Chapter 224 Lillian Encounters an Attack on the Road

David turned to Lillian, "Mrs. Sinclair, we're already going pretty fast."

"Faster!" Lillian urged, clearly on edge.

Kelly tried to calm her down, "Stay calm. Don't worry."

Lillian shot back, "Kelly, I can't stay calm. Oscar's life is on the line. They said he's critically injured!"

Kelly asked, "I think they're just trying to scare you! Who are those people anyway? They seem sketchy."

Larry chimed in, "Kelly, they were just random passersby."

Kelly thought for a moment. "Who are they? They look unfamiliar."

Ignoring Kelly, Lillian called Alexander.

"We're on our way to the hospital. Has Oscar come out yet?" she asked, worried.

Alexander glanced at the operating room door. "Not yet. Don't worry. I'll call you as soon as there's any news, okay?"

"Alright," Lillian said, feeling down. "Make sure to call me immediately if there's any news. Ah!"

The car was suddenly hit, causing Lillian to fall and drop her phone.

"Lily!" Alexander heard the panic over the phone. His face darkened, and he called Billy Garcia in the car behind.

"Yes, two cars are ramming Mrs. Sinclair's car!" Billy reported. "Not sure if they're Blake's men."

Billy replied, "Alright, don't worry. We'll protect Mrs. Sinclair."

Alexander ended the call, his face grim, standing by the window, exuding a chilling aura.

"Kevin," he called out coldly. "Lily's in trouble. Take some men to rescue her. I'm afraid they can't handle it. Once you catch them, find out what's going on and handle it."

"Yes," Kevin accepted the order and left.

Alexander clenched his fist, sneering inwardly, 'Blake, if you dare to push me this far, I will definitely make you pay!'

The operating room door opened, and the doctor came out.

Emily rushed over, staring at the doctor nervously. "How did the surgery go?"

Alexander walked over and asked, "Doctor, how is he?" He swallowed nervously.

The doctor nodded slightly. "He's lucky. The knife missed the artery by 0.08 inches. We've saved him for now, but he has a heart condition and is still in a coma. If he doesn't wake up within forty-eight hours, the prognosis isn't good."

"Do you mean he might die?" Emily asked.

"It's hard to say right now. Let's monitor him in the ward first," the doctor said.

"Thank you," Alexander said.

Meanwhile, two cars were ramming Lillian's car, trying to force it to stop.

"Kelly, who are these people?" Lillian curled up in her seat, terrified.

Kelly, unfazed, held Lillian and said, "Don't worry. We can handle this!"

Billy and Craig Garcia's car caught up to help. David skillfully sped away, but one car blocked Billy while the other chased Lillian.

Suddenly, David cursed as the car slowed to a stop.

"What happened? Car trouble?" Kelly asked.

Larry looked over, "Kelly, they shot out our tires."

The car came to a halt in a busy area, surrounded by people and traffic.

Half a dozen guys got out of the car, each with a club, and headed straight for them.

David and Larry rolled up their sleeves, unbuckled their seatbelts, and got out. Lillian, scared out of her mind, clung tightly to Kelly's arm.

The fight quickly drew a crowd, with some people even filming it. David and Larry, both skilled fighters, easily took down the attackers. Just then, Kevin showed up with reinforcements, followed by Billy and Craig.

David asked, "Kevin, what now?"

Kevin picked up a club, lifted the leader's chin, and asked sternly, "Who sent you?"

The leader, bruised and swollen, sneered, "That's none of your business. We just blocked your car and didn't kill anyone. You can't do anything to us!"

"Fine, then we'll find a place where they can deal with you," Kevin said, signaling to Craig. "Take them all to the car."

David said, "I'll leave this to you and take Mrs. Sinclair to the hospital."

"Go ahead," Kevin replied.

David and Larry got back in the car. David looked at Lillian and asked, "Mrs. Sinclair, are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Lillian said, barely able to speak.

David drove smoothly to the hospital. Upon learning that Oscar had been moved to a ward after surgery, they rushed to the ward. Seeing Oscar with an oxygen mask, Lillian's legs gave out, and she nearly collapsed.

Alexander quickly came over and caught Lillian. Seeing her pale face, he asked worriedly, "Were you scared on the way?"

"How's Oscar? When will he wake up?" Lillian asked urgently, looking at the bed.

Alexander replied, "We need to observe for forty-eight hours to see if he wakes up."

"What if he doesn't wake up?" she asked, wide-eyed.

"He will wake up," Alexander said firmly.

Lillian's tears fell again. "But what if he doesn't? Will he die?"

"The doctor didn't say that," Alexander said, holding her and comforting her. "Let's just hope he wakes up in forty-eight hours."

Lillian clung to his waist, burying her face in his chest, crying uncontrollably. "He's my only family. If he dies, what will I do? Alexander, I can't bear to lose him."

Overwhelmed by emotion and fear, she fainted from crying.

"Lily!" Alexander, expecting this, quickly picked her up and carried her out of the ward.
