Chapter 91 Back to Lillian's Family

Lillian sat with Alexander on the sofa, while Harry and Lisa sat across from them. Lisa brought coffee and sat next to Harry. Oscar, on the other side, was engrossed in his phone.

"Alexander, have some coffee." Lisa offered, handing him a cup. Alexander glanced at it but didn't take it.

Lillian quickly intervened, "Lisa, Alexander doesn't like coffee."

"No problem. I bought some imported coffee yesterday. I'll make another cup for him." Lisa insisted.

Lillian stopped her, "Lisa, it's fine. Just get some ice water."

Based on her understanding of Lisa, although she claimed it was imported coffee, it might actually be some off-brand. It would be better not to let Alexander finish it and frown.

Harry surveyed Alexander up and down with arch approval and said to him, "I have a rough understanding of you and Lillian. Since you're married, take your time to build a good life together."

Alexander appreciated Harry's sincerity, unlike Lisa, who often talked about money. Having a slight fondness for Harry in his heart, he nodded lightly.

Harry continued, "Lillian is sensible, obedient, and filial. But she's a bit introverted, not good at sweet talk, or making the elderly happy." Then he paused for a moment, he added, "Lillian is a kind-hearted girl. She always repay kindness with a greater kindness."

Turning his head to look at her, Alexander raised his eyebrows slightly.

Lillian felt embarrassed, "Harry, please don't say that."

At that moment, Lola came out from her bedroom and joined them, full of charm, sitting next to Alexander.

"Hello, Alexander. I'm Lola, Lillian's younger sister." she introduced herself confidently.

Although Lola appeared calm on the surface, her heart had long been filled with romantic fantasies. 'Alexander was handsome and successful. I wished I had a boyfriend like him. I couldn't understand how Lillian ended up with such a man. She has always been my defeated foe since childhood. I can win Alexander over this time.'

Oscar watched coldly from the side, his face full of displeasure. 'Why is Lola being so enthusiastic? What does she want to do?'

Lisa, trying to smooth things over, said, "Lola is my daughter, 23 years old, about to graduate from college."

Alexander felt unimpressed, advised to Lola, "A more natural look suits you better. You don't need expensive perfume. The scent of your laundry detergent is nice."

Lola felt a pang of embarrassment. She couldn't afford luxury items. Alexander's comment made her feel self-conscious.

"I understand, Alexander." Lola said, blushing, about to leave when Alexander added, "Remove your makeup. It's unattractive!"

'Alexander, you did a great job!' Oscar silently cheered in his heart.

Lola went scarlet with embarrassment, pouted, and ran back to the room.

Harry and Lisa faced each other in bewilderment. Lillian remained composed. Alexander's arrogance was nothing new.

Adam then leisurely walked out of the room, having been sound asleep earlier and not hearing Lisa calling him. Stepping out now, he spotted Alexander and cheerfully walked over, pushing past Lillian with a grin, asking, “Alexander, when did you arrive? I was sleeping so deeply last night, I didn't even hear you come in."

Alexander, displeased, gave him a cold look.

Harry reprimanded Adam, "Go back to your room, clean up, and then come out!"

Adam chuckled and said to Alexander, "I'll take a shower, and then we can talk."

Lisa intervened, "Adam is just too glad you're here."

Lillian sighed inwardly, feeling sorry for Alexander.

Lola, feeling upset, went back to her room, freshened up, and returned, looking youthful and presentable. She was satisfied with her appearance. Just as she was about to leave, Lillian entered.

"What's up?" Lola asked, looking up lightly.

Lillian explained, "I'm looking for some things I left behind. I'll take them with me this time." She pulled out a large box from under the bed and glanced at Lola.

Lola felt uneasy, as if her secrets were exposed. "What are you looking at?" she asked nervously.

"Nothing," Lillian turned around and said, "A light makeup suits you."

Lola, feeling suspicious, asked, "What do you mean? Do you think I'm trying to seduce your husband with makeup?"

Lillian retorted, "Even if you wanted to, you wouldn't get your way, understand?"

Camille realized her thoughts were transparent.

"Are you provoking me, Lillian?" Lola approached, displeased.

Lillian smiled, "I'm not provoking you, just stating the facts. I don't want to see you embarrass yourself."

"Who's bringing it upon themselves, might not be who you think!" Lola, still indignant, left the room.

Lillian shook her head. 'Lola was still young. She thought she could rely on her beauty to get what she wanted, but it wasn't a wise strategy. She was used to it. Lola had always been keen on taking things from her. Alexander was outstanding. She wouldn't let go.'

The box contained various gifts she had received, from her friends, Oscar, and Leo. She sat on the floor, taking out a heart-shaped gift box, filled with colorful hair clips, a few necklaces, and rings with colored stones. It's all cheap goods, but eye-catching.

Leo had given them to her. For a while, she liked these little things, so he would give them to her from time to time. She didn't expect that over time, she had accumulated a box full of them.

Someone entering the room behind her, she thought it might be Lola or Lisa, so she didn't pay any attention. She played with hairpins on her own, picking them up one by one and placing them on her head. She reached for the mirror on the bedside table and examined herself from different angles.

Suddenly, a cold face appeared in the mirror, with sharp eyes fixed on her. Lillian was so frightened that she dropped the mirror.
