Chapter 80 Christmas Day

Alexander's gentle care took Lillian by surprise.

"I thought you had some work to do tonight. Why did you come to find me?" Lillian asked confusedly. "And why did you ask if I fell into the sea?"

Alexander's expression became serious, emitting a cautious signal.

"The servants said you accidentally fell into the sea while playing at the beach, and they are looking for you," Alexander said calmly, scanning the surroundings with alert eyes.

Lillian asked in surprise, "Which servant said that? It must have been a false alarm!"

Alexander said, "As long as you're okay."

In a dark corner, a glimmer of light flashed. Alexander furrowed his brow, reaching out to embrace Lillian's shoulder.

As Lillian was pondering the situation, realizing that it might not be as simple as it seemed on the surface, she was suddenly pulled into Alexander's embrace, which startled her.

"There's no one else here. You don't have to do this," Lillian gently shrugged her shoulders and said to Alexander.

Alexander teasingly asked, "What did I do? Isn't it natural for a husband to embrace his wife? Don't you like it?"

'I actually quite like it,' Lillian pouted and whispered in her heart. However, Lillian felt disdainful of her thoughts.

Perhaps due to the tension of being held by him, or maybe the sand deliberately played tricks on her, Lillian twisted her foot accidentally.

"Ouch!" Lillian shouted while her body shook, almost kneeling to the ground.

Alexander caught her in time and concernedly asked, "Are you alright? Did you hurt your foot?"

"I'm fine," Lillian replied.

"You can't even walk properly. What am I supposed to do?" Alexander's words sounded like a complaint, but they were filled with doting.

After speaking, Alexander bent down and squatted in front of Lillian, "Come on, I'll carry you back."

"What did you say?" Lillian couldn't believe what she was seeing and hearing.

"Hurry up and get on! Are you not willing to be carried by me?" Alexander urged.

"But I feel a little embarrassed..." Lillian said.

"Stop talking nonsense!" Alexander said annoyingly.

Lillian couldn't refuse anymore and slowly climbed onto his back, gently hugging his neck. Alexander's broad back made Lillian feel very comfortable.

"I must make it clear that it was you who volunteered to carry me, not me seducing you!" Lillian felt a bit uneasy and afraid that Alexander would misunderstand again, so she reminded him in his ear.

Alexander chuckled softly. "Was the twisted ankle intentional?"

"Not at all!" Lillian felt embarrassed and angry, immediately wanting to get down. "Let me down! My foot is fine. I don't need you to carry me!"

Alexander laughed happily, gripping her legs tightly. "I was just joking with you. Why are you getting angry?"

"Do you find what you said funny? Is it amusing for you to always think that I am seducing you?" Lillian said angrily.

Alexander turned his head. "I apologize to you. Is it okay?"

"Really?" Lillian was surprised. "Mr. Sinclair, do you know what you're saying?"

Lillian thought to herself, 'There must be something fishy! How can someone as arrogant and conceited as him easily apologize?'

"Mr. Sinclair, there is no one else here, so there's no need for you to act and pretend to apologize to me. What do you mean by this?" Lillian said with a puzzled expression.

"What do you think it means?" Alexander asked casually. He casually looked up and saw a drone hovering in the air.

"I don't know," Lillian said. "I appreciate your apology. Just don't get angry with me in the future."

Alexander withdrew his gaze from the drone, his face darkened, and remaining silent.

Lillian waited for a long time for a response, not knowing what was wrong with him. She remained silent, feeling the fierce aura emanating from him, filling the surrounding space.

Alexander carried Lillian back to the front of the small building, and they went upstairs together. After seeing her in the room, Alexander quickly left.

Lillian stood on the balcony, watching Alexander hastily leave on a scooter. A sense of unease surged in her heart as she looked at the night sky, feeling the wind gradually becoming violent as if a storm was about to come.

In the blink of an eye, several days had passed, and it was already Christmas Eve.

Rainbow lights filled the garden, and the venue was adorned with red decorations, creating a festive atmosphere. The Sinclair family members who were working outside had also returned and gathered together, chatting and laughing. Tonight, Melvin had also arranged a musical and fireworks display, making the atmosphere even more lively.

In the evening, the Sinclair family gathered in the hall of Sinclair Villa to enjoy a Christmas feast together.

According to the traditions, Lillian, Leah, and Rena, along with other young female relatives, were sitting together. Each of them had their thoughts, but the atmosphere remained friendly. Without Alexander, Lillian felt like she would never have had the chance to sit here in her lifetime.

During the banquet, the girls chatted and ate, behaving very appropriately. Even Leah, who would typically be loud and unruly at home, acted like a fair lady here.

Lillian slowly ate her food, casually listening to their conversation. Some people had studied abroad for a long time and continued to communicate in a foreign language after returning to their country. Although Lillian didn't understand those words, she found it interesting.

As the banquet entered its later stages, the elders continued to toast and chat happily. However, the girls had already finished their meals. Suddenly, beautiful music could be heard from outside, and a servant came to announce that the performance was about to begin.

Lillian had only seen musicals on television before and had never witnessed a live performance. She immediately became interested and turned to Leah, asking, "Do you want to go and see it?"

Leah, looking down and playing with her phone, mockingly said, "Same thing every year, nothing interesting. You go watch it yourself, bumpkin!"

Lillian regretted her invitation to Leah. She thought she should have gone to see the musicals by herself.

An expansive stage was set up in front of the main building, and the actors were performing. With their wonderful voices, every movement they made was powerful and rhythmic, capturing the audience's attention.

Lillian was also captivated by the performance and became excited. The actors' singing was like a fantasy, and the entire stage was filled with enchanting magic.

Suddenly, there were two loud bangs in the sky, and dazzling fireworks burst open, creating a spectacular display in the night sky.

"Wow! Fireworks!" The girls' attention was drawn to the beautiful fireworks, and they all started walking towards them.

Lillian stood still, looking up at the colorful fireworks illuminating the night sky. The music continued to play in her ears. She thought that it was what celebrating Christmas felt like.

She walked aside, stood under a streetlight, leaned against a railing, and took out her phone to call Oscar. The time difference between Aetherland and America was only one hour.

"Lillian! Merry Christmas!" Oscar answered the phone and sweetly wished her well.

Lillian asked happily, "Did you have a Christmas feast? How is Kelly?"

"Just finished eating. I'm cleaning up the kitchen. Melvin had a great time tonight, had a few drinks, and went to sleep. I also told Kelly to rest. Lillian, how is it over there?" Oscar replied excitedly.

"I'm doing well. I just finished eating, too." Lillian replied.

"Lillian! When are you and Uncle Alexander coming back? I miss you both so much!" Luke's voice suddenly rang in Lillian's ear through the phone.
