Chapter 294 Lillian's Smooth Delivery

Soon, Alexander came running, drenched in sweat, and asked Leah, "Where's Lillian?"

"Still in the emergency room," Leah replied. "The nurse just told me she might need surgery."

Alexander stood with his hands on his hips, panting heavily as he stared at the emergency room door. Silently, he prayed, 'Please, honey, don't let anything happen to you.'

Over ten minutes later, a nurse came out of the emergency room again. Seeing Alexander, she asked, "Are you Lillian's husband? The patient needs immediate surgery. Follow me."

Alexander filled with worry, "Is it a Cesarean section? Is Lillian going to be okay?"

The nurse said, "Don't worry, the situation is still under control."

Alexander followed the nurse through the procedures, signing documents and making payments. Meanwhile, Lillian was wheeled into the operating room.

Alexander paced back and forth, feeling anxious and uneasy, more nervous than he had ever been.

Leah tried to comfort him, "Alexander, sit down. The doctors perform so many Cesarean sections every day, they won't make a mistake."

"How did Lillian fall in the first place?" he asked sternly, then turned to Gina, "How were you taking care of her?"

Gina recounted the events and then said remorsefully, "Mr. Sinclair, it was indeed my fault. I should have accompanied Mrs. Sinclair when she went to see Leah off."

Since they were in the hospital, Alexander didn't lose his temper.

He told Leah, "We don't need so many people here. You can go ahead with your things."

At that moment, Kevin arrived with a brand-new phone. "Mr. Sinclair, the SIM card is installed, and all the usual apps are downloaded."

Alexander took it, swiped through his phone, and nodded in satisfaction.

Leah's eyes lit up when she saw Kevin. She said to Alexander, "I'm also worried about Lillian. I want to see my new nephew, I'm not leaving."

Alexander glanced at her and said, "Then stay here. I'll call my mother."

He walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window and said to Kevin, "You go back to the office. Report to me if anything comes up."

"Yes, Mr. Sinclair," Kevin replied and left.

Leah had thought Kevin would stay with Alexander, but when he was sent away, she felt a bit annoyed and reluctantly waited.

Alexander first called Samantha to inform her and asked her to come over. Then he called Lisa. The postpartum recovery center had already been arranged beforehand, and everything was ready for after the birth.".

The waiting was torturous, and Alexander was very anxious. Samantha arrived immediately after receiving the call, and Lisa arrived at the same time.

Samantha, being proud, didn't bother to speak to Lisa. Lisa, in turn, didn't try to please her and just focused on keeping Alexander happy. So, after a brief greeting, they didn't talk further.

Time passed slowly, making the wait outside feel excruciating. Suddenly, the light above the operating room went out.

Everyone gathered at the door, waiting for someone to come out.

Soon, a nurse emerged, smiling and announcing, "It's twin boys. The babies have been sent to the incubator. The mother will be out soon, don't worry."

Hearing this, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and smiled with joy.

"When will the mother come out?" Alexander, still worried about Lillian, asked.

"Very soon, they're just stitching her up," the nurse said before turning back inside.

Samantha and Lisa excitedly called friends and family to share the good news, laughing and repeatedly saying thank you.

Alexander stood at the operating room door, waiting for Lillian to come out.

After a while, Lillian was wheeled out, conscious but looking very weak.

"Honey, you've worked so hard, I love you," Alexander said, leaning down to gently kiss her forehead.

Lillian frowned slightly, glanced at him, and then slowly turned her head away.

"Lillian is tired, let's get her back to the room," Lisa said with a smile.

Alexander stood up, puzzled. The look she had given him was full of disgust. Why was that?

After returning to the VIP room and settling everything, Lisa sat by the bed and softly said, "You gave birth to twin boys, Lillian, you're amazing!"

Lillian smiled weakly, "They've been sent to the incubator, right? Did the nurse say when we can see them?"

"Not yet, but I'll ask later," Lisa reassured her. "You had a premature birth, so it's normal for them to be in the incubator. Don't worry, they'll be fine in a month."

"I'm not worried," Lillian said, her eyes half-closed.

"Get some sleep. I won't talk to you anymore," Lisa said, patting her gently.

Alexander called Kelly to share the good news. Kelly was so excited she was almost incoherent, her voice choking up, "I'll start making soup right now and bring it over."

Lillian fell asleep, and Leah left. Outside the room, Samantha and Lisa sat on the sofa without talking.

Alexander walked over to them and said, "Kelly will come to take care of Lillian later. We don't need so many people here. Mom, Aunt Lisa, you should go home and rest. I will handle it."

"I haven't seen the babies yet," Lisa said, disappointed. "Alexander, ask the nurse if we can see them. I'll leave after that."

Samantha agreed, "Yes, I want to see my grandsons too."

Alexander said, "I'll ask the nurse. You two can come with me."

The nurse led Alexander and the two women to the nursery. Standing outside, they gazed at the two babies in the incubator. Alexander looked at his sons, their eyes tightly shut, appearing so tiny and fragile. His eyes reddened with emotion and heartache.

Seeing the babies, Samantha and Lisa started talking like old friends.

"Even though they're small and have their eyes closed, look at their features. They look so much like Alexander," Lisa said confidently.

Samantha nodded in agreement, "Look at this one. I don't know if he's the older or younger brother, but he seems to be frowning."

They both laughed and took out their phones to record videos of the babies.

After sending them off, Alexander returned to the room. He sat by the bed, gently stroking Lillian's head, feeling incredibly content and happy.

Lillian slowly regained consciousness. The anesthesia hadn't worn off completely, so her wound didn't hurt, but the pain in her heart was indescribable, a pain she found difficult to express.

She opened her eyes slowly, startling Alexander. He laughed and said, "Honey, you're awake?"

Lillian looked at him seriously and said coldly, "Take your hand off me. Don't touch me with the same hands you used to hold Amy!"
