Chapter 147 Linda Settles at Alexander's House

Lillian freshened up in her room, put on casual clothing, and tied her hair in a high ponytail, looking lively.

After seeing her, Linda praised Alexander, saying, "Alexander has good taste, finding us such a beautiful and sensible Lillian."

Samantha agreed, saying, "Mom, you're right."

The more Linda looked at Lillian, the more she liked her. She led her to the dining room and said, "I brought you some pasta made by the cook at home. It's clean and delicious. You must eat more later."

"Thank you, Grandma." Lillian had thought that since Samantha looked down on her average family background, Linda would feel the same. But to her surprise, Linda was kind, treating her so well.

After they all went to the dining room, Kelly brought pasta, paired with a vegetable salad and a fresh casserole soup.

"Kelly, what soup did you make?" Samantha asked.

"Mrs. Samantha Sinclair, Lillian can't stand the taste of meat, so I made tomato soup this morning. Lillian likes tomatoes," Kelly replied respectfully.

Samantha said discontentedly, "Kelly, you've worked with the Sinclair family for many years. It would help if you didn't make mistakes in addressing. Calling her Lillian is inappropriate."

Kelly quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Samantha Sinclair. That was my mistake. I won't do it again."

"Mom, don't blame Kelly. Alexander told her to call me that. He said it feels more intimate," Lillian spoke up for Kelly.
Samantha said unhappily, "That won't do. You are Alexander's wife, the mistress of this house. She should call you Mrs. Lillian Sinclair. Calling you Lillian is inappropriate."

"That is enough," Linda said to Samantha, displeased. "Let Lillian eat first."

Lillian ate the pasta. She didn't expect Samantha to appreciate her family background to this extent. The title Mrs. Lillian Sinclair made her feel uncomfortable all over. But perhaps Samantha was trying to establish her authority. She was a bit puzzled.

"How does it taste?" Linda asked.

After swallowing the pasta, Lillian quickly nodded, saying, "Yes. Grandma, Mom, have you eaten?"

"We ate with Alexander this morning," Samantha said. "Grandma specially brought pasta for you."

Lillian looked at Linda in surprise and said emotionally, "Grandma, you're so nice to me!"

"You are my granddaughter-in-law. Of course, I have to treat you well. I like you," Linda said.

Seeing their deep affection, Samantha couldn't help but turn to pout.

After eating, Lillian felt stuffed.

"Samantha, Lillian didn't throw up after eating. Therefore, her baby knows to care for Mommy," Linda said, overjoyed with Lillian's slightly bulging belly.

Samantha was also quite surprised and asked, "Lillian, are you okay? Don't overeat."

Lillian burped. "I'm fine, just very full."

After returning to the dining room, they chatted for a while. Seeing that it was about time, Samantha said to Linda, "Mom, we should go. Let's come again another day."
"No, you can leave. I'll stay here at Alexander's for a few days." As Alexander had predicted, Linda was reluctant to leave.

Samantha coaxed, "Mom, you brought nothing. Staying here won't be easy. Additionally, their honeymoon is still ongoing. Don't disturb them."

"That is why I have to stay! Now that Lillian is pregnant, they should refrain from intimate behavior. I'm worried about what might happen. I must stay and keep an eye on that," Linda said reasonably.

Lillian looked helpless. Linda's concern was indeed thorough.

Samantha persuaded, "Come back with me, Mom. We can return when you miss Lillian. You must return, or Ethan will be angry with me again."

"What is he unhappy about? Stop persuading me. I'm not leaving," Linda insisted. She then called out, "Kelly, Kelly!"

Kelly hurriedly ran out of the kitchen. "I'm here."

"Kelly, go back to Sinclair Villa with Samantha and bring my things. I'm staying here for a few days."

"Mom, you're native," Samantha said.

Kelly said smilingly at Samantha, "Mrs. Samantha Sinclair, Mr. Alexander Sinclair had told me that Mrs. Linda Sinclair could stay if she wanted to. The guest room has already been cleaned."

"Alexander understands me!" Linda said proudly. She then told Kelly, "Tell Gina to pack all my things, and don't forget my music box."

"Alright," Kelly said. She then turned to Samantha, "Mrs. Samantha Sinclair, please wait a moment. I'll change my clothes and be right out."

Samantha gave up after failing to persuade Linda and only reminded her, "Sleep with Kelly at night. Don't sleep alone."
"I know. Don't worry. Go back and tell Ethan," Linda said, looking at her meaningfully. "Without me, you can focus on your relationship with Ethan. Don't think I'm senile. Ethan has started visiting his mistress at night!"

Samantha glanced at Lillian awkwardly and nodded silently. "I understand."

Kelly dressed quickly and departed with Samantha. Before going, she asked Lillian if she wanted something to eat so she could bring it back.

Lillian initially wanted to say fried chicken, but knowing Linda would likely disapprove, she said nothing.

On the way back to Sinclair Villa, Samantha chatted with Kelly, seemingly casually asking, "Kelly, how are Alexander and Lillian getting along? Do they argue often?"

"Mrs. Samantha Sinclair, they have a very good relationship. They go to work and come back together every day. Now, every evening, Mr. Alexander Sinclair even tutors Mrs. Lillian Sinclair in foreign languages," Kelly replied.

Samantha furrowed her brow as she heard this. Dissatisfied, she said, "Lillian is attractive. In terms of background, education, and all aspects, she is no match for Alexander."

Kelly whispered, "Mrs. Samantha Sinclair, Lillian may not fulfill your expectations, but her character and temperament are perfect. She is kind and rules-abiding. Alexander must like her since she's great. Just be pleased and anticipate your grandson's birth."
