Chapter 233 Blake Gets Beaten

Alexander thought for a moment and said, "Grandpa's birthday is coming up, and things are hectic. I'll take you out once it calms down. Don't come this time; I wouldn't feel right."

Lillian felt a bit let down but got it. She replied, "Okay, once you're done, if I'm up for it, you can take me out. I'm just worried my belly will be too heavy later in the pregnancy, and I won't want to move."

Alexander touched her belly and smiled. "By next month, you probably won't be moving around much. Just look at how heavy your belly is getting now. "

Lillian touched her belly and sighed. "I can still manage, but I've gained so much weight. Look, isn't my face rounder?"

"You look better with a bit more weight than before. I like how you look now," he said, pinching her cheek.

"Honey, you really know what to say," she said, playfully pinching his cheek back.

After some playful banter, they left the room. Angela and Wendy were in the living room, playing on their phones.

"I brought you some treats," Alexander said to Angela. "Thanks for all your hard work, Dr. Turner."

Angela replied, "It's nothing."

Wendy smiled at Alexander. "Thank you, Mr. Sinclair."

Lillian saw Alexander out and stood by the elevator. "I don't know what you have to do, but I know you must know who harmed Oscar and me. Just be careful."

"Alright, don't worry. They're not worth mentioning," Alexander said, kissing her forehead before entering the elevator.

Lillian waved as the elevator doors closed, feeling a deep sense of longing; their time together was too short.

After parting ways with Evelyn, Shae drove to a bar. The music was loud, and it was packed. She found a spot at the bar and ordered a drink.

Soon, a man approached her. "Hey beautiful, are you alone?"

Shae glanced at him and said, "No, I'm with friends."

Seeing her attitude, the man awkwardly walked away.

When Shae was in a bad mood, she came here to drink. If she met a guy she liked, she'd take him home and have sex with him. She believed love and sex were separate things.

At the entrance, Lola walked in with Adam. They saw Shae drinking.

"Even here, I run into that annoying Shae," Lola sneered. "Got fired and came here to drown her sorrows."

"Who? Did you see a friend?" Adam asked, scanning the bar. He had brought Lola to celebrate a friend's birthday.

"Remember Shae? She got fired and is over there drinking," Lola nodded towards Shae. "I'm going to chat with her."

Adam squinted at Shae. The colorful lights highlighted her features, and he couldn't help but chuckled.

"Isn't this Ms. Anderson? Why are you here alone?" Lola sat next to her, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Shae glared at her and took a sip of her drink. "Don't bother me here, just go away!"

"Who do you think you're talking to?" Lola snapped. "You deserved to be fired by Alexander!"

Shae stood up, slapped Lola hard, and left her stunned.

"You dare hit me!" Lola yelled, holding her face. "Do you think I'm scared of you?"

They started fighting, and the bar crowd cheered and whistled, enjoying the show.

Blake was there with friends and noticed the commotion. "Two women are fighting. Let's check it out," he said, heading over.

Seeing Lola in the fight, Adam rushed over with his friends to break it up.

"Are you hurt?" Adam asked.

Lola, with her hair a mess, was clearly no match for Shae. She pushed her hair back and fumed, "She slapped me! I'm not done with her!"

Adam looked at Shae. She seemed fine, just a bit of messy hair.

"You talk trash. Who else should I hit?" Shae, already in a bad mood, vented her anger on Lola.

Adam sneered. "You're pretty bold! If you don't let Lola hit you back today, don't think about leaving!"

"Let's see what you can do!" Shae wasn't intimidated and didn't take them seriously.

"Shae!" Blake called out, walking over and pulling her into his arms.

"Do you get into trouble? Let's see who dares to touch you!" Blake taunted Adam. "Where did this trash come from? Leave before we kick you out!"

Adam felt a sense of familiarity but didn't dwell on it. He defiantly said, "Let's see who leaves first!" and charged forward with his friends.

Blake hadn't brought any bodyguards, he just came out to hang out with a few friends. They quickly got outmatched by Adam's group, who were good at brawling. After a chaotic fight, Blake and his friends were left bruised and battered.

Shae stood by, holding her forehead in frustration. She had thought Blake was strong, but he turned out to be weak. If she had known, she wouldn't have let him help; she could have handled it herself.

"Blake, are you okay?" Shae helped him up, looking at his face, which resembled Alexander's, and felt sorry for him. "You're hurt. I'll take you to the hospital."

Blake wiped the blood from his mouth and pointed at Adam. "You wait. This isn't over!"

Adam smugly replied, "Bring it on. I'll be waiting!"

Shae helped the battered Blake out of the bar and into his car, heading to the hospital.

Lola took one last look at Blake and asked Adam, "Don't you think he looks familiar? Like Alexander?"

Now that she mentioned it, Adam realized. "Yeah, he does look familiar."

"Could he be Alexander's brother?" Lola asked cautiously.

Adam's heart skipped a beat. He looked at Lola, his eyes shifting, and said nonchalantly, "So what? They're not full brothers. I'm still Alexander's wife's brother!"
