Chapter 194 Samantha Discovered Lillian was Hospitalized for Pregnancy Preservation

"What did you just say? Boyfriend?" Lillian leaned in, eyes wide.

Wendy sighed, locked her phone, and said, "Mr. Wade is Caspian."

"What? Him?!" Lillian and Angela were floored. "How did that even start?"

Wendy, clearly annoyed, explained, "I told him to back off, but he keeps calling me his girlfriend and showing up at the studio. It's driving me nuts."

Lillian asked, "Has Evelyn given you any trouble?"

Wendy shook her head. "Ms. Phillips keeps work and personal stuff separate. She doesn't like Mr. Wade; their families set up the engagement. But it's still awkward seeing her."

Angela was fuming. "He's such a jerk!"

"He's using you to mess with Evelyn, right? What a douchebag!" Lillian said. "Did Evelyn say anything? Didn't she do anything?"

"No," Wendy said, frustrated. "She doesn't care about Caspian, so there's no jealousy. But now there are rumors I'm seducing her fiancé. Ms. Phillips cleared it up, but people still gossip."

Wendy's phone rang. She showed it to them. "I didn't reply to his message, so now he's calling."

"Did you see my message? Why didn't you reply?" Caspian asked. "Where are you?"

"What's it to you?" Wendy was pissed. "I'm heading home soon, so no dinner."

Caspian chuckled, "Looks like you went out with friends. Rest up, and we'll plan another day. Call me when you get home."

Wendy cut the call short.

"He's quite nice to you," Angela teased.

Wendy scoffed, "You don't know how good he is at acting."

"Caspian's awful!" Angela frowned. "Evelyn should clear this up. It's so unfair to you! They're still engaged."

"I'm confused how I got dragged into their mess," Wendy said. "Don't worry about me. I'll just ignore him until he gets bored."

"Take care! If you need help, tell me, okay?" Angela urged.

Wendy nodded. "Got it. Let's order takeout."

Kevin brought dinner to the hospital. At the entrance, he saw Samantha.

"Mrs. Sinclair, good evening," Kevin said awkwardly.

Samantha was surprised too. She glanced at the lunchbox. "Who are you bringing food to? Is someone in your family hospitalized?"

She had called Alexander at noon, but he didn't answer and hadn't called back. She wondered if he was avoiding her.

"I called Alexander, but he didn't answer. Were you with him today?" Samantha asked coldly.

Kevin replied, "Mr. Sinclair had a business meeting at noon, so he probably missed it."

"What's wrong with Lillian? Is something wrong with the baby?" Samantha cut to the chase.

Kevin, calm as ever, said, "Lillian and the baby are fine. She's just staying in the hospital for a few days as a precaution."

"Why the sudden need for precaution? Take me to the ward!" Samantha demanded, walking ahead. Kevin followed, quickly messaging Alexander on Facebook.

In the ward, the takeout had arrived. Angela and Wendy were eating, and Lillian joined in.

Samantha walked in and saw Lillian with a piece of fried chicken, cumin seasoning on her mouth.

"Samantha?" Lillian was startled, almost dropping the chicken.

Angela and Wendy stood up politely, "Mrs. Sinclair, good evening."

Samantha glanced at them, then at the takeout. The fried chicken looked tempting.

"Kelly, why didn't you stop Lillian from eating this?" Samantha questioned.

Kelly admitted, "Oh, Mrs. Sinclair. My fault. I'll be more careful next time."

"I only had one piece when you came in," Lillian quickly explained.

Samantha retorted, "What if I hadn't come in? Would you have eaten more? You're pregnant. Do you even realize that?"

Samantha scolded, "After a few days of home remedies, you're in the hospital. Is your pregnancy fragile, or do you not want Alexander's child? This child matters. I won't acknowledge you if you don't keep it!"

Lillian was upset. "Samantha, you're a mother too. Of course I want my child to be born safely. I don't want anything bad to happen either."

"Then take it easy!" Samantha ordered. "Stay in the hospital and don't wander around. Leah saw you today. If it had been Beatrice or her family, do you think things would be this calm?"

'So it was Leah who saw me. I wondered how Samantha knew I was hospitalized,' Lillian thought.

She replied, "I know. I usually stay in the ward." She didn't mention Oscar being hospitalized.

Samantha didn't stay long. After giving Kelly a few more instructions, she left.

As soon as she left, Wendy pouted. "Lillian, she's so scary. That aura was intense."

Lillian shrugged. "I'm used to it. Come on, let's keep eating."
