Chapter 400 Amy's Little World

Lillian didn't know whether Kevin liked Leah or not. Hearing Leah talk like that, she didn't know how to advise her.

"Leah, even if Mr. Martin likes you, Alexander won't agree. I think you should just let it go," Lillian laid out the facts in front of her.

Leah said, "I already know Alexander won't agree to me being with Kevin but is love something you can just let go of? I can't do it."

"You're right," Lillian said softly, not continuing to persuade her.

"Leah, so you're here! I heard you came, and I've been looking all over for you," Amy, dressed in a red evening gown, walked over with a smile.

Lillian was momentarily stunned to see her, not knowing how she got here or who she came with.

Amy's memory still lingered in high school. Back then, she and Leah were quite close, and she still occasionally visited her. Jared had already told Leah about her situation.

"Amy," Leah asked perfunctorily, "What do you need me for?"

"Where's Alexander? I haven't seen him in ages," Amy said. "I can't find him, he doesn't answer calls or texts, and Jared wouldn't let me go to your house. I miss him so much."

Lillian, sitting nearby, saw her looking so lost and suddenly felt sorry for her. She was immersed in her world, thinking about someone who no longer loved her.

"Who are you? Why are you staring at me like that?" Amy asked curiously when she saw Lillian.

She looked more closely, "Have we met before? Do I know you?"

Lillian replied flatly, "No, we don't know each other."

"Leah, who is she?"

Leah scratched her head, "Just call her Lillian."

At that moment, Jared walked over. Seeing Amy there, he let out a long sigh of relief. Then, noticing Lillian beside her, his expression grew serious.

"I didn't say who I was, and she doesn't remember me," Lillian said calmly to Jared as she picked up a piece of mousse cake from the buffet table.

Jared said, "Thank you, Lillian."

"I see Amy still doesn't recognize people. Has her condition not improved?"

"This kind of illness is very hard to cure. The expert Mr. Sinclair brought from Atlanta said the same thing. Just maintaining it without relapse is already good."

"So, are you planning to stay with her forever?"

Jared smiled, "What else can I do? She sees me as the closest person in the world, even more than her parents. How could I leave her?"

Lillian admired Jared for his unwavering support for Amy. And Amy, in a way, was fortunate to have Jared.

"Do you have any plans for the future?" she asked.

"Because of family reasons, it's impossible for me to marry Amy. We'll take it one step at a time. I built a simulated high school for her at home, with the servants acting as her classmates. Watching her go to school and study every day in her little world, it seems pretty good," Jared paused and said, "But she often asks me why Alexander doesn't come to school."

Lillian looked at Amy chatting with Leah and felt a pang of sympathy.

"So why did you bring her here today? To see Alexander?" she asked.

"You're right. Using family connections, I brought her to see Alexander."

"Did she see him?" Lillian asked calmly.

"Yes, she did. But she didn't recognize him. She looked from afar and told me that wasn't Alexander, that I had made a mistake."

"She even forgot him?"

Jared nodded silently, "I didn't expect it either. The man she thinks about every day, standing right in front of her, but she doesn't recognize him. However, I think it's good this way. In her heart, Alexander remains perfect."

Lillian felt a wave of emotion. 'She had endured so much injustice and suffering, both physically and mentally, only to forget the love of her life in the end. But Jared was right; this way was also good. Without hatred or obsession, her life was filled with happiness, and that was enough.'

"Let her stay in her dream. We shouldn't wake her."

Just then, Amy ran over, holding Jared's hand, "Jared, Leah said Alexander didn't come today. We came for nothing. Let's go home. I haven't finished my English homework."

Jared affectionately patted her head and handed her the cake, "Want some?"

"Did you forget I'm on a diet? I have to perform at the school's March event," Amy shook her head and then exclaimed, "Let's hurry home. I need to practice dancing. Alexander will be there that day."

Lillian watched the two leave in a hurry, smiled knowingly, and took her mousse cake back.

"Lillian, what were you talking about with Jared? When will Amy get better?"

"Just talking about her condition. She is fine now. Simple and innocent. She even forgot Alexander."

"What? She doesn't even remember Alexander? That's serious," Leah clicked her tongue and shook her head.

Lillian took a bite of the mousse and saw Cynthia walking towards them, "Leah, do you know her? Is she close to Alexander?"

Leah looked over and sneered, "Cynthia? She's a defeated opponent!"

"You two have clashed? Over what?"

"School stuff," Leah said with a look of disgust, "I really can't stand her. She's spoiled, arrogant, and thinks the world revolves around her."

"Is that a special trait of rich girls?" Lillian teased.

Leah's eyes rolled, and she realized, "Lillian, are you saying I'm like her?"

Cynthia walked over and sat down, scrutinizing Lillian, "When did you marry Alexander? Did you have marriage certificate?"

"How interesting, where did this clown come from, thinking she's the hostess of the party?" Leah couldn't help but retort before Lillian could respond.

Cynthia said, "Leah, I wasn't talking to you. Please don't interrupt; it makes you look rude. No wonder none of these rich kids are interested in you."

"Cynthia, when you accuse others of being rude, could you please check yourself first? Not to mention how impolite your gaze is, asking if I have a marriage certificate right off the bat. Do I know you well? Leah is right to speak up for me. You should learn some manners!" Lillian retorted unceremoniously.
