Chapter 74 They Are All Hypocrite

Alexander held his wine glass and smiled at Thomas, "Thomas, with your good health, you will definitely live a long life."

He humbly approached Thomas and clinked their glasses together, saying, "Lillian and I are already preparing for it."

"Alright, that's great, but you must hurry. Blake's child will be born in a few months. Although you are a step behind, you shouldn't fall too far behind, you know?"

In Thomas' mind, Blake and his future children cannot be considered descendants of the Sinclair family. Only Alexander, in front of him, is the future head of the Sinclair family.

Ethan listened on the side, feeling somewhat dissatisfied. When he came back this time, he wanted to request Thomas to add Beatrice, Blake, and Rena's baby into the family genealogy. However, seeing Thomas' attitude, he thought it would be better not to bring it up for now.

Lillian felt uneasy. Slowly, she turned her head to look at Alexander, who was happily clinking glasses and drinking with others. But she could only put on a fake smile to deal with his relatives.

"Samantha, Lillian has a good personality and is very gentle. Just by looking at her family, she must be well-cultured," a noblewoman sitting across from Samantha praised Lillian.

Samantha chuckled and placed a shrimp on Lillian's small plate before saying to the woman, "Lillian has a great personality, and she's been really good to me."

Lillian lowered her head and ate the shrimp Samantha gave her. Upon hearing Samantha's words, her throat tightened as if a shrimp shell had pricked her.

Others asked, "What do her parents do? Lillian has a good education and is beautiful. Alexander and Lillian are a perfect couple."

Lillian held a glass of water and felt a bit nervous. She slowly put down the glass and looked at Samantha.

It was impossible for her to reveal her own identity straightforwardly. In her narrow heart, she thought, 'Samantha just said I've been good to her. I wonder what kind of noble background she'll invent for me.'

Samantha calmly replied, "Lillian's parents were both professors at a university and had many famous students. Now that they're retired, they have settled abroad."

"I see," the others nodded at the table. "Being a university professor is pretty good."

Although they said it was good, upon closer examination, they found that Lillian's family still seemed unsatisfactory.

Lillian looked at the elders' various expressions and anxiously glanced at Samantha. She suddenly felt a pang of guilt in her heart.

Well, facing the strange gazes of her table companions in a foreign land, it was natural for her to associate herself with Samantha. Now that outsiders were making fun of Samantha because of Lillian, she felt uncomfortable and guilty. It was to be expected.

Samantha proudly lifted her chin slightly and said, "In Rihegde, the Sinclair family is the strongest. We are very powerful in the business world. Alexander takes relationships seriously and hates marriage for the sake of interests. In fact, we don't need that kind of arrangement. He only wants to find his true love for genuine happiness, am I right?"

Lillian's face turned slightly red as she thought, 'Samantha is also formidable, truly articulate. But I know that Samantha still hopes Alexander marries for interests.'

"Yes, yes, with Alexander's wealth and good conditions, he definitely doesn't need to marry for interests. Finding a girl like Lillian, who comes from a good background and has good manners, is the right choice. Samantha, you're really lucky to have someone like Lillian!" the other women praised simultaneously.

Samantha smiled and didn't say anything more.

This meal exhausted Lillian. After they finished discussing her, the young sisters started discussing various fashion topics, and Leah also joined in.

On her trip to Aetherland, Lillian had bought clothes impulsively. It wasn't because she knew in advance about the noble status of the Sinclair family in Aetherland, but because Kevin took her to a luxury store and bought several sets of clothes. Of course, she knew that it was Alexander's idea.

"I think Lillian looks great in this Dior dress. Do you two usually go shopping together?" a girl asked Leah.

Samantha separated Leah and Lillian, but they seemed to understand each other without speaking and exchanged glances.

"I don't go shopping with her," Leah said coquettishly. "Every time I go shopping with her, she always brings along Alexander, and I end up hindering them."

Lillian's eyes widened. She didn't expect the noble Leah to act like this.

Under the table, someone tapped her leg, and she looked towards Samantha.

Suddenly, she understood and awkwardly said to Leah, "I asked Alexander to go shopping with us, so it's also a way for him to pay the bill."

"Hmph!" Leah said flirtatiously, "No matter what you say, you're right. It's because you and Alexander are so in love and don't want to be apart!"

Everyone at the table burst into laughter. Lillian played her part well and shyly covered her face with her hands.

In the small hospital room, Rena lay on the bed, leisurely eating fruit and watching TV dramas. Beatrice and Blake sat on the opposite sofa, talking in hushed voices.

"Mom, are you really determined to take action here?" Blake said with some concern. "It's Thomas's territory, and it would be disadvantageous for us."

Beatrice snorted and crossed her arms. "That old man is almost dead. He definitely can't stop us. If we don't take down Alexander here this time, it won't be easy for us to resist once he returns!"

Blake hesitated and said, "I think we should consider it carefully. Alexander has always been wary of us. Look at what happened today. You only said a few more words. Judging from his reaction, I think we shouldn't take action easily!"

"Lillian is really foolish. I agree with Beatrice's idea. Let's target her first," Rena said, sitting up. "Look, today Alexander defended her so much. He definitely cares about her a lot. I understand couples who get married quickly like them - the honeymoon phase is still strong. Now is the best time to strike!"

Beatrice nodded repeatedly. "Rena is right; I see it, too. Alexander cherishes that Lillian. But Samantha dislikes Lillian."

Blake still didn't agree with Beatrice and Rena's analysis. He felt that something was off and shook his head, saying, "I don't think so. Why do I feel like Alexander and Lillian are just putting on a show for us?"

"Really? Honey, why would you say that?" Rena asked.

Blake spoke seriously, "Let's not act rashly and observe a bit longer."

Seeing how cautious Blake was, Beatrice agreed, "Alright, let's follow your lead for now."
