Chapter 430 Official Announcement
Wendy asked in surprise, "Do your friends have nothing to do? How did they see the message so quickly?"
Caspian smiled as he opened the New Feed, more curious than congratulatory. Wendy noticed a few other girls' avatars had sent him messages, but he hadn't opened them yet.
At that moment, Wendy's phone also rang; it was a message from Lillian.
[Wendy, check out Caspian's New Feed, he made it official!] Lillian exclaimed, [Is he still in Atlanta?]
Wendy chuckled and replied, [Lillian, take a good look at that hand.]
Not long after, Lillian screamed, [You mean, that hand could be yours? Are you two in a relationship?]
Wendy said, [Surprised?]
Lillian didn't reply for a while. Wendy guessed she was either still in shock or calling Angela.
Caspian was also busy responding to messages, a smile constantly on his face.
Lillian sat in the living room, excitedly calling Alexander, "Honey, check out Caspian's New Feed, he and Wendy are in a relationship!"
Alexander had just returned to the office and was also surprised, "What? They're in a relationship now."
Lillian said, "I thought they had no chance, but this sudden announcement caught me off guard. Looks like Caspian's trip to Atlanta wasn't in vain."
Alexander laughed, "You're so hyped about it!"
"Wendy likes him, and now her wish has come true. I'm happy for her," Lillian said. "I won't keep you, Angela probably doesn't know yet. I'll call her. Bye."
Wendy looked at the messages from her friends' group chat, with Lillian and Angela both asking how the two of them got together.
[I'll tell you all the details when I get back. I can't explain it well now.]
Angela understood and said, [Alright, we'll talk when we meet.]
Lillian asked, [How are your parents?]
[They're recovering well,] Wendy said. She didn't mention Jessica's surgery.
[That's good. When you and Angela get back, come over to my place.]
[Sure,] Wendy agreed readily.
Suddenly, a voice came from the hospital room, "Wendy, help me up, I need to go to the bathroom."
"I am coming," Wendy quickly stood up and walked briskly inside.
Jessica said, "What were you and Caspian doing out there? Just chatting away."
"I was chatting with Lillian, and he was on his phone. We didn't want to disturb you," Wendy said, closing the bathroom door. "Mom, can you stop suspecting us? Nothing is going on."
"Did you forget what I do? With my sharp eyes, do you think you two can hide anything from me? I know you're not telling me because I'm sick. I'll just wait and see when you decide to come clean," Jessica said slowly.
As Wendy helped her pull up her pants, she added, "By the way, the bank card I gave you earlier, give it back to me. I'll give it to you when you get married."
Wendy played dumb, "What card? You never gave me a card. Mom, you must be mistaken."
"You little rascal, denying it right after I gave it to you," Jessica scolded lightly, then said, "Forget it, it's yours sooner or later anyway. I won't ask for it back."
"Mom, after your surgery, you seem like a different person," Wendy said happily. "Much more understanding than before. I like it."
"There's more for you to like in the future," Jessica said. "How about I agree to you and Caspian, would you like that?"
"Mom?" Wendy asked in surprise.
Jessica sneered, her expression turning serious, "See, still not telling me the truth."
Wendy pouted, "Mom, why are you like this too?"
No matter how much she tried to guard against it, she couldn't prevent her mom's determination to uncover the truth.
The weather was getting warmer, Jessica and Patrick had been in the hospital for a month. They could have been discharged long ago, but Caspian and Wendy decided to wait until both the fracture and surgical wounds were fully healed before leaving. They also needed to go to Aurora's house.
After discussing it with Jessica and Patrick, they agreed. Both of their fractures were treated conservatively, and with the hospital's exclusive orthopedic prescription, their injuries healed quickly and well.
Jessica's surgical wound also healed nicely. The health supplements Caspian bought for her promoted wound healing and boosted her overall health, showing significant effects.
With the good weather, Jessica couldn't stay in the hospital any longer. Longing for the outside world, she urged Wendy to get discharged.
That day, Caspian arrived at the hospital early, running around to handle the discharge procedures. Wendy was in the room packing up; they had accumulated quite a few items over the month. They couldn't take all of it, so they gave it to the cleaning staff to help dispose of.
After completing the discharge procedures, Caspian returned to the room, pulling a suitcase and walking ahead. The car was already waiting at the hospital entrance, and they got in as soon as they stepped out.
"Jessica, Patrick, why don't you stay at my place for a few days?" Caspian suggested.
Patrick said, "No need, we can stay at a hotel or Aurora's place."
Caspian turned to Patrick and said, "Patrick, I guess Aurora's place isn't very spacious either. It would be quite inconvenient for you all. I checked with some good hotels, and their rooms are all booked. Stay at my place."
Wendy said to Jessica, "Mom, Caspian is right. Let's stay at his place. We can pay him rent, so we feel more comfortable. What do you think?"
Jessica thought for a moment and said, "Alright, we'll pay rent. I can't stay at your place for free."
"Sure, no problem," Caspian said with a smile, raising his eyebrows at Wendy.
Caspian's home was a villa.
Wendy helped Jessica walk in slowly, looking at the spacious house and the trees in the yard. She said excitedly, "I really like this villa."
"If you like it, stay a few more days," Caspian said, opening the main door. "Jessica, take it slow, watch the steps."
