Chapter 377 Wendy Moved out
Wendy avoided Caspian's gaze, refusing to look at him. Her heart felt as if it were being stabbed repeatedly, bleeding profusely.
Her face looked pale. Being rejected by him time and again, she, as a girl, no matter how proactive, still had her dignity. What he did was hurtful.
"Caspian, you don't have to keep telling me these things. I do like you, but I also have my dignity. I'm not someone who can't live without you, nor am I someone who clings to you. I'm trying to let go of my feelings for you and treat you as a friend. But you keep bringing it up, mentioning things that hurt me. What do you mean by that? Do you even consider me a friend? What are you afraid of?" Wendy shouted at him, tears welling up in her eyes.
Caspian was surprised and stammered, "Wendy, I didn't mean anything by it."
"Forget it." Wendy turned her head away and secretly wiped her tears with her fingers. "I don't want to know what you mean. I'm fine now, you don't need to stay with me. I'll call my mom to pick me up and take me home."
"Didn't you say you couldn't let your parents know?""I miss home." Wendy looked at the dishes on the coffee table and said sadly, "I miss my mom's cooking."
She took a deep breath and added, "I won't rent this place for now, we'll talk about it later."
Caspian remained silent. He had no reason to persuade her to stay. He thought it would be better for Wendy to go home, where Jessica and Patrick could take care of her, better than he could.
A meal that started well and ended on a sour note.
Wendy went back to her room, called Jessica, and started packing her things. Over half an hour later, Jessica and Patrick arrived.
Seeing Caspian there, they were both surprised and asked in unison, "What are you doing here?"
Caspian politely said, "Don't misunderstand, I just got here. Wendy said she wouldn't rent the place for now, so I came to check."
"Is the house yours?" Jessica asked, puzzled.
"Mom, Dad!" Wendy called them from her room, "Come in quickly."
Jessica gave Caspian a sideways glance and went into Wendy's room with Patrick.
"Wendy, why are you in a wheelchair?" Jessica exclaimed and asked anxiously, "What happened?"
Wendy calmly said, "Mom, I'll tell you at home. For now, just pack these things into boxes."
Patrick said to Jessica, "Yes, let's talk at home. Let's help Wendy pack her things first."
Everything was ready. Caspian, with impeccable timing, had called a few security guards to help move the stuff. Jessica, holding Molly, followed them downstairs.
Patrick carried Wendy out of the room last.
Wendy looked at him and said, "I'm leaving now, bye."
Caspian smiled and nodded, "Bye, take care and get well soon."
In the elevator, Wendy looked at Caspian outside the door and suddenly felt that they could never be friends again.
As the elevator doors closed, Patrick looked down at Wendy's sad and disappointed expression and comforted her, "Everyone who appears in your life is just a passerby, don't be sad about it."
Wendy held back her tears and stubbornly said, "It's all in the past, I'm not sad at all."
"That's the best." Patrick adjusted Wendy in his arms and said lovingly, "You've lost weight living outside. When we get home, ask your mom to make you something delicious."
"Okay, I want to eat steak." Wendy hugged Patrick's neck and said coquettishly.
No matter how late Wendy's rebellious phase came, in times of sadness and disappointment, she would always think of Patrick and Jessica first, and the warmth of home.
Lillian hurried home to find Alexander already there, having called the family doctor from Sinclair Villa. After an examination, it was just a simple cold.
The family doctor prescribed medicine for William.
"Don't worry, it's nothing serious. He'll be fine after taking these medicines," the family doctor said to Alexander.
Lillian looked at the medicine and asked, "Is it bitter?"
"It's slightly sweet, the baby won't have trouble taking it."
Lillian breathed a sigh of relief and gave the medicine to Heather.
Alexander saw the doctor out and came back to find her leaning over the bed, looking worriedly at William.
"The doctor said it's nothing serious, don't worry," Alexander said, sitting next to her to comfort her.
"Honey, look at how fast William's breathing is because of the fever. It breaks my heart," Lillian said, it was normal for a new mother to feel this way when her child got sick for the first time.
"It breaks my heart too," Alexander said.
"Thank goodness Henry is fine," Lillian said with relief. "I wish I could be sick instead of William so he wouldn't have to suffer."
"Don't say that." Alexander gently patted her shoulder. "If you were sick, I'd be even more heartbroken. Getting sick is something every child has to go through, don't worry too much. Kelly said that every time a baby gets sick, they gain some new skills. Let's see what he learns after he gets better."
"Being a mother is not easy!" Lillian sighed.
That night, William took his medicine. It was indeed sweet and mixed with water, he drank it quickly. This made Lillian very happy, and she recorded a video of it to post on her New Feed, showing off a bit.
But Lillian forgot to block Samantha, and within minutes, she received a call from Samantha. After learning the situation, Samantha scolded her.
After hanging up, Lillian knocked her head in self-reproach and said, "I'm so stupid, why didn't I block Samantha!"
Heather said from the side, "Lillian, let me explain to Samantha. It's my fault for not taking good care of William, you shouldn't take the blame for me."
"It's inevitable for children to get sick, you and Patricia usually do a great job. Let's leave it at that, I don't want you to get scolded after I just got scolded."
Alexander came in and saw that William was asleep. He asked quietly, "Did he take his medicine?"
"Yes, he was very good. Let's go out," Lillian said, tiptoeing out of the room.
The next day, William's fever broke, and he started eating again. Although he was still a bit weak, this already made Lillian very happy.
Time flew by, and soon it was the weekend.
It snowed that weekend, and by evening, large snowflakes were falling, covering everything in white in no time.
A windless snowy day was a child's delight. Oscar took Lucas to the yard to have a snowball fight and build a snowman. Lillian sat in the warm living room, watching them play through the floor-to-ceiling windows with a smile.
