Chapter 257 The Dispute Between Shae and Adam

Blake sighed in frustration and asked, "Shae, are you free? Can you come out and chat with me?"

Shae teased over the phone, "Blake, what's up? Did you fight with Nico?"

"Let's talk in person at the same bar as last time." Blake ended the call, exhaled, and went back to his room.

Nico was lying on the bed when she saw him changing clothes and leaving. Unhappily, she asked, "It's already night. Where are you going?"

Blake grabbed his phone from the bedside table and told her, "Some friends called me out for a few drinks. You go ahead and sleep."

Nico's face instantly darkened and questioned, "I had a miscarriage, and you still feel like going out for drinks? Don't you know how to stay with me?"

Blake said indifferently, "It's already night. Just get some good sleep. Do you need my company? If you need anything, call my mom." With that, he quickly left.

Seeing that he didn't care about her at all, Nico angrily threw his pillow on the floor and cursed, "Bastard!"

At the bar, Shae arrived first. She sat at the bar and ordered herself a drink. Soon, Blake hurried in.

"Shae." Blake sat next to her, waved to the bartender, and ordered a drink as well.

Shae turned to look at him and said understandingly, "What's going on? Did Nico find out that I'm going to be your secretary and get upset? It's okay, and don't worry. I can find another job. Don't let it affect your relationship."

Blake took a sip of his drink and said dejectedly, "It's not about her. It's my problem."

"What happened? Are you not at the branch office anymore?" She asked again.

Blake shook his head silently, gave a bitter smile, and said, "Justin kicked me out of the Sinclair family, and the company was taken back. I have nothing now."

"Really?" Shae asked in disbelief. "What did you do to upset Justin?"

Blake sneered and said, "How could I upset him? I can't even flatter him enough. Someone set me up. Everyone can see who framed me."

"Are you saying Alexander framed you?" Shae's eyes shifted, and she asked uncertainly. "Could it be him? You're his brother. Why would he set you up? Maybe you're misunderstanding."

"Precisely, since I'm his brother, he wants to frame me." He held the glass to his lips, smirking. "It's not over yet. Who knows who will win in the end."

Shae drank her drink in silence, calculating in her mind, 'Mr. Justin Sinclair never liked Blake. Now that they kick Blake out and take everything back, his life has hit rock bottom. It's almost impossible for him to make a comeback. I could use his status as Alexander's brother, but now it seems unnecessary.'

"Blake, don't be too upset. Maybe Justin will calm down after a while," Shae comforted him.

"Justin wants to kill me. How could he calm down!" Blake said angrily, gripping his glass.

Seeing that he was now useless, Shae lost interest in chatting further and said, "Blake, it's getting late. I'll head home first. Don't drink too much and go home early."

Blake saw her stand up to leave and grabbed her hand, saying, "Shae, it's still early. Stay with me a bit longer. I'm feeling down and have no one to talk to."

"Isn't Nico at home? She's your wife," Shae said, trying to discreetly pull her wrist away.

Blake sneered, tightening his grip on her hand, and replied disdainfully, "She lost the baby and has been sulking every day. Who wants to look at her?"

Shae thought, 'Did Nico lose the baby? It seems the Sinclair family is in quite a mess this time.'

"Then, you shouldn't drink. Isn't Beatrice waiting for you at home? You should go back." Shae struggled to free her wrist and, losing patience, said. "I'm leaving. Bye."

Leaving the bar, Shae looked back to see he wasn't following and exhaled, cursing softly, "Bastard!"

Standing by the roadside to hail a cab, Shae was still thinking about how to approach Alexander now that Blake was no longer useful. A cab came, and she waved it down.

Just as she was about to get in, Adam suddenly pushed her aside and took the cab, saying, "I'm sorry. I have an urgent matter. You can wait for the next one."

Shae had never encountered such a thing. How shameless could he be?

She grabbed Adam by the collar and yanked him out, angrily asking, "How shameless can you be? Did you hail this cab? Do you understand 'first come, first served'?"

Adam hadn't drunk much tonight and was in a hurry because his lover was waiting at the hotel. Recognizing Shae, he laughed and said, "It's you again?"

Shae recognized him, too, and said with a sidelong glance, "I must have bad luck today! How can you be so shameless, taking my cab!" She glared at him and got into the cab.

Unfazed, Adam squeezed in after her and said, "You don't mind sharing, do you?"

"Get out! I don't mind! Get out!" Shae pushed him unceremoniously.

After being scolded, Adam's face darkened. He said, "Fine, keep nagging, and I'll throw you out!"

Shae shouted angrily, "Who are you arguing with? This is my cab. Get out! Of course, I'll scold you for this behavior!"

Adam pointed at her, gritting his teeth. He shouted, "You want a beating, don't you? Either sit quietly or get out. Don't piss me off!"

Seeing the argument and losing money, the driver said, "Where are you both going? If it's on the way, hare the ride!"

"Felicity Street."

"Fairy Hotel."

They spoke simultaneously.

The driver laughed and said, "You two stop arguing. It's on the way."

They sat side by side in the back seat.

Shae said, "You sit in the front. Don't sit next to me."

"I'm afraid of sitting in the front. You go." Adam leaned back, arms crossed, eyes closed.

Shae said, "I don't like sitting in the front of a cab!"

"Then, there's no choice. Sit quietly," Adam said gleefully.

Twenty minutes later, the cab stopped in front of the Fairy Hotel. Adam glanced at the meter, pretended to check his pockets, and then said to Shae, "Sorry, but you'll have to cover the fare. I didn't bring any money."

Shae remarked, "Call your friend to bring money."

"My phone's dead." Adam showed her his black screen phone with a smirk.

Shae, not wanting to argue, turned away and said, "Get lost!"

Shae thought, 'What bad luck to run into him tonight!'
