Chapter 126 Returning Together to Sinclair Villa

Alexander, with an expressionless face, said to her, "Go out and work."

Lillian, seeing that he did not seem impatient, gathered her courage and asked, "Mr. Sinclair, have you calmed down?""Of course not!" He looked up and glared at her.

"I understand," Lillian said dejectedly. "I hope you calm down soon. Being angry all the time is bad for your health. I'll go out and work now."

"After work, we'll go back to Sinclair Villa together," Alexander said from behind her.

"Why do we go there? Does Samantha ask us to go back?" Lillian was startled, feeling uncomfortable at the thought of Samantha's gaze.

"What do you mean?" Alexander asked, frowning.

"I understand," Lillian said, shrinking her neck and quickly leaving.

Kaitlyn had yet to return from recruiting a secretary. Lillian turned on the recorder and diligently organized the notes. Suddenly, when there was the sound of the elevator, Shae returned, brimming with excitement."Has Mr. Sinclair returned?" she asked with a smile.

"He has already returned," Lillian replied.

Shae entered the office and said, "I'm back."

"Where do you go? Don't I tell you to stay in the office?" Alexander asked.

"I am so bored being alone, so I go out for a walk." Shae, thinking of the interview where she performed well and was likely to be hired, couldn't stop smiling.

"What good thing happened? You come back and sit there grinning," Alexander asked.

"Nothing, I think of something funny. Don't mind me. Go ahead and work," Shae said.

Before the end of the day, Kaitlyn returned. She had initially planned to transfer secretaries from various departments but could only get two, as the other departments disagreed. This time, she was particularly careful in recruiting, considering all conditions.

"Is the recruitment over? Thank you for your hard work, Kaitlyn," Lillian asked.

Kaitlyn said, "Two candidates perform very well today. I plan to hire them as interns first and observe them for a while before making a decision."

After work, Kaitlyn left some homework for Lillian and then left. Shirley also came over to say goodbye.

Lillian looked at the closed office door and couldn't help but think, 'A man and a woman alone in the office, what are they doing?'

She packed her things and, seeing that they hadn't come out yet, got up and knocked on the door.

"Mr. Sinclair, it's time to go," she said softly at the door.

Alexander was still busy with work. Hearing her, he merely lifted his eyes to glance at her. Shae, sitting on the sofa, turned to look at her and smiled. "Ms. Hill, you can leave first. Mr. Sinclair is going back to Sinclair Villa today."

Lillian looked at her, pondering how to respond.

At this moment, Alexander said, "She is going back to Sinclair Villa with us."

Shae asked in astonishment, "Why are you taking a secretary back to Sinclair Villa with us?"

Her eyes widened as she realized and asked incredulously, "Alexander, is Ms. Hill your wife?"

"Are you really that surprised? Don't Caspian and Evelyn tell you?" He walked to the coat rack, took down his coat, and put it on.

Shae stared at Lillian with wide eyes, pointing at her and asking, "Are you two really married?"

Lillian nodded.

Alexander walked over and said to Shae, "Lillian and I are legally married. Let's go."

Shae still couldn't believe what she had heard and asked Alexander, "Why do you marry a secretary? Do you really love her?"Hearing this, Alexander and Lillian looked at each other simultaneously. Lillian stared at him intently, wanting to know how he would respond.

"Two people who don't love each other can still get married," Alexander said with a smile, heading towards the elevator first.

Lillian was momentarily stunned. She had carefully observed Alexander's expression just now but couldn't catch any details. Lillian blamed her dullness. She couldn't discern whether his words were true, false, or somewhere in between.

"Ms. Hill, you must have used your position as Alexander's secretary to marry him, right?" Shae asked bluntly.

While abroad, both Evelyn and Caspian had told her about Alexander's marriage registration, but they had tacitly not mentioned Lillian's identity. She had assumed it would be someone of equal social standing and hadn't asked further. But to her surprise, a mere secretary had become the president's wife. Naturally, she was indignant. She considered herself excellent, yet she couldn't surpass a secretary!

Lillian's face turned somewhat unpleasant as she replied, "It is Alexander who wants to marry me. If you want to know the reason, you should ask him."

Lillian thought, 'Since you speak rudely, I won't be polite to you either.'

Shae was choked by her words, saying, "You're getting arrogant! Do you think you can be complacent just because you're Mr. Sinclair's wife? You should know, if Mr. Sinclair can marry you, he can also divorce you. Don't get too smug in front of me!"

"Mr. Sinclair?" Lillian asked mockingly, "Why don't you call him Alexander anymore?"

"What I call him is my business. It has nothing to do with you," Shae said angrily, giving her a resentful look before striding forward to enter the elevator alongside Alexander.

Lillian was very angry but had no choice but to jog over and enter the elevator.

When Samantha received a call from Alexander saying he would be home for dinner, she was so happy that she cooked two of Alexander's favorite dishes. Just as she placed the dishes on the table, they arrived.

"You're back," Samantha said, in a good mood today. Even when she saw Lillian, her tone was softer than usual.

"Mom," Lillian called her awkwardly.

Shae, who came in behind them, walked over to Samantha affectionately, took her hand, and asked with a smile, "Auntie Samantha, I come too. I just returned to the country and thought I should visit you. How have you been this past year?"

The moment Samantha saw Shae, her smile vanished. She asked in a stern voice, "Who invited you here?"

"Auntie Samantha, I beg Alexander to bring me to visit you," Shae said with a smile, " You haven't changed much. You still look so beautiful."

Samantha forced a smile. "Really? You haven't changed much, either. Let's eat."

Ethan descended the stairs, seeing Shae, smiled,, "Shae, when do you return?"

"Uncle Ethan, I just got back," Shae replied.

"Alright, join us for dinner," Ethan said.

The group went to the dining room to chat and eat. Lillian sat next to Samantha and could clearly feel her displeasure. She noticed that Samantha's gaze towards Shae carried a hint of resentment.

'Is it resentment? No, that can't be. I must have been mistaken.' Lillian quickly denied her thoughts.

Samantha, looking at Shae sitting opposite her, was also pondering. 'Shae has never visited before, but now that Alexander is married, she comes to visit. She must have some other motive!'

After dinner, Shae volunteered, "I'll clean up. You all go to the living room and have some coffee."

Ethan said, "It's not right to let you do the work. Besides, we have maids at home. You don't need to do it. Come and chat with us."

Samantha said to her, "Shae, why don't you come with me to make some coffee?"
