Chapter 390 Introducing a Boyfriend to Wendy

The dinner party continued, and Tom, after wandering around, found his way back to Wendy, holding his wine glass and toasting several more times.

Wendy, feeling tipsy, waved her hand and said, "No more, I can't drink anymore."

Caspian spoke up and said to Tom, "Tom, stop it, Wendy can't handle alcohol."

Wendy stared straight ahead, but her peripheral vision was all on Caspian.

Tom teased, "Wendy has become a protected species. Alright, I won't push her to drink anymore."

Lillian said, "You just think Wendy is easy to bully because she's single, so you keep pushing her to drink."

"I'm not bullying her; I just think Wendy is a good person and wants to bond with her," Tom defended himself.

Tom then said to Wendy, "Don't worry about being single. I'll introduce you to a boyfriend someday. How about Aaron? He's an actor."

"Really? Aaron!" Wendy exclaimed, "You know him? I like him! I'm his fan!"

"Not only do I know him, but we're also best friends. Don't be fooled by Aaron's aloof persona on TV; in private, he's a funny guy. I think you two would be a good match."

Wendy, flattered, waved her hands repeatedly, "Don't joke with me. How could I be a match for Aaron? He's my idol."

Angela, displeased, said, "Why say you're not a match? You're not lacking in anything. He's just a celebrity; don't belittle yourself."

"Angela, you're so badass!" Tom added, "To others, he's a star, but to me, he's just like any of you, no different. Wendy is beautiful and comes from a scholarly family; she's more than a match for him."

Lillian, who didn't watch TV dramas, didn't know who Aaron was. She opened her phone to search and, after seeing the photos and descriptions online, praised, "He does look good."

"What's he like as a person?" Angela asked.

Tom said, "He's got a decent character. Angela, you know, after spending a long time in the entertainment industry, even the most upright person becomes a bit slick and worldly."

Caspian, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up with a sarcastic tone, "Aaron? He's been slick and worldly since he was a kid; the entertainment industry can't take the blame for that."

"Caspian, you know Aaron too?" Lillian asked curiously.

"Alexander knows him too. We're friends, more or less. I know a bit about him," Caspian said indifferently.

Lillian asked Alexander, "So, what's Aaron really like?"

Alexander pondered for a moment, then smiled and said, "I think we should ask the people involved. Are Wendy and Aaron both willing?"

Wendy quickly said, "I'm not willing."

Angela pinched her from below, reminding her, "Are you pushing away a potential relationship?"

She added, "Why not set Wendy and Aaron up on a date? If they hit it off, they might start a relationship."

Angela then said to Tom, "Tom, you should arrange this. Is Aaron filming right now? If not, he can come over now."

"Alright, I'll call him right now!" Tom, ever the man of action, wasted no time.

Wendy was in a daze, wondering if they were really busy with her business.

Lillian, equally confused, said, "Why the rush? How did we end up setting Wendy up with someone?"

Tom dialed a video call, and after a few rings, it was answered.

"Tom, long time no see." Aaron's voice sounded, and Wendy covered her mouth in shock.

"Busy? How have you been?" Tom raised his eyebrows at everyone, stood up, and walked out of the dining room with his phone.

Wendy grabbed Lillian's hand excitedly and said, "Lillian, it's really Aaron! He's so handsome!"

Lillian said, "Wendy, you're a fan, so you think he's great. But compared to Alexander, he's still a bit lacking."

Wendy couldn't stand her words, "Lillian, that's not nice."

Evelyn couldn't take it either, shaking her arm and saying, "Lillian, you're killing me with your mushiness."

Alexander laughed happily, "Lillian, you really have good taste."

Tom's call lasted long enough for Jackson's family to finish eating and go upstairs, and for Evelyn and Amos to get ready to leave.

Lillian and Alexander were seeing Evelyn off, and as they passed the living room, they saw Tom still talking, with his phone plugged into a charger.

Lillian went up and patted Tom, "Still not done? Did you talk about the matchmaking?"

"Just about to."

After seeing Evelyn off, they came back inside and found Tom sitting next to Wendy in the dining room, holding his phone and saying, "Here, you two chat on video first. When you have time, you can meet up."

Wendy never dreamed she'd have a chance to video chat with her idol. She was nervous and shy, covering her face lightly but still peeking through her fingers.

Aaron, on the video, didn't rush her. He smiled calmly and said gently, "It's okay, just think of us as old friends catching up."

Lillian thought he was quite smooth.

Wendy finally mustered the courage to lower her hands and awkwardly waved at him, "Hi, Aaron, I'm your fan."

"Hello, Wendy. Thank you for your support," Aaron said politely.

Tom had them look at each other for a while, then took the phone back and said to Aaron, "You've seen her. Let me know tonight if it's a yes or no. I'm telling you, Wendy is pure, kind, and a good girl."

"Alright, I'll hang up now."

Wendy was beyond excited, not for any other reason but just for seeing her idol. She regretted not recording it to show off on her New Feed.

"Wendy, how was it?" Tom asked.

Wendy, calming down, said, "I'm thrilled to video chat with my idol! I'm so excited!"

"I meant, would you consider him as your boyfriend?"

Wendy was stunned and instinctively glanced at Caspian. Caspian looked indifferent, with a mocking smile on his lips.

"If Aaron agrees, then I'll give it a try. After all, I'm single," Wendy said.

Caspian suddenly asked coldly, "Wendy, you need to be clear. If you give it a try, Aaron won't just be your idol; he'll be your boyfriend. Do you like him? Not as an idol, but as a man!"

Wendy looked at him, not understanding what Caspian meant.

Instead, Angela spoke up, "Mr. Wade, you're overthinking it. Wendy likes him, whether as an idol or as Aaron. If they get together, that initial attraction will turn into love. If not, Aaron will still be her idol, no harm done."
