Chapter 110 Dinner at Sinclair Villa

As they were finishing up their meal, Tom sent Lillian a private message: [Sis-in-law, is Angela looking for a purchasing agent group? I can help.]

Lillian replied: [It's for a friend of Angela's. If you can help, that would be great. Talk to Angela about it.]

Tom responded: [okay.]

The group chat was still buzzing with casual conversation, mostly led by Caspian and a few of his younger brothers. Lillian glanced at it and then exited the chat.

After work, Kaitlyn, as usual, left some homework: 120 vocabulary words and two oral presentations to be checked the next morning.

She then handed Lillian a notebook and said, "This contains detailed notes on Mr. Sinclair's preferences and tastes. Memorize it."

Lillian opened the notebook and found that it was indeed very detailed, even listing his favorite colors.

Kaitlyn spoke bluntly, "You might think you already know all this and don't need to memorize it. But what you know is from your perspective. What I'm giving you is from a secretary's perspective, so you still need to memorize it."

Lillian blushed slightly and nodded, saying, "Kaitlyn, I understand that this will be useful for business trips or dinners with Mr. Sinclair. I'll memorize it."

Kaitlyn glanced at her, picked up her bag, and said, "Mr. Sinclair doesn't have any business dinners tonight. I'm leaving now. Once you finish your work, you can leave too."

Lillian said, "I've completed everything for today. See you tomorrow, Kaitlyn."

As she was packing up to leave, Alexander came out of his office and said, "We're going back to Sinclair Villa tonight."

"Back to Sinclair Villa. Is it true?" Lillian asked, "What about Luke?"

"The family driver has already taken him there," Alexander replied, looking at her. "Don't hesitate. Let's go."

Lillian put on her coat, grabbed her bag, and followed Alexander out. As they passed the executive secretary's office, they indeed attracted a lot of attention.

On the way back, Lillian asked, "Should I buy something to bring back? I'm afraid your mom will be upset if I show up empty-handed."

Alexander said, "No need. Whatever you buy, she won't be happy."

Alright then. Lillian thought that made sense.

When they arrived at Sinclair Villa and entered the living room, they saw Madison sitting on the sofa, her eyes red as if she had been crying.

Samantha handed her a tissue and then said to them, "Are you back?"

Lillian was curious about why Madison was there and glanced at Alexander, who looked indifferent.

With Madison there, Lillian didn't dare to call Samantha 'Mom' and stood awkwardly next to Alexander.

"Alexander, I know I was wrong. Please, let our family go. The company has collapsed. My dad is so worried that he's fallen ill and is in the hospital," Madison said, walking over and crying.

"Ms. Hill, I don't know you and Alexander were married. I underestimated you. Please, have mercy and ask Alexander to be lenient and stop making things difficult for our family," Madison turned to Lillian, pleading.

'So that's what happened.' Lillian thought to herself, realizing that Alexander had taken action against Madison's family business just because of her outburst at the company.

Alexander spoke coldly, "Madison, you're not a child. You should take responsibility for your actions! The Whale Group is not a place where you can cause trouble. My woman is not someone you can bully. This time, I'm giving your family a lesson. Considering our distant family ties, I'm giving your company a chance. In the future, don't use the Sinclair family to cover up your incompetence. Take on only what you can handle. Go back and tell Rena Lynn that no one can help you!"

Having learned her lesson, Madison dared not act out anymore. She kept her head down, crying. After hearing Alexander's words, she repeatedly thanked him, "Mr. Sinclair, thank you for your leniency. I will be more careful in the future."

Samantha said, "Alexander, that's enough. Madison has had a hard time, too." She stood up and said to Madison, "Go home now. Alexander won't hold it against you anymore. Tell your dad not to worry himself sick. The company's losses can be recovered over time."

"Thank you, Auntie. I'll be leaving now," Madison said, covering her face as she left.

Samantha looked at Lillian, her gaze dropping to her flat stomach for a moment before saying, "Luke asked me to tell you to find him in the sunroom."

"Okay," Lillian replied obediently and went upstairs.

Samantha looked at her son and said, "Madison didn't make that big of a mistake. A few words of reprimand would have sufficed. There was no need to ruin their business."

Alexander sneered. "I've been fed up with the Blair family for a long time! This serves as a warning to them and makes Blake know that not everyone can be relied upon."

"Using your wife as an excuse, she might feel proud of herself." Samantha chuckled.

Alexander said, "She won't feel proud."

As Lillian walked towards the sunroom, she pondered over the conversation between Alexander and Madison. 'How much of it is about me? It's probably not much. He just mentioned it in passing, but what does he mean?'

She hated this feeling, which reminded her of the times in the Aetherland when every act he performed with her left her temporarily confused and self-deluded. Lillian made a silent vow, 'So, this time, I should see my position clearly and not have any unrealistic expectations.'

Thinking this way, she felt a sense of loss, a faint sadness that didn't feel good. Perhaps she hadn't realized this might be the budding of love.

Ethan was recovering well and was out with friends today. Leah was also not home, so it was just the three of them for dinner.

Samantha had initially wanted to urge them about having children again, but seeing Alexander's stern face, she didn't dare bring it up. She looked at Lillian, who hadn't managed to get pregnant and wasn't particularly likable. What did her son see in Lillian?

She withdrew her gaze and said to Alexander, "Your grandparents heard about your dad's hospitalization and were quite worried abroad. They're coming back next week."

Lillian thought to herself, 'How nice that he still has grandparents!'

"It's good that they're coming back. Nowhere is better than home," Alexander said. "I'll pick them up when they arrive."

Samantha said, "Your dad thinks the same. After Blake's trouble, your dad has come to realize a lot of things. He's changed quite a bit recently."

Without speaking, Alexander served Lillian a forkful of food.

Suddenly, his phone rang. He put down his fork and answered the call outside the dining room.

"Hey, what are you up to?" Caspian asked with a laugh.

Alexander replied, "Having dinner at Sinclair Villa. What's up?"

Caspian sounded mysterious, "It's something important."

"Spit it out," Alexander said impatiently.

Caspian teased. "Look, you have no patience with me. Tell me your Lillian is quite thoughtful. She asked us in the group chat today about purchasing agents to buy you some high-end chocolates. You wouldn't believe it, but this girl from a small family knows all the brands and is willing to spend on you. Are you happy?"

Alexander frowned. "Why would she buy me chocolates?"

"It's Valentine's Day, the day after tomorrow, Alexander!" Caspian replied.
