Chapter 121 Alexander Thought Lillian Was Waiting for Him

In the bar, Alexander was drinking and chatting with Theodore, Caspian, and Tom.

Caspian and Tom were downcast, drinking in silence.

Alexander looked at them with disdain and first asked Caspian, "What's wrong with you? Does Evelyn give you a hard time again?"

Caspian, with a bitter face and gritted teeth, said, "That damn Evelyn, I go to her studio today, but she actually kicks me out."

"And you?" Alexander asked Tom.

Tom took a big gulp of his drink, somewhat drunkenly saying, "Angela doesn't like me. I've liked her for so many years. She doesn't have any feelings for me at all. I hate it."

Alexander sneered and gave each of them a light slap on the back of their heads. "You two are really something!"

Theodore clinked glasses with Alexander and asked with a smile, "Is Lillian alright? She seemed pretty scared last night."

"She deserves to be scared," Alexander said, feigning anger. "Going to a bar at night instead of coming home, she won't dare to do it again."

Theodore tilted his head, looking at him with interest, and asked, "It seems like things are going well with Lillian now. You were so nervous at the police station last night. Is there some progress in your relationship with her?"

"Lillian is quite nice, very different from her family, very pure," Alexander said with a light laugh after taking a sip of his drink.

"Tell me more," Theodore added.

Alexander laughed and said, "What do I tell? She's just a very good girl, but there's nothing much to say. Besides, you've always thought highly of her. You're always speaking well of her in front of me."

Theodore said, "You were blinded by anger and prejudice before. Look at how much you've made Lillian suffer."

Alexander raised an eyebrow, thoughtful but silent.

Seeing his expression, Theodore couldn't help but ask curiously, "Do you like Lillian?"

"Do I like her?" Alexander snapped out of his thoughts and said frankly, "I don't like Lillian. You know who I like."

"Then do you have any good feelings for her? You've put away your prejudice against her because you have some good feelings, right?" Theodore asked again.

"Not really, no good feelings either," Alexander hesitated and said, "I put away my prejudice because of the time I've spent with her. It has nothing to do with love."

Theodore frowned slightly, puzzled, and asked, "Do you really have no feelings at all? I heard from Luke that you two even slept in the same bed at night. You should have developed some feelings."

Alexander took a deep breath. "Mr. Wellington, when do you become so gossipy? By the way, have you found your Miss Platinum?"

Mr. Wellington, on a drunken night, had an encounter with a woman. Afterward, she left money and a note. It reads: [Your skills need improvement.]

For the renowned Mr. Wellington of Rihegde, this was a great humiliation. Leaving money made it worse as if she had taken him for a service provider! This infuriated him even more!

One drunken night, Theodore inadvertently mentioned this incident. After Alexander and the others mercilessly mocked him, Caspian even nicknamed the woman 'Miss Platinum' because Theodore found a platinum necklace on the bed.

"I've been busy with business trips lately, so I have no news," Theodore said, suddenly thinking of Angela, his expression slightly dazed. He then dismissed it as his suspicion. Angela didn't have that scent yesterday, so it shouldn't be Miss Platinum.

"Alexander, do you think a girl would frequently change her perfume?" he asked, puzzled.

Alexander, not understanding, laughed and said, "I have no idea. What's up?"

Theodore shook his head. "Nothing."

Across from them, Caspian and Tom had already lost their composure. They hugged each other and cried, looking like brothers in distress.

"Evelyn, you better never fall in love with me, or you'll see how I'll torment you!" Caspian said.

"Angela, Angela..." Tom said.

Tom and Caspian, acting crazy, drank the strongest liquor while thinking of the ones they loved the most.

Alexander placed his glass on the table and said to Theodore, "Next time, don't bring these two out. It's too embarrassing."

Theodore smiled helplessly and pushed the two of them. "Stop shouting. Even if you shout, Evelyn and Angela can't hear you. Get up, it's time to go home."

"No, we want to drink," the two of them said, trembling as they poured more liquor.

Alexander, with disdain, said, "I'm used to Caspian being like this when he's drunk. But why is Tom acting the same? Call the driver to pick them up."

After sending the two drunkards away, Theodore said, "You don't seem to have had a good time either. Come on, I'll take you somewhere else to drink."

"No more drinking. It's getting late. I'm going home." Alexander had already called Kevin to pick him up. After speaking with Theodore, Alexander got into the car.

"Alexander really is different now that he's married," Theodore remarked.

When Alexander got home, he saw the floor lamp in the living room was still on. He checked the time. It was almost one o'clock. Who was still awake?

Lillian was sleeping soundly on her back on the sofa in the living room. Alexander walked over, bent down, and tapped her with his hand. "Lillian, why are you sleeping here?"

Seeing she didn't respond, he pushed her again. "Wake up. Why are you sleeping here? Go to your room."

Lillian mumbled in her sleep, turned over, and rolled off the sofa onto the floor, waking up with a start.

Lillian groggily woke up, rubbing her head. Seeing Alexander standing in front of her, she said in a hoarse voice, "You're back."

"Why are you sleeping here?" Alexander asked again.

Lillian sat back on the sofa, yawned, and said, "Kelly sees you haven't come back so late and says she'd wait for you. I had nothing to do, so I watched TV with her and fell asleep without realizing it. When does Kelly go to her room? She doesn't wake me."

Alexander thought to himself, 'I think you are waiting for me on purpose.'

Lillian stood up and said to him, "I'm going back to sleep. Good night."

"Alright," Alexander responded indifferently, turning to walk upstairs.

On Sunday, Lillian had set an alarm for herself because she had plans with Michael. She was woken up at seven. She had arranged to meet him for lunch and had sent him the address.

After breakfast, she went upstairs to find Alexander.

In the bedroom, Alexander had just finished dressing. He was in a suit and tie, his hair meticulously groomed. Lillian couldn't help but ask, "Are you going out?"

"Yes, what's the matter?" Alexander adjusted his tie in the mirror and turned to look at her.

Lillian said, "I want to let you know that I'll be going out too and will be back in the afternoon."

"Didn't you just meet up with your good friends? Or is it someone else?" Alexander asked.

"It's with my college classmates. I haven't seen them in a long time." Lillian felt a bit embarrassed. Lying to him was hard to do without showing it.

Alexander didn't ask further and said, "Go ahead. Kevin is driving me today so that you can take the car."

"No, my driving skills aren't good enough to risk it." She said as she walked out, but she couldn't help but look back at him, feeling that he was going to meet a woman today.
