Chapter 276 Lillian's Sentiment

The car drove for over an hour and arrived at the Beachfront villa.

Lucas was the first to jump out of the car and run towards the beach. Lillian couldn't stop him and quickly asked Kevin to follow.

Gina carried the luggage inside first, while Lillian sat under the sun umbrella in the yard, breathing in the sea breeze, and remarked, "It's more comfortable to visit the beach in the summer. The scent of the sea always reminds me of fond memories of our time in California."

Alexander chuckled, "Why does it remind you of California? Do you have some unforgettable memories there?"

Lillian playfully looked at him and said, "Yes, if it weren't for that trip to California, who knows what our relationship would be like now."

"Even without that experience in California, I think we would still end up together," Alexander said as he helped her up and slowly walked towards the villa. "What do you want for dinner? I brought your favorite chef from the hotel. Have the chef prepare some seafood for you."

Alexander had brought a few chefs and maids to help Gina, as well as two family doctors on standby.

Lillian went to the room to rest, and Alexander accompanied her, working nearby.

This time, Alexander arranged for their room to be on the third floor. The villa had a newly installed elevator for Lillian's convenience.

The bed was placed by the floor-to-ceiling window, with the curtains gently swaying in the breeze. A turn of the head revealed the vast ocean, distant white sails, and seabirds on the water, all forming a beautiful scenery.

"So comfortable!" Lillian said lazily, lying on the bed contentedly.

Alexander told her, "Honey, If you're tired, take a nap. I'll handle some company matters first."

"Honey, you just focus on your work, don't worry about me," Lillian said, turning to face the sea, unconcerned.

From the bed, she could see Kevin playing with Lucas on the beach. At some point, they had come back to get tools, and Lucas was diligently digging in the sand with a shovel.

She couldn't help but laugh softly.

"What's so funny, Honey?"

Lillian glanced back at him and said with a smile, "I'm laughing at Lucas. He's digging a small sandpit and insists that Kevin lie in it. Poor Mr. Martin."

Alexander smiled but said nothing.

"Honey, how old is Kevin? He doesn't have a girlfriend yet, right? Is it because you give him too much work?" Lillian teased.

Alexander adjusted his glasses and admitted, "It is indeed due to work reasons, but he also said he doesn't want to find a girlfriend."

Lillian said, "Why? I think Leah likes him a lot," Lillian said. "You wouldn't agree, would you?"

Alexander said, "Kevin wouldn't agree either."

Lillian thought about it and agreed. Kevin had been working for Alexander for many years and had a discerning eye. It wasn't surprising that he didn't like someone as capricious as Leah.

Alexander's phone suddenly vibrated. He looked at it and saw it was Shae calling. Without much thought, he answered.

"Alexander, it's me," Shae said gently over the phone. "I just wanted to ask about Amy's mementos that you said Kevin would come to pick up. Why hasn't he come yet?"

"I've been very busy and forgot," Alexander said. "Those things aren't urgent, just keep them for now."

"I see. Well, come get them when you're not busy," Shae said. "That's all, bye."

After hanging up, her face darkened, and she muttered to herself, 'Not urgent? Those are Amy's mementos. How can he not be in a hurry to get them? Those are your memories together.'

"Alexander, have you fallen in love with Lillian? No! That's impossible! Didn't you say you would always love Amy? You can't love Lillian!" Shae was furious, her head pounding. She grabbed her head in pain, took out a bottle of pills from her bag, and hastily swallowed two.

By evening, the sun had turned the sea orange-red before gradually setting.Lucas was covered in sand from playing and happily against Kevin as Gina called them back. Seeing Lillian, he excitedly ran over to share his afternoon's joy but Alexander stopped him.

"Go take a bath with Kevin first, then you can talk."

Gina walked over and said, "Mr. Sinclair, dinner is ready."

The dining table was set with six or seven seafood dishes. The chef had also prepared several seafood-based main courses. Lillian looked eager to eat.

Oysters, scallops, lobsters—all of Lillian's favorites. She ate a few with a good appetite. However, with Alexander watching, she didn't dare to eat too much and put down her fork when she was almost full.

In the evening, after the maids and chefs finished their work, they chatted in the backyard gazebo. Lucas clung to Kevin, eager to play games together. Lillian and Alexander held hands and went to the beach.

The sand was fine and soft, and walking barefoot on it felt like stepping on a cushion. They sat by the sea, chatting softly, with seagulls calling above as if they wanted to join the conversation.

Lillian lay casually on the beach.

"Do you remember when we were in California, and you carried me on your back by the sea?" Lillian smiled faintly, tilting her head slightly as she got lost in the memory. "At that moment, I felt like I was in love. It was so sweet."

Alexander lowered his head and gently massaged her legs. In the late stages of pregnancy, her legs were a bit swollen.

"I was quite excited at that time too."

"Were you? You were acting that day. How could you be excited?"

"Because I blurred the lines between acting and reality," Alexander said confidently.

"Honey, ever since Amy died, I felt that marriage didn't matter, and being single was fine," he said sincerely. "But since being with you, I've slowly realized that my previous life was so lonely and meaningless."

"Really?" Lillian was a bit surprised. "I thought you were so strong and busy with work that you didn't have time to feel lonely."

"But after being with you, the biggest realization I had was that during my pregnancy, the warmth you gradually gave me made me feel a sense of belonging and reliance."

Lillian sighed, "Love is magical and great. We hated each other at first, but now we're married. Isn't that interesting?"

Alexander nodded silently, "And trust!"
