Chapter 272 A Good Opportunity
Alexander went upstairs to Ethan's room. When Ethan saw him, he turned his head away in anger.
"Dad," Alexander said, sitting on the chair by the bed, "you're already sick, don't be so angry."
"Samantha!" Ethan suddenly sat up, pointing at the door, trembling with anger, and said through gritted teeth, "I'm thirsty, and she won't even bring me water. That heartless woman!"
"And you!" He started to accuse Alexander, "Have you long since stopped caring about me?"
Alexander took his hand down and said, "Don't overthink it. Mother is just upset because you won't go to the hospital."
"You've already got pneumonia, why are you still trying to tough it out at home?" His tone carried a hint of reproach, "The doctor also said you might have gallstones and need to be hospitalized for tests."
"I'm fine. I am aware of my health. You don't need to worry about me," Ethan said stubbornly.
Alexander stared at him, his gaze intense, and after a moment said, "Dad, if you have something to say, just say it."
Ethan didn't hesitate and said directly, "I can go to the hospital for treatment, but the condition is that Beatrice must come to take care of me."
"Why can't Mom take care of you?"
"I don't want to see her stern face all day. Every time she talks to me, it annoys me!" Ethan's tone was full of irritation.
Alexander frowned, looking displeased, "I can't make that decision, it needs Justin's approval."
"She's someone I support! I'm sick and hospitalized, and she can't come to take care of me?" Ethan shouted angrily, then forcefully pulled out the IV needle from the back of his hand and sat there sulking.
Alexander watched coldly. For someone his age, he was causing a fuss over "love" just like a young person.
"Dad, what are you doing?" Alexander said slowly after a moment of contemplation, "I know your illness is due to being too anxious. Beatrice leaving has made you even more upset, I understand that. If you want Beatrice to come take care of you, it's not impossible. After all, your health is the most important thing. Can you go to the hospital for treatment first, please?"
Hearing this, Ethan's expression softened a bit, but he still said stubbornly, "I'm not asking for your opinion, I'm informing you. Arrange for me to be hospitalized tomorrow and have Beatrice come over."
"She can take care of you at the hospital, but returning to the Sinclair family is out of the question!" Alexander reminded him.
"I am the one in charge of the Sinclair family." Ethan roared, "I'm not dead yet!"
Alexander didn't argue with him and said, "Fine, you are the master."
He sneered inwardly. Justin already didn't like Beatrice and Blake. Now you're forcing them back, which will only make Justin hate them more. Returning to the Sinclair family? Impossible!
After calming Ethan down, Alexander left the room and went downstairs.
Samantha asked, "Is the IV done? Is he asleep again?"
Alexander sat down, nodded, and asked in confusion, "Mom, was father always this stubborn when he was young? Never giving up until he got what he wanted?"
"Always," Samantha sneered with extreme sarcasm, "Otherwise, how do you think Beatrice was allowed to be kept by him?"
"Did he make any unreasonable demands? Did he ask for Beatrice to come back?" Samantha asked calmly.
Alexander said, "Father wants Beatrice to take care of him at the hospital."
Samantha was stunned and said with a stern face, "How long has it been, and he can't stand it? Want them to return? In his dreams! As long as I'm here, I'll never let them come back!"
"Mom, calm down," Alexander said, "Right now, Dad's health is the priority. My father didn't ask for them to come back, just for her to take care of him. It's only for half a month."
"No way! They have been kicked out of the Sinclair family, they shouldn't think about coming back!"
"Mom, Has Dad reduced his visits to Beatrice recently?" Alexander laughed, "How can they not be close? If you can't control it, don't try to force it."
Samantha was very angry and said viciously, "I'll talk to Justin about this when he gets back!"
Alexander had no interest in his parents' emotional entanglements. After resolving Ethan's hospitalization, he was ready to go home.
"Take good care of Lillian. She's carrying twins, and the due date is getting closer. Be careful."
"We're very careful every day," Alexander replied impatiently, not wanting to hear these reminders, and left in his car.
When he got home, Lillian was chatting with forum friends. Seeing him come in, she immediately logged off.
"You're back so soon? Have you eaten?" Lillian asked with concern.
Alexander went to the bathroom to shower and said, "I came back right after dealing with things. Join me for a bite."
"Okay. Tonight's Mexican food is really good," Lillian said, getting out of bed and leaving the room.
Ethan lay in bed, coughing and running a high fever, but in a good mood, eagerly calling Beatrice.
"Beatrice, are you asleep?"
Beatrice, who had been busy all day and was just about to lie down, answered softly, "I was about to sleep. Ethan, your voice sounds hoarse. Is your condition getting worse?"
"I'm aging and my health has declined. I got a fever after coming home from the store today." Ethan coughed and said, "I'm going to the hospital tomorrow. I want you to take care of me."
Beatrice, who had been worried about Ethan's health a moment ago, was now surprised and delighted by this news. She asked in astonishment, "Ethan, can I go?"
"You are the woman I provide for. It's only natural for you to take care of me when I'm sick," Ethan said, "Wait for my call tomorrow."
"Make sure to rest well tonight and drink plenty of hot water. Is Samantha taking care of you?" Beatrice asked, concerned.
"Don't mention her. I won't die without her care!"
Ethan then said gently, "You've had a long day too. Go to bed early."
After hanging up, a smug smile appeared on Beatrice's face. 'Samantha, you've fought with me for so many years. Blake may not be as good as Alexander, but you're no match for me either. See, even if I'm kicked out of the Sinclair family, Ethan still can't do without me!'
Blake knocked and entered, "Mom, I left my phone here."
Seeing her smile, he couldn't help but ask curiously, "Mom, why are you smiling? Is there good news?"
Beatrice looked at Blake and said, "Blake, we have a chance to return to the Sinclair family!"
"Mom! What do you mean?" Blake asked eagerly, his eyes shining.
Beatrice explained the situation to him and then said, "This time, we can't rush things. We're just going to the hospital to take care of him, not returning to the Sinclair family. We must seize this opportunity!"
