Chapter 413 Drink Until We Drop
The ordered food was quickly brought to the table: fried chicken wings, fries, and burgers filling the table.
Angela grabbed a bottle of beer from the side of the table, popped it open, and poured some for Wendy. She said, "When you're feeling down, drinking is the best way to heal. Drinking can make you forget all your troubles. Tonight, you won't go home until you're drunk!"
Lillian disapprovingly said, "Angela, that's not right. Drinking can also make people sad!"
Wendy took the glass Angela handed her and said to them, "You two stop arguing. Tonight, I just want to drink until I'm drunk."
"Then let's drink," Angela said excitedly, raising her glass.
She noticed Lillian hadn't moved and said, "What are you doing? Raise your glass!"
The three clinked their glasses, and Angela said, "Wendy, losing love is not a big deal. There are many things more important than love in life waiting for you to do. God has spared you from being deceived and hurt. I believe love will come to you again soon. Cheer up! You're the best!"
Angela's words were so emotional and passionate that Wendy's eyes welled up with tears, and she couldn't help but cry.
"Angela, what you said was so good!" Wendy cried and said excitedly, "Lillian, Angela, you don't need to worry about me. I'm fine, I'm strong! Aaron is nothing; a bad man like him isn't worth my tears!"
"Well said!" Lillian said, "Wendy, you're the coolest!"
The glasses clinked in the air, and the three girls happily shouted, "Cheers to friendship!"
They ate and chatted happily. Naturally, the topic was still about Wendy.
"Today, Lillian and I went to the hospital to visit Evelyn's dad and ran into Caspian there," Angela said to Wendy while eating fries. "I told him about your situation. He's probably been busy with the Phillips family stuff and didn't know about your situation."
"No wonder he called me today. So you told him," Wendy said, taking a big gulp of beer. "He's busy with the Phillips family stuff; what could he know?"
Lillian said, "I saw him today, and he seemed worried when he heard about your situation. It didn't look like he was faking it."
Wendy shook her head, "What does that mean? Even an ordinary friend would be worried and surprised."
"It doesn't mean anything," Angela said, drinking. "Now that the Phillips family is in such trouble, he's busy running around helping with various things. Evelyn will be moved by this, and they might get back together."
"Really?" Lillian said, confused. "Caspian said he already sees Evelyn as a friend and is helping out of friendship."
"Do you believe that? Evelyn is Caspian's obsession, someone he's loved for half his life. We've seen their ups and downs. Do you think he can just let go? I don't believe it," Angela said, sipping her drink slowly.
Lillian glanced at the dejected Wendy, who was drinking in silence, and said, "People can't live in their obsessions forever, right? Sooner or later, they'll move on. Anyway, I didn't think Caspian was lying today."
Wendy sighed and said slowly, "Whether he lets go or not is his business. Even if he does, it doesn't mean he'll like me. I won't foolishly have any hopes for him anymore."
Lillian said, "Wendy, I think it would be hard for you and Caspian not to care about each other. When we talked to him about you today, I specifically observed his expression. It wasn't an indifferent reaction to hearing about an ordinary friend. He looked worried."
"Really?" Wendy asked, not daring to believe it.
Angela drank and sneered, "Lillian, you just keep praising Caspian. When Caspian and Evelyn get back together, let's see what she does."
"Let's just drink. When you're drunk, you'll forget all your troubles," Wendy said, feeling disheartened by Angela's words. She picked up the bottle and poured more drinks for the two of them.
In the bustling bar, people came and went. Three groups of people had changed at the table next to them, and the three sisters had just finished drinking.
Angela had a little quirk when she drank too much: she liked to make phone calls. Tonight, she started calling Ivan, crying and laughing, saying all sorts of nonsense like a little madwoman.
Wendy, who couldn't hold her liquor, also drank a lot tonight. Her cheek was flushed, and she was dizzy, like a little drunk kitten. She hugged the bottle, lay on the table, and mumbled drunken confessions, saying resentful things.
"God, I tried so hard to invest my feelings in Aaron, why is he a liar?"
"I'm so envious of Evelyn, getting so much love and care from Caspian. I just got a simple phone call."
"Caspian, I don't want to be your sister..."
Lillian, who hadn't drunk much, was very sober. She ate some fruit and shook her head helplessly.
More than half an hour later, Alexander came to pick her up. Caspian also drove over.
"Why did you drink so much?" Caspian stood beside Wendy, gently nudging her and calling her name, "Wendy, Wendy, wake up."
"Don't bother; she drank too much," Lillian said to Caspian. "Please take her home."
Caspian nodded, helped Wendy up, and walked towards his car. But after just a few steps, Wendy's legs gave out. Seeing this, he simply picked her up and placed her in the back seat.
Lillian watched the car drive away and said to Alexander, "Let's go too and take Angela home first."
"Drunk like this, is there someone at home to take care of her?"
Lillian said, "Did you forget about Mr. Wellington? Call him down to take care of her."
The two of them helped the still-calling Angela into the car.
Alexander drove to Angela's apartment. By this time, she had fallen asleep while on the phone, speaking in an incomprehensible language. It was unclear who she was talking to.
At the apartment entrance, Alexander called Theodore to explain the situation. Mr. Wellington quickly came down.
"Sorry to trouble you, Mr. Wellington. Please give her some water and stay with her until she falls asleep."
Theodore supported Angela and said to Lillian, "Don't worry, I'll take good care of her."
Lillian smiled gratefully and left.
Caspian was driving Wendy home. Halfway there, Wendy suddenly sat up in the back seat, reached out to touch his head, and angrily asked, "Who are you?"
"Sit tight, I'm taking you home," Caspian said.
Wendy suddenly covered her mouth, and said, "I need to throw up!"
