Chapter 255 Alexander and Lillian Leave Sinclair Villa
The next day, after Lillian and Alexander had breakfast at Sinclair Villa, they were ready to head back.
Before leaving, Linda said to her, "Take good care of yourself and the baby. If you're in a good mood, everything will be fine. Call me when you have time, and we can chat."
Lillian replied, "Okay, Grandma. You should take care of yourself, too."
Samantha, perhaps in a good mood due to Beatrice's downfall, was much kinder to Lillian. With a slight smile, she handed her a card and said, "Take Alexander with you to buy some things for you and the baby when you have time. We can't keep up with young people's tastes, and we don't want to buy things you don't like. So, I'll give you the money."
This side of Samantha left Lillian feeling flattered. She declined, "Mom, Alexander, and I have already bought some things. We don't need more. You should keep the money for yourself."
"We'll all be happy. Why are you refusing? As a member of the Sinclair family, do you think I can't afford to give you some spending money?" Samantha couldn't stand her refusal and said disdainfully. "Why don't you know how to get along with people?"
Her good mood was completely ruined!
Lillian obediently took the money and said, "Thank you, Mom."
Lillian thought, 'Samantha is right. Take it and express your appreciation. Why should I refuse? Like Harry's relatives, sometimes they give money to the younger generation out of obligation. However, Samantha isn't like that; she genuinely wanted to give me some spending money, so there was no need to be polite.'
'Different classes lead to different mindsets.' Lillian sighed inwardly and couldn't help but glance at Alexander.
Beatrice and Blake, who had stayed over at Ethan's place last night, had breakfast in their living room this morning and were preparing to leave.
As the courtyard buzzed with conversation, Beatrice and Blake, accompanied by Ethan, walked out. Undoubtedly, Ethan was the most awkward person in the group.
"Ethan, Alexander, and Lillian are leaving. Aren't you going to see them off?" Samantha asked with a displeased look.
Beatrice said to him, "Ethan, you don't need to see us off. I'll have Blake call a car."
Ethan said, "Wait here for a moment. I'll say a few words and then drive you back."
With that, he walked over to Alexander and Lillian and said, "Thanks for staying here these past few days. Go home and get some rest."
Alexander responded indifferently, and Lillian said, "Dad, we're leaving now." Then, the two got into the car.
Watching the car drive away, Samantha asked him with a stern face, "Are you going to see them off?"
"What else? This place is so far from the city center. How are they supposed to leave?" Ethan glared at her and walked towards the garage.
Linda said, "You always lose your temper, pushing Ethan right into Beatrice's arms." With that, she hobbled back into the house.
Samantha and Beatrice, standing close to each other, exchanged glances, while one had a mocking smile and the other a scheming one.
"Samantha, you should work on your complexion. Your face looks so sallow; it's unattractive. I'm worried Ethan might find you disgusting," Beatrice mocked.
Samantha smiled indifferently and asked, "How could he find me disgusting? We've been married for so many years. However, if anyone's disgusting, it's him making me feel that way."
"You dare to speak your mind." Beatrice chuckled. "Aren't you afraid Ethan will get angry if he hears you?"
Samantha said, "Beatrice, you're leaving, and you're still trying to stir up trouble here. Aren't you tired? You've been kicked out of the Sinclair family, and you have nothing to do with Ethan anymore. Stop trying to seduce him."
"Whether we have a relationship or not isn't up to you!" Ethan suddenly spoke from behind Samantha, his voice filled with anger.
Samantha turned around in shock, not knowing when he had stood behind her.
"Do I disgust you? Then you can leave the Sinclair family, too!" Ethan said unceremoniously.
Samantha raised her head proudly and asked defiantly, "Why should I leave? I haven't done anything disgraceful outside!"
Beatrice looked at Samantha with a triumphant smile and raised her eyebrows provocatively.
Samantha, seething with anger, narrowed her eyes at her as if to say, "Don't be so smug. I don't care about a douchebag like Ethan!"
The family driver drove them away.
In the car, Ethan said to Beatrice, "Beatrice, Justin is still angry. I can't visit you for a while. If you need anything, tell my assistant. He'll handle it for you."
Leaning on his shoulder, Beatrice said gently, "Ethan, you're so good. Samantha still despises you. I'm grateful she does so that we can be in love like this."
Ethan patted her shoulder and continued, "Don't worry. I won't abandon you. The company is gone, but that's okay. Next time, I'll get you a store. You can figure out what to run and pass the time."
Beatrice nodded slowly and said, "That sounds good. Managing a store is much less stressful than managing a company."
Blake, sitting in the front, said insensitively, "I'd rather be stressed and get my branch company back." He turned to Ethan and asked. "Dad, can't Justin give me back the branch company?"
Ethan, realizing his lack of self-awareness, became furious and scolded, "How dare you say that? Justin doesn't even acknowledge you as a member of the Sinclair family. Why would he give you the branch company? You're lucky to stay in Ridgewood, and that's because I begged for it. I'm solving your problems, and you're still complaining. Let me tell you. I only care about Beatrice. I don't want her to suffer with you. Otherwise, do you think I want to deal with you?"
Blake, unwilling to hear this, looked out the window and pleaded, "Fine, it's my fault. I shouldn't have said that, okay?"
Beatrice sighed, feeling both angry and helpless towards Blake. To regain control of the Sinclair family in the future, she put on a smile and tried to appease Ethan.
After returning home, Lillian and Alexander freshened up, changed clothes, and took the gifts Melvin had prepared earlier to visit Lisa's house.
Lisa's home was warm and welcoming, like receiving honored guests. Adam chatted with Harry and Alexander, while Camille, unusually obedient, helped Lisa in the kitchen. Meanwhile, Lillian relaxed in her room, eating an apple and playing on her phone.
On the balcony, Alexander and Adam were together. One smoking while the other peeling nuts.
"Alexander, I'm begging you. Can you get me a different job? I really can't handle the warehouse work. Look. I've lost so much weight," Adam said pitifully, pinching his cheek to show the loose skin.
Alexander focused on peeling a walnut and said nonchalantly, "It saves you the trouble of dieting. You've only been at it for a short time, and you already want to quit. I think you should stick it out for at least a year."
