Chapter 244 Angela and Theodore Travel Together
Caspian looked at her and asked, "What do you want to talk to me about? Is it about yesterday's incident?"
Wendy thought, 'It looks like he hasn't forgotten.'
Wendy said to him very seriously, "Caspian, I hope you won't make me the fall guy anymore. Please don't involve me into your issues with Ms. Phillips! Thank you!"
Caspian touched his nose, chuckled, and said, "I wasn't making you the fall guy. I remember everything I said last night."
Wendy looked at him, puzzled. "What do you mean?"
He replied, "Isn't it obvious? I'm saying that at the end of next month, I'm going to marry you. I'm serious."
Wendy was exasperated and angrily said, "Do you know what you're saying? Who wants to marry you? If you want to annoy Evelyn, find someone else. I'm not playing this game with you!"
"I'm serious," Caspian said. "I'm completely over Evelyn now. It's time for me to find a girlfriend and settle down."
"Then find someone else. Why should it be me? Several girls in the studio admire you. You can go to them!" Wendy said, exasperated. "Don't disturb me."
As she spoke, she was so angry and anxious that tears started to fall.
Caspian tilted his head and laughed. "Are you crying out of anger or fear? Alright, I won't tease you anymore. I was joking earlier. I'm sorry about last night. Don't cry."
Wendy was stunned for a moment. "Are you joking?"
"You seem pretty innocent, so it's fun to tease you," Caspian said, ruffling her hair.
Hearing this, Wendy finally breathed a sigh of relief, but then she stomped in anger and couldn't help but curse, "Are you crazy? Why tease me? You're so wild that you could do anything. I was so scared I didn't sleep well last night."
"The dark circles are quite obvious." Caspian pointed out. "Get some sleep, and stop yelling at me." With that, he returned to the game room.
Although Wendy had been teased, she felt much better now that things were cleared up. She happily went back to her room and told Lillian and Angela about it.
"I told you he wasn't serious. Now you can relax," Angela said nonchalantly while playing with her phone.
Wendy said, "Anyway, I told him not to involve me anymore, or I really would be rude."
"How do you want to be rude?" Lillian asked, amused.
"I haven't figured it out yet," Wendy thought for a moment and answered honestly.
Angela said, "I think Caspian won't do it again. He said he's over Evelyn, so there won't be any more entanglements. He should be over it by now, or he'd be a fool!"
"Let's hope so," Wendy said. "He did look pretty miserable earlier, and his face didn't look good. He probably didn't sleep well last night either."
Angela sneered.
By evening, the rain finally stopped. The group drove away from the villa and returned to the Rihegde.
The next day, Wendy was waiting to get off work. After work, she and Angela were planning to go on a road trip.
Suddenly, a message came through the work group chat. A few seconds later, everyone in the office was complaining.
"What? Overtime?" Wendy thought she was seeing something wrong and rubbed her eyes to check again. Indeed, it was a message about working overtime.
"Can I refuse the overtime pay and not work overtime? I was planning to go out after work," Wendy complained with her colleague.
Her colleague said helplessly, "Didn't you see the notice? Due to business reasons, I guess we either signed a big contract or the previous clients are dissatisfied and need a lot of changes. So, don't think about it and work overtime."
Wendy slumped over her desk in agony and reluctantly called Angela to inform her.
Angela answered, "Then just focus on your overtime. We'll go out next time we have a break."
Wendy weakly agreed and ended the call, her good mood gone.
Angela's car was parked outside the studio. Upon receiving the news, she couldn't help but feel dejected. She had made extensive preparations, and now they seemed all for nothing. It felt like a complete waste of effort.
Just as she was about to drive away, her phone suddenly received a message. She opened it and saw it was from Theodore.
Theodore: [Angela, do you have any plans for the holiday?]
Angela replied: [I was planning a road trip with Wendy, but she has to work overtime, so we had to cancel. I am still figuring out what to do.]
Theodore: [Road trip? Where were you planning to go?]
Angela replied: [We were planning to go to the prairie, but now we can't. The travel plans are wasted.]
Theodore replied: [They're not wasted. I also want to go to the prairie. How about we go together?]
Angela was caught off guard by the sudden invitation, thinking, 'Is it appropriate to go with him?' As she hesitated on how to respond, Theodore called her directly.
"How about my suggestion? Although it's a bit last minute, we can come back a couple of days later. I haven't been to the prairie in years, and your plan will really come in handy this time.," Theodore said.
"Just the two of us?" Angela asked.
Theodore replied, "My friends already have plans. If your friends want to join, they can come too."
Seeing how straightforward he was, Angela felt she was being a bit too sensitive. Going on a road trip together wasn't a big deal, and she was really reluctant to let her carefully made plans go to waste.
"Alright, let's go together then," Angela said.
Theodore chuckled and said, "I'll go home to prepare. It will take about an hour. There are just the two of us, so I think one car will be enough. What do you think?"
Angela agreed, "I only have a regular sedan with limited space, so it might not be very comfortable for you. If you have a larger car, let's take yours."
Theodore replied, "Alright, I'll call you later."
Angela ended the phone and suddenly felt a bit dizzy. Was their relationship progressing too quickly?
Soon, it was the holiday. Lillian and Alexander had breakfast and then returned to the Sinclair Villa.
On the way, she asked, "Tomorrow is Grandpa's birthday. What gift did you prepare?"
Alexander replied, "It's not some rare treasure, just an antique. Grandpa likes collecting them."
Lillian said, "That's true. Grandpa has seen all kinds of good things in his life. It's best to give him something he likes."
Alexander held her hand and said, "There will be visitors today, and it will be noisy. You can stay in the room. If Beatrice and the others come to find you, message me on Facebook, okay?"
