Chapter 139 We Have No Relationship

Lillian was startled. Her heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively stepped aside, asking in astonishment, "Alexander, why are you here?"

Michael raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Mr. Sinclair, are you also here for an outing? It seems a bit late."

Alexander slowly walked towards them, stopping in front of Lillian. He looked down at her and asked, "Is this why you didn't tell me?"

Lillian hurriedly explained, "No, you misunderstood. I saw you were busy, so I didn't tell you."

Alexander sneered, then looked up at Michael and asked again, "Did you two come here together?"

Seeing Michael holding Lillian just now made Alexander very angry. If it weren't for his self-control, he would have fought him.

Anyone could see what was going on, especially Michael.

He walked over and said to Alexander with a faint smile, "I would like to meet Lillian. But we met by chance. I did not expect Lillian and me to be so fated."

"Is that so? Then Michael and I are also quite fated today," Alexander said with a fake smile, making Lillian shiver all over.

"Uncle Alexander! Lillian, come over here!" Luke shouted.

Lillian tugged on Alexander's sleeve and whispered, "Luke is calling us. Let's go over."

Alexander then drew her close by the shoulder, prodding Michael with his eyes. "I'll treat you to dinner another day."

Lillian was surprised and confused as to why he would do so in public.

"Sure, no problem," Michael replied with a smile, accidentally staring at Lillian.
With his arm around Lillian's shoulder, Alexander returned to the group. After they sat down, Kelly asked with concern, "Have you had lunch?"

"I have," Alexander replied, looking down at the various foods in the box and smiling. "You guys prepared quite a feast."

Kelly said, "We knew you were busy lately, so we didn't invite you. How did you know we were here?"

"A friend told me," Alexander replied, glancing at Lillian. He asked sarcastically, "Did you enjoy the hammock?"

Lillian looked at him, hesitated, and said, "Quite fun."

She thought to herself, 'I am an upright person with a clear conscience! Of course, I should tell the truth.'

Alexander's face darkened even more after hearing this.

At this moment, Michael walked over with a lunch box and said, "Lillian, thank you for the delicious food. It was very tasty!"

Lillian took the box and said, "You're welcome. I'm glad you liked it."

Alexander watched, his face gloomy. He hadn't even had a bite, yet she was treating others.

"Alexander," Oscar asked softly, seeing his unhappy expression, "Are you angry because Lillian didn't invite you to the picnic?"

"I'm not angry at all," he said, picking up a cookie and chewing it forcefully.

Oscar didn't dare to say anything more.

Since Alexander arrived, Luke had been asking him to play, giving Oscar a chance to rest.

"Oscar, you must be tired from playing with Luke. Did you take your medicine at noon?" Lillian was always concerned about his health, fearing any accidents.

Lying on the side playing with his phone, Oscar replied calmly, "I took it. My body is fine."
Seeing his energetic state, Lillian felt relieved. She spotted Alexander. She assumed one of his pals told him about her Facebook post. She felt unlucky and uneasy when she thought that Alexander had seen her accidentally fall into Michael’s arm. When they returned, he would chastise her.

Michael watched Lillian. He thought, 'So Lillian is involved with Alexander I had never heard of Alexander officially announcing a marriage, so she must be his mistress. Well, but the thing is that she doesn’t look the part.’

While flying a kite with Luke, Alexander remembered the scene when Michael had helped Lillian to stand steady. He thought, 'She should act properly. She hung around with other men when I wasn't there. Does she still remember that I’m her husband?’

He became furious and jealous as he thought about it. He would chastise her at home!

As the sun sank, parkgoers left one by one.

Alexander put away the kite and said to Luke, "We need to go home too."

"Uncle Alexander, can we eat out tonight? I want our family to eat out," Luke asked, looking up.

"Of course! We shouldn't make Kelly cook. She's tired today, too," Alexander said, ruffling his hair.

Lillian and Kelly were packing to depart. She glanced at Michael, who was still talking to three girls and not leaving.

Michael happened to look up at her and smiled faintly, asking, "Are you leaving?"

"Yes, it's getting late. Aren't you leaving?" Lillian asked.

"There's a circus performance here tonight. They want to watch it before going back," Michael replied.

"Really? There's a circus performance here?" Lillian was surprised. Alexander and Luke returned. "Luke, there's a circus show later. Want to watch?"
"Really? I really want to!" Luke asked, "Uncle Alexander, can we stay to watch?"

"No, you have to go back to school tomorrow," Alexander said, looking at Lillian. "Did you forget?"

Lillian had indeed forgotten and had to apologize to Luke, "I'm sorry, we can't watch the circus today. I'll take you to see it during your vacation."

"Okay," Luke said, disappointed.

As the group left the park, Alexander said to Kelly, "Let's eat out before going back. Lily will ride with me. Let's go."

They were all clearly instructed and obediently followed.

Lillian knew that by asking her to ride with him, he intended to scold her. Reluctantly, she sat in the passenger seat.

After fastening her seatbelt, she said directly, "Scold me swiftly so I may eat peacefully later."

Alexander paused, started the car, and said with a cold laugh, "You're quite proactive."

"These are all from experience. I know you're upset. You don't believe what I say, so I've already prepared myself mentally," Lillian said sarcastically.

"So, you think you're in the right," Alexander said with a laugh. "I never said I didn't believe you."

Lillian crossed her arms and sneered, "Your face shows disbelief."

Surprised by her preemptive strike, Alexander felt a bit uncomfortable with her mockery. He cleared his throat and asked, "As your legal husband, it's normal for me to be unhappy seeing you have intimate contact with another man."

Lillian said word by word, "Without other relationships, we are only legal."

"If having slept together and made love doesn't count as a relationship, then what does?" Alexander asked.
