Chapter 297 My Marriage, My Decision

The Sinclair family.

Sinclair Villa is quite desolate now. Because Justin and Linda have gone to the countryside, Ethan has moved in with Beatrice, and only Samantha and Leah are left at home.

Tonight, Leah went out on a date and hasn't returned, leaving Samantha alone in the living room, drowsily watching TV.

Alexander returned and dismissed the butler and servants. He sat on the sofa with a stern face.

Samantha asked, puzzled, "What's wrong? Why do you look so unhappy?"

Alexander frowned as he looked deeply at Samantha. The noblewoman before him suddenly seemed very unfamiliar.

Samantha asked, "Why are you looking at me like that? What happened?"

"Mom, I have something to ask you, and I hope you'll tell me the truth." Alexander took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. "Back then, when Amy had the car accident, who exactly was the person that died?"

Samantha responded with confusion, "Why are you suddenly asking about this? Wasn't it Amy who died?"

Alexander said, "Was the person who died Amy? Now Shae is telling me that she is Amy, and the person who died back then was Shae. What is going on? I hope you can tell me the truth."

"Why are you asking me? Do you believe everything that woman says? How would I know?" Samantha's eyes showed a hint of evasion, but she stubbornly said.

"Mom, you were nearby during that car accident and were the first to arrive at the scene. You also accompanied them to the hospital. You know best what happened. You arranged the identity swap between the two of them, didn't you?" Alexander asked in a low voice.

"What? That's ridiculous!" Samantha laughed to cover her embarrassment and said guiltily, "Alexander, what did Shae tell you? Why would I do that? How could I make them swap identities? How could Amy possibly listen to me?"

"Today, Amy told me everything." Alexander said, "Did you know that Amy has a birthmark on her shoulder? I saw it. Shae is indeed Amy. Mom, you didn't approve of us being together back then, so you used such despicable means to separate us! Have you ever thought that what you did was cruel?"

Samantha sat steadily with a stern face and said, "I said I didn't do it, so I didn't do it!"

Alexander looked at Samantha with a pained expression, "It doesn't matter if you don't admit it. Sooner or later, I will find out the truth.!"

"Go ahead and investigate!" Samantha said angrily, "Now you're questioning and investigating me for someone who might be Shae or Amy! Do you know why I didn't approve of you being together back then? Because she wasn't good enough for you! Besides, I felt that your luck worsened after you were with her!"

What kind of reason is that? Can't he decide his marriage? Alexander found it extremely ridiculous.

"Mom, are you admitting that you did all this?" Alexander asked weakly.

"Yes, I admit it!" Samantha said angrily, "I just don't like Amy. She wants to marry you? Daydreaming!"

"Mom, who I marry is my business. What right do you have to interfere? You went to such great lengths to swap their identities. What other intentions do you have?" Alexander asked angrily.

"What do you want to ask? In your eyes, I am just a bad person. Alexander, don't forget, you are the heir of the Sinclair family, bearing heavy responsibilities. How could I allow a woman who isn't good enough for you to marry you? I did everything so thoroughly to make you give up completely and never be with her!"

"Mom!" Alexander gritted his teeth in anger, glaring at her but unable to say a word.

"Don't look at me like that!" Samantha said, "Alexander, think about it. Since Amy left, besides the sadness, what else have you lost? Your career has been thriving, and you are firmly established as the president of the Sinclair family president. Now, you have a wife and sons. What's the point of bringing this up with me now?"

"It may be pointless, but you can't keep me in the dark like a fool!" Alexander asked, "Then why did you agree to my marriage with Lily? Her condition are not as good as Amy's. Why did you accept her after I got married?"

Samantha said, "Don't you think the company's business has improved since you married her? Otherwise, do you think I would let her marry you with her ordinary conditions? Dream on!"

Alexander gave a bitter smile, "I see now. I have no control over my marriage. Everything depends on you!"

Alexander said, "Even if you were with Amy back then, it wouldn't have lasted long."

"This is absurd! Mom, you're too absurd!" Alexander laughed in anger, feeling that continuing to question her was meaningless.

He got up to leave, and Samantha called after him, asking, "Are the babies doing well?"

"Everything is great," he said coldly.

Samantha watched Alexander's back and said meaningfully, "Alexander, I don't blame you for hating me. I did all this for you, and I don't regret it. Live well with Lily, for yourself, and the Sinclair family."

"Don't talk to me about this!" Alexander said disdainfully and left.

Samantha watched Alexander leave through the floor-to-ceiling window and sighed heavily.

Alexander sat in the back, deep in thought, and suddenly asked Kevin, "Kevin, Lily, and I got married in December, right?"

"Yes, Mr. Sinclair." Kevin looked at him questioningly through the rearview mirror.

"Since we have been together, has the company secured any major projects or received any good news?"

After asking, Alexander felt that he had been influenced by Samantha and was taking it seriously enough to ask Kevin.

He quickly added, "Never mind, I know exactly what's going on.."

Kevin responded and looked at him again, puzzled.

Samantha went upstairs to her room, stood by the window, and made a phone call. After a long time, someone answered with a tired, hoarse voice, "Who is it?"

"It's me." Samantha said forcefully, angrily asking, "Amy, you finally couldn't hold back and told the truth! Do you want to see the Anderson Group go bankrupt? Do you want to see your father and brother arrested? Fine, just wait. I'll make sure all your wishes come true!"
