to have our wedding? And don't tell me it's a secret!"
