Chapter 274 Are You Willing?

Samantha gave her a cold look, her lips curling slightly. "You must be joking. You're desperate to go back to the Sinclair family, aren't you?"

Beatrice was unfazed by her taunt. "Samantha, just say whatever you want. Whether Blake and I can return to the Sinclair family, I don't care at all. What matters most is that Ethan cares for me. He doesn't want us to endure hardships outside for too long."

Samantha sneered, "You overestimate him. If he were that tough and dared to ignore Justin, you wouldn't have been his mistress for over thirty years, would you?"

These words made Beatrice a bit angry. She felt hatred in her heart, but she smiled faintly as she spoke, "Ethan doesn't dare to ignore Justin, but he can choose who to live with. No matter how excessive he is, Justin won't deny him as his son, right?"

Samantha's eyes showed a look of hatred, and she gritted her teeth. "If you're confident he can live with you, I won't interfere. I'm Just afraid your hopes will be dashed."

"Samantha, you should worry about yourself." Beatrice sneered, then leaned in close to her ear and whispered mysteriously, "Do you think you fooled everyone back then?"

Samantha's expression froze, and she asked in a steady voice, "What are you talking about?"

"Samantha, are you getting old and forgetful? Go back and think about it. Don't worry, I haven't told Ethan about it." Beatrice patted her shoulder meaningfully like an elder and went to the inner ward.

Samantha frowned deeply, pondered for a moment, and then left.

In the following days, Beatrice stayed in the hospital to take care of Ethan. She refused to hire a night caregiver and stayed with Ethan in the hospital every day.

Samantha, feeling down, arranged a trip with some close friends to relax. At home, only Justin, Linda, and Leah were left.

In the blink of an eye, another month passed, and it was now the hot month of July.

Ethan had long recovered from his illness but still stayed in the hospital. Beatrice accompanied him every day, chatting and taking walks, caring for him meticulously.

Shae would report the daily business of the jewelry store to Beatrice after work. Sometimes, if it was late, she would stay for dinner. Over time, her relationship with Ethan became more familiar.

One day, after Shae finished her report, Ethan smiled and said, "Shae, Blake will bring food later. Stay and eat with us."

Beatrice added, "You have nothing to do when you go back, right? Stay and have dinner with us."

Shae couldn't refuse their hospitality and agreed with a smile.

With less than a month to go before the wedding season, the jewelry store's business started to soar this month. Beatrice was all smiles every day, kind to everyone, even Nico.

While they were chatting, Blake came in with two paper bags. Seeing Shae, he quickly said, "You came at the perfect time, I brought extra food today. Join us for dinner."

The food was brought from Beatrice's home, where they had hired a cook who made delicious meals. Ethan's refusal to go home had angered Justin, so they didn't dare let the Sinclair Villa's chef cook for him.

The four of them sat around the table, eating and chatting happily, just like a family.

Suddenly, someone pushed the door open, and Alexander walked in slowly, holding Lillian's hand.

Their laughter and conversation came to an abrupt halt. Shae's eyes lit up when she saw Alexander, while Lillian frowned upon seeing Shae.

"Alexander, you're here. Lillian, have you eaten?" Beatrice greeted them warmly and walked over.

Alexander and Lillian sat on the sofa opposite and said, "We ate before coming."

Blake glanced at Shae without a word and then asked Lillian, "Lillian, you're about to give birth, right?"

"There are a few weeks left until the due date," Lillian said. "Blake, don't mind us. You guys continue eating."

"It's okay, we're almost done," Beatrice said with a smile.

Ethan put down his utensils, took a napkin to wipe his mouth, got up, walked over, and sat by the bed. He picked up the water cup from the table and asked, "Did your grandfather ask you to come?"

He glanced at Lillian's belly and couldn't help but scold, "Why did you bring Lillian here? She's now in the late stages of pregnancy. What if something happens?"

"Ethan, Alexander and I came to see you on our own, not because Justin sent us," Lillian explained with a smile.

Ethan said, "I'm fine here. No need to visit me often."

"As long as you're fine, that's all that matters. We just wanted to check on you," Alexander said. "Alright then, everything is good, we'll be going."

"Stay a bit longer, Alexander. You just got here," Beatrice said.

Alexander didn't respond and left with Lillian.

Shae felt a faint sense of loss. Since he came in, he hadn't even looked at her directly, which made her a bit resentful.

Suddenly, a piece of beef appeared on her plate. She looked up at Blake, who smiled at her and whispered, "Getting angry while eating is bad for your health."

Shae sneered inwardly. He was good at flirting. Over the past month, he had been getting more and more excessive, as if she didn't know he was flirting. She was just too lazy to respond, not even considering him as a substitute for Alexander.

Beatrice and Ethan were also talking in low voices. "Ethan, it's not good for us to stay here all the time. What do you think?"

Ethan thought for a moment and said, "Of course, I want to live with you. I don't know if you're willing."

Beatrice smiled and said coquettishly, "You're so annoying. You know I'm willing!"

She worriedly said, "But Justin, Linda, and Samantha definitely won't agree, right?"

Ethan pondered for a moment and said, "I'm so old now. Can't I live the life I want? You've been with me for so many years. In my heart, you're already my wife. If it weren't for Samantha's obstruction, we would have been married long ago. What's wrong with living with my wife? Don't worry about it. I'll handle it."

Hearing him say this, Beatrice's lips curled into a triumphant smile. "Ethan, I'm already satisfied that you can say that about me. But I also don't want you to fall out with your family."

Ethan said, "I know what I'm doing."

Lillian and Alexander left the hospital and drove around the city.

"Honey, why was Shae there? And they were eating together. It's so strange."

Alexander said, "She's now the client manager at Beatrice's jewelry store."

"Oh, I see."

Not wanting her to dwell on unhappy thoughts, Alexander changed the subject. "Honey, your birthday is coming up. Since you're pregnant this year, I won't prepare any surprises. How do you want to celebrate? Tell me."
