Chapter 217 Honey, do you have a film company?

Shirley and Lillian sat down together, and Shirley asked with a smile, "Hey, what brings you here today?"

Lillian shrugged, "Home was a drag. It's raining, and I had nowhere to go, so I got Alexander to bring me to the office."

"Looks like you two are getting along pretty well," Shirley teased.

Lillian laughed and turned to Kaitlyn, "I missed you."

Kaitlyn glanced up, "Have you been keeping up with your French? Mr. Sinclair isn't tutoring you every day, is he?"

"Kaitlyn!" Lillian said playfully. "Why do you always ask about my studies the moment we meet?"

Shirley chuckled. "You know how strict my teacher is."

"Wait, Kaitlyn's your teacher now? That's awesome. You must be learning a ton," Lillian said happily.

Shirley nodded, "Of course, Kaitlyn's amazing. She's taught me so much!"

Kaitlyn smiled, "You're exaggerating."

Seeing Kaitlyn busy with her computer, Lillian figured she must be swamped. Not wanting to be a bother, she got up to leave.

"Lillian, want to grab lunch together?" Shirley asked. "Mr. Sinclair has a lunch meeting today."

Lillian shook her head, "Nope. I'm pregnant, and Alexander doesn't let me eat out. Mr. Martin's bringing lunch from home."

Shirley nodded, "That's smart. Home-cooked meals are better. You should head back in, or Mr. Sinclair might worry."

Lillian returned to the office. Alexander was on the phone, and when he saw her, he wrapped it up.

"Honey, where's Lola?" she asked, sitting at the desk.

Alexander replied, "The executive office wasn't a good fit for her, so I moved her and Shae to marketing. It's more challenging and will help them grow."

"Got it. That makes sense," Lillian said, guessing that Lola and Shae probably didn't get along, and Alexander got tired of it.

Alexander said, "I'm swamped this morning and can't take care of you. You can stay here or go to the lounge, whatever you prefer."

"Don't worry about me; it's not my first time here," Lillian said, heading to the sofa. She wanted to be near Alexander, so she avoided the lounge.

She took out her stuff, opened some snacks, and started sketching.

The morning was busy, with department heads coming in to report. They kept glancing at Lillian, making her feel awkward. After they left, she packed up to go to the lounge.

"Are you tired?" Alexander noticed and helped her with her things, following her to the lounge.

Lillian sighed, "They pay too much attention to me. Everyone who comes in has to look at me; it's uncomfortable."

"Can't handle it? What'll you do when you have to give a speech at company events or annual meetings?" Alexander teased. "Then you stay in the lounge. Call me if you need anything."

"I've got you. No need for speeches," Lillian said playfully, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Alexander pulled her close, rubbing his nose against hers with a grin. "You're such a slacker," he teased.

Lillian blushed and smiled back.

Alexander kissed her passionately, creating a sweet moment.

Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted them. Lillian quickly pushed him away. "Go! Someone's coming!"

Alexander adjusted his clothes and laughed. "Look at you panicking. We're not having an affair."

"It'd be so awkward if someone saw us," Lillian retorted.

"No one would dare come in unless I say so," Alexander said, pinching her cheek before leaving the lounge.

Lillian closed the door and sat on the bed, her heart still racing with sweetness.

At noon, Kevin brought lunch. Seeing the eight lunch boxes, Lillian smiled helplessly at Alexander. "Kelly is so worried I'll go hungry that she brings so many dishes."

"Are you done? Do you have a lunch meeting?" she asked.

Alexander stretched and said, "It's rescheduled for tomorrow. Let's eat."

They sat together, Lillian eating while Alexander helped with the dishes. She had become used to his care during meals.

Suddenly, she remembered the time they signed the agreement and chuckled.

"What happy thought crossed your mind? You're smiling even while eating," Alexander asked.

Lillian put down her utensils, took a sip of water, and replied, "It's not something happy. I just recalled when we signed the agreement. It's only been a few months, and our relationship has progressed so quickly."

Alexander also recalled that day and said, "Honey, it's all in the past. Let's stop thinking about it."

"It's not that long ago. Why can't I think about it?" Lillian said, imitating Alexander's serious tone. "Do you think you can understand it? There are so many terms in the agreement. Do you really want us to wait here for you?"

Alexander laughed. "You never memorize vocabulary this quickly. After all this time, you still remember my words so fluently. I really don't know what to do with you."

"Do you think you were over the top back then? Now, you can't face it, right?" Lillian asked arrogantly. "However, don't you think my acting is pretty good? Honey, do you have a film company?"

"What are you planning? Do you want to enter showbiz?" Alexander asked, raising an eyebrow.

Lillian joked, "I'm beautiful and a good actress. Why can't I enter showbiz?"

"Of course not. Even if I had a company, I wouldn't let you in!" Alexander said seriously.

Lillian pouted. "You're taking it seriously. I was just joking."

Alexander laughed. "Alright, I never know what you're thinking every day!"
