Chapter 359 Honey, I Want to Stick With You Forever
Lillian lay on her side, with Alexander half-leaning over her from behind. He whispered in her ear, "Honey, did you forget?"
Lillian mumbled in confusion.
Alexander got up, opened the drawer of the bedside table, and then lay back on top of her, fiddling with something near her ear.
Lillian opened her eyes and asked, "Are you putting earrings on me?"
Alexander clumsily helped her put on the earring and said, "Did you forget today is our first wedding anniversary? Luckily, I remembered and got you a gift."
After putting on one earring, Alexander patted her and asked her to turn over.
Lillian's groggy mind instantly became alert, and she exclaimed regretfully, "Honey, I'm so sorry, I completely forgot."
"You were busy with your work those days, so I didn't remind you," Alexander said understandingly as he put on the other earring. "I can tell you like and value this job. I thought we'd have more anniversaries in the future, so it's okay not to remind you this time."
"Darling, perhaps my subconscious feels the same way. I tend to view our wedding day as the true anniversary, which is why I don't seem to place much importance on the date of our marriage registration." Lillian said.
Alexander smiled and said, "Get up and take a look."
Lillian went to the bathroom and stood before the mirror, gazing at the delicate butterfly-shaped earrings on her earlobes, their silver gleam captivating her.
Alexander stood behind her, holding her shoulders, and looked at her through the mirror. "Do you like them?"
Lillian nodded heavily. "Honey, thank you. I like these earrings." She turned around, leaned into his arms, and said emotionally, "Honey, you're so good to me. You respect me, love me, and understand me. You're patient and responsible. I love you so much. I can't live without you!"
Alexander smiled indulgently and said, "You're my wife. So of course I am good to you. I like you clinging to me, the more the better."
"Cling to you all the time?" Lillian looked up. "Aren't you afraid you'll get tired of me?"
"That won't happen." Alexander lowered his head and kissed her lips.
On January 2nd, they went to Lisa's house. Kelly had prepared all the gifts to take back and reported to Lillian during breakfast.
After mentioning two items, Lillian waved her hand to stop her. "Kelly, go have breakfast. Lisa will be happy with whatever I bring back."
Kelly smiled and said, "Alright."
Alexander said, "Kelly, we won't be home today. You all can take a break. Whether you go to the resort or visit family, it's up to you. Three days off."
Kelly was stunned and surprised. "Mr. Sinclair, Mrs. Samantha Adams, and Ms. Leah Sinclair are still here. If we take a break, who will take care of them?" she asked with concern.
"Don't worry, you all enjoy yourselves. I'll have two people from the hotel come over to help temporarily." Alexander said.
Lillian said, "Kelly, you and Melvin have been working hard all year, and Heather and Patricia are exhausted from taking care of the children every day. Gina and the chef tirelessly prepare delicious meals for us, constantly coming up with new dishes, which is both mentally and physically demanding. It's time for all of you to have a good rest. The New Year is the perfect opportunity to take a break and unwind."
Kelly realized this must be Lillian's idea and felt grateful to her.
"Mrs. Sinclair, thank you for thinking of us. Melvin and I don't have family, so this is also our home. Let the others take a break; Melvin and I will stay home."
"Someone will come to take care of Samantha and Leah. You can stay at the resort for two days or go on a short trip. Don't stay home; I won't allow it." Alexander said.
Kelly said, "Melvin is reluctant to spend money on trips."
Unable to persuade her, Lillian looked at Alexander.
Alexander said, "Let's have a trip until it's warmer. Kelly, you and Melvin can go to the resort and do some maintenance work. Is that okay?"
"Okay." Since Alexander had suggested, Kelly had to agree.
After breakfast, Lillian went to William and Henry's room to pack their things, like formula, bottles, clothes, diapers, etc., two of each, filling a suitcase.
"Lillian, can you and Mr. Sinclair handle it?" Patricia asked worriedly, repeatedly reminding her of various precautions.
Lillian said, "Of course! I know what to do. Don't worry!"
Downstairs, Oscar was already waiting in the living room. He got up and took the suitcase from Lillian.
Lillian said to Oscar, "Put the bags in the car first. I'll go upstairs and tell Samantha."
In Samantha's room, Alexander stood by the bed and said, "Mom, we'll be back tonight. I've given the house staff a break, and the hotel staff will come over soon. Don't stay cooped up at home; go have tea and chat with your friends."
"Everyone knows about Beatrice's pregnancy now. I'm worried they'll laugh at me!" Samantha sighed and waved him off. "Go on. I'll be fine."
Alexander comforted her, saying, "Mom, my father's matter is beyond my grandparents' control. Divorce isn't beneficial for you, but being upset every day is bad for your health. Maybe you should let him go."
"No way!" Samantha gritted her teeth. "I will never agree to divorce him!"
"Alright, don't get upset." Alexander quickly said, "I'm leaving."
Just as he was about to leave, Lillian gently pushed the door open. Seeing Samantha's unhappy face, she looked at Alexander uneasily and softly said to Samantha, "Mom, don't forget to have breakfast. Alexander and I are going to Lisa's."
Samantha waved impatiently.
Lillian shrank back, and Alexander put his arm around her shoulders as they left.
Kevin drove, and Oscar sat in the front passenger seat. William and Henry were in their car seats, behaving very well. Lillian looked at them happily, her eyes full of motherly love.
After more than forty minutes, the car stopped in front of Lisa's house as Lisa was already waiting at the door with her friends.
Lillian looked from the car and said helplessly, "She even invited people over."
Oscar put away his phone and sneered, "Lillian, she's always like this."
Holding William and Henry, they got out of the car. Lisa quickly greeted them and laughed heartily, saying to her friends, "Look at our two kids, aren't they handsome?"
Her friends kept praising them.
Alexander held William, and Lillian held Henry. He didn't want Lisa's friends to get too close to the kids, so he stepped back and said to Lisa, "Lillian and I are going up."
Lisa awkwardly smiled at her friends and said, "Alexander has always been particular, unlike us. You've seen the kids. I have to go up now. See you next time!"
