Chapter 392 Angela's Past

Angela looked at the tall, pine-like boy in the photo and chuckled, "If I can't get back my first love, I'll find someone who looks like him. I just can't forget him."

"Isn't that unfair to Ivan? Does he know?" Wendy asked, puzzled.

Angela couldn't help but caress the boy's face in the photo and said, "Why should I tell him? There's no need. Even though Ivan is a stand-in, I'm truly sincere and affectionate towards him. I'm not playing with him."

Lillian said, "That day when we had dinner together, I felt like Ivan looked familiar, but I just couldn't remember. How could I forget your first love?"

She then earnestly said to Angela, "Angela, your first love has been abroad for so long without any news. That means he's already unilaterally announced the breakup. Why can't you accept this fact? Using Ivan as a stand-in is deceitful."

"What am I deceiving him about? I've given him my body and soul, and I'm genuinely dating him. How is that deceit?" Angela asked.

Wendy said, "But you're using him as a stand-in, so you're deceiving him. You're giving Ivan the love that should be for your first love, so your feelings for him aren't genuine!"

Angela laughed, "Wendy, you're lecturing me about relationships now? Yeah, my values are skewed. I'm using Ivan as a stand-in. Go ahead and tell him."

At this, Lillian and Wendy were speechless.

"Angela, do you feel happy with Ivan? Or do you look at his face and painfully think more about your first love?"

"Angela, we just want you to be happy."

The two spoke with deep emotion.

Angela was silent, picking at her nails, a small habit she had when anxious.

"I'm quite happy," she said after a moment. "Ivan treats me well, and I'm sincere with him. I think, over time, I'll slowly forget him and truly fall in love with Ivan."

Lillian and Wendy exchanged a glance and said, "If that's what you think, we have nothing more to say."

"I know what I'm doing," Angela said thoughtfully.

The three of them turned their attention back to the photo.

"Angela, you met your first love after retaking the medical school entrance exam for the second year, right? How long were you together before he went abroad?" Lillian asked curiously, rubbing her chin. "He must have been a jerk! Knowing he was leaving, he still flirted with you. What kind of person does that?"

"Bad!" Angela said through gritted teeth. "When he got abroad, he only contacted me initially, then disappeared. If he wanted to break up, he could have just said so. Who would cling to him? It was a long-distance relationship, and it's understandable if it didn't work out."

"Sometimes, I reflect on myself. Am I unable to let him go? I think it's more about not being reconciled. Not reconciled to being dumped so ambiguously. Rather than waiting for him, I'm waiting for a formal breakup."

Wendy rolled her eyes at Lillian and bluntly exposed her, "Angela, admitting you still think about him in front of us isn't embarrassing. Why say all these grandiose things? If you weren't still hung up on him, you wouldn't have found Ivan as a stand-in. You still love him and think about him!"

Angela shot her a dirty look, "You think you know everything!"

She rarely got so flustered, and Lillian and Wendy couldn't stop giggling.

After laughing, Lillian said, "You two should stay over tonight; there's a room."

Angela nodded, "No problem. Ivan and I have been drinking."

"Angela has a boyfriend now, so she'll stay in the same room with him. Who's going to keep me company tonight?" Wendy asked.

Lillian thought for a moment and said, "How about Gina? Or Kelly."

"Can't you stay with me?" Wendy asked, displeased.

"Alexander drank a lot tonight. I can't leave him alone. He doesn't sleep well, and I need to be there," Lillian said, shrugging helplessly.

Angela patted Wendy's shoulder and said, "So, hurry up and find a boyfriend. Then you'll have someone to keep you company at night."

"Is Aaron reliable?" Lillian asked worriedly. "I just followed him on Instagram. He has over 20 million followers, fan clubs, and all sorts of groups. I checked the comments, and his fans seem rational and can accept him dating."

Wendy said, "Don't mention it. How could an idol date me? I'd have to be incredibly lucky! If you want to set me up, find someone normal and compatible with me."

Angela laughed, "I wouldn't agree to someone normal. Look among Alexander's friends and have Tom introduce you."

"Why? Do you want to see Caspian's reaction?" Lillian asked.

"Wasn't he anxious just now?" Angela laughed. "A few more times, and he'll pursue you himself."

"What?" Wendy said, amused. "He doesn't like me. He's told me several times, and you know it."

Angela shook her head seriously, "I don't believe it! His expression just now didn't look like it!"

"Really?" Lillian asked, puzzled. "He told Wendy to think it over. Maybe he was just reminding her? I didn't see him anxious."

Angela looked at the two with disdain, "You two don't have enough emotional experience! Just wait and see; I won't be wrong."

Wendy replayed the scene in the dining room in her mind. What she remembered most was Caspian's teasing smile. Watching Tom introduce her to a boyfriend, he could still smile. Was that a sign of anxiety?

Angela's phone suddenly buzzed with a Facebook message. Tom had sent a voice message: [You three come downstairs; Aaron agreed.]

"What?" Wendy was the first to ask in shock, "Is he out of his mind? He agreed?"

"Unexpected," Lillian also found it unbelievable.

Angela crossed her arms and said, "What did I say? You can't shut out romantic opportunities; now they're right in front of you."

She stood up and said to the two, "Let's go downstairs."

Wendy stumbled out of the elevator and saw Tom sitting in the living room, waving at the three of them.

"Wendy, Aaron said he wants to try dating you. What do you think?"
