Chapter 315 Blake Discovers Amy's Secret

Jared took Amy to a Mexican restaurant. As soon as they walked in, the aroma was enough to tell that the place was authentic.

After they sat down, they took the menus handed to them by the waiter and started ordering.

"How did you find this place? It seems pretty nice," Amy asked casually, looking around.

Jared knew her tastes. Looking down at the menu, he said, "I came here once before with my father and his friends. It seemed pretty good, so I made a note of it. I thought it would be perfect to bring you here today."

After he finished ordering, he handed the menu back to the waiter and poured water into their teacups.

"Was work tiring today?" he asked with concern.

"There have been a lot of customers lately. But I'm okay, I'm used to it," she said nonchalantly.

Jared took a sip of water and said regretfully, "Your birthday is coming up, right? I was planning to take you out to celebrate, but it looks like that's not going to happen, is it?"

Amy pursed her lips, feeling a bit lost. "My current identity is Shae, my birthday is at the end of the year."

"Other people might not know, but for us, we always celebrate your birthday together," Jared said with a slight smile. "When your birthday comes, I'll make sure to celebrate it properly with you."

The waiter started bringing the food.

Amy said disinterestedly, "Jared, I don't want to celebrate my birthday anymore. Don't bother."

"How can that be?" Jared disagreed.

He said to her, "I know, you used to celebrate your birthday with Alexander every year. Now that he's married and can't be with you, isn't it good that I'm here with you instead?"

"Jared, do you think he will remember my birthday?" Amy asked hopefully.

"He should remember," Jared said. "Amy, you need to let go of the past and look forward to being happy. Try letting go of him and see what changes."

"He always belonged to me. Why should I let go?" Amy said angrily. "If it weren't for his mother, that damn Samantha, who threatened my family and made me undergo plastic surgery to become Shae, forcing me to live as Shae, how would I have lost Alexander? How would I have ended up like this? She ruined me! I hate her!"

Seeing her emotional outburst, Jared quickly tried to soothe her. "Alright, let's not talk about these unhappy things."

Amy's hand holding the utensils trembled slightly, and she was breathing heavily. She said to him, "Jared, one day, I will make Samantha pay dearly. I will get my revenge!"

Jared looked at her worriedly, feeling indescribably sad. The words of comfort stuck in his throat. Having never experienced such suffering and humiliation himself, how could he truly empathize?

"Amy, no matter what you do, I'll be with you," Jared said solemnly to her.

In the booth behind them, Blake was in shock and disbelief. He had followed them to see what their relationship was, but he ended up hearing a huge secret!

Blake thought to himself, 'Shae is Amy? What did Samantha do?'

Blake smiled, looking down at his phone recording. He had started recording when Amy asked if Alexander would remember her birthday. He had planned to send the recording to Lillian later to stir things up between Lillian and Alexander. But the conversation revealed a huge secret.

Blake thought, 'It seems God is still looking out for me!' Blake was delighted with the big secret he had stumbled upon and thought about how interesting it would be to investigate further and help Amy.

"Sir, would you like to order now?" the waiter suddenly asked, startling him.

Blake glared at her and waved his hand impatiently. "No, what kind of service is this?" he said, then stood up and walked out quickly.

In the hospital room, Wendy and Caspian had finished dinner and cleaned up, but Marcus had not returned yet. He had been gone long enough for a smoke.

Wendy washed some grapes and handed them to him. "Here, they're sweet."

Caspian ate one and then said to her, "It's getting late. I'll have Marcus take you home."

"No rush. Kimberly is out on a date with her boyfriend tonight and might not come back. There's no point in me going home early. I'll stay here and keep you company."

"They're so close, why don't they live together?" Caspian asked curiously.

Wendy said, "He's stingy! Her boyfriend is very stingy. If they rented a place together, he'd have to share the rent and daily expenses. This way, when they go out for movies or meals, Kimberly pays. Even when they stay at a hotel, Kimberly pays most of the time. It's much cheaper than living together."

Caspian said with a sneer, "How did Kimberly end up with a boyfriend like that? She has poor taste."

"I also think her boyfriend is bad. He doesn't have to spend money and still gets to sleep with Kimberly. Shouldn't he cherish her? But sometimes he even hits her. It happened once at home and scared me," Wendy said, still shaken.

Caspian frowned slightly and said, "Why didn't you tell me about this?"

"Kimberly didn't want me to. She was afraid you'd kick her out. She said her boyfriend had his reasons and just lost control for a moment. They had just moved in together, and I didn't know him well. Seeing her so pitiful, I didn't tell you," Wendy said, her voice lowering.

"You're too kind," Caspian teased her. "Does her boyfriend come over often?"

"Not often. After the last time he hit her, I had a serious talk with Kimberly, and she rarely brings him over now. Sometimes he just waits downstairs."

"You need to be more cautious. Don't believe everything she says and don't share all your matters," Caspian said irritably. "If something like this happens again, don't hide it from me. Tell me immediately, understand?"

"I understand," Wendy replied.

"Do you have any sense of safety? Are you stupid?" Caspian couldn't help but tap her head.

Suddenly, the door to the hospital room opened, and Evelyn and Amos walked in.

Wendy quickly stood up, looking a bit embarrassed. "Ms. Phillips, what brings you here?"

Evelyn handed her the bouquet she was holding and said with a smile, "You know how to keep a secret. If someone hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known."

Wendy forced a smile and didn't say anything, turning to put the flowers in a vase.

Caspian lay back on the bed and said to Evelyn, "You could have come to see me by yourself. Why did you bring him along?"
