Chapter 264 Caspian Ordered Breakfast for Wendy

When Wendy came out, she saw Caspian's car parked at the door and said to him, "Mr. Wade, could you please give me a ride to the subway station? I'm running late today."

Caspian didn't waste words and agreed, "Get in."

Seeing him agree so readily, Wendy thanked him repeatedly.

As she looked at him, her mind strangely recalled the scene in the bathroom earlier when he was using the toilet, scaring her into shaking her head to dispel the image.

The road during the morning rush hour was extremely congested. They were stuck in traffic before even reaching the subway station.

Wendy kept checking the time, anxiously looking around and muttering, "What should I do? I'm running out of time!"

Caspian, annoyed by her fussing, scolded, "Can you calm down? We still have twenty minutes."

"Twenty minutes is not enough!" Wendy shouted.

"Serves you right! Who told you to get up late?" Caspian retorted bluntly.

Wendy knew she was at fault and had no comeback.

When the red light ahead turned green, Caspian made it through at the last second. Wendy cheered, "Mr. Wade, you're amazing!"

"Don't get cocky. Sit tight!" Caspian said seriously as he made a turn.

Seeing him change the route, Wendy asked in surprise, "Which way are you going?"

"Don't ask. You wouldn't know even if I told you." Caspian drove onto a side road and then turned into a cluster of buildings.

After navigating through the buildings with several turns, they eventually emerged onto the street where the studio was located.

Wendy exclaimed in amazement, "Caspian, how did you do that? That's awesome!"

"Have some sense of time in the future. Evelyn hates people who are late." Caspian parked the car in front of the studio.

Wendy responded earnestly and thanked him sincerely, "Thank you so much."

Caspian said, "Go on in. It's almost time."

Wendy got out of the car, waved goodbye to him, and walked towards the studio. Behind her, someone called out, "Wendy!"

She turned around to see Evelyn calling her. She instinctively glanced at Caspian's car and greeted, "Ms. Phillips, good morning."

"Good morning." Evelyn smiled. "I saw Caspian brought you here. Are you two developing a relationship?"

Wendy was taken aback and denied, "No, we're not."

Seeing Wendy's embarrassed look, Evelyn explained, "I was asking casually. Don't mind it."

Wendy felt a bit flustered. 'Was Evelyn asking casually, or did she have another motive? I don't think so. I already have a boyfriend. It was likely a casual question.' She kept pondering but eventually decided to stop thinking about it.

Having skipped breakfast, she went to the break room after arriving at the office to make herself a cup of coffee. Suddenly, someone came in and handed her a delivery, saying, "Your breakfast is here."

"Mine? I didn't order anything." Wendy took the order slip outside the bag in confusion and saw Caspian's name on it.

"Caspian?" she murmured. "Why is he being so nice?"

Wendy was hungry, so she took out the breakfast and started eating while sending him a message on Facebook to thank him.

Caspian replied with a voice message, "I felt sorry for you. Your parents aren't home, and you didn't have breakfast, so I thought I'd feed a dog."

Wendy listened and sneered. She muttered, "I thought it was a concern between friends, but he said it was feeding a dog."

As she was eating, someone else came in. She looked up and frowned. It was Roy who had been pursuing her.

"Wendy, why was Ms. Phillips' ex-fiancé the one who brought you here this morning? What's going on between you two?" Roy questioned her.

Wendy replied coldly, "This doesn't seem to concern you, does it?"

Seeing her displeased, Roy softened his tone, "You're right. I'm worried you might be dating someone else."

Wendy put down her utensils and said seriously, "Mr. Carter, I hope you understand that who I date is my business. Please don't interfere. Let me make it clear once again. I don't like you. It's better if we remain colleagues."

However, Roy seemed unfazed and said, "Wendy, feelings can be developed. How do you know you won't like me if you haven't tried dating me? Give us a chance."

Wendy hated it when he said things like that, thinking, 'How could someone pursue another without any dignity?' She packed up her unfinished food and threw it in the trash.

Then, she said to him, "Mr. Carter, I don't want to develop feelings with you. It would feel like a waste of time. I'm looking for mutual affection, not your persistent harassment." With that, she walked past him and out of the break room.

The day passed quickly, and with work unfinished, Wendy planned to stay late with her colleagues.

"Wendy, you go to Mr. Hughes' place tomorrow. He hasn't been satisfied with any of us who went before." Her colleague Kimberly Gonzalez handed her a client file.

Wendy looked at it seriously and said, "Mr. Hughes has a lot of demands."

"Not only does he have many demands, but he also excessively interferes with our work. If he's so knowledgeable, why doesn't he do it himself at home?" Kimberly shook her head. "Anyway, you'll see tomorrow."

Wendy, mentally prepared, nodded. "I'll study this client tonight and try to meet all his requirements."

After working late until after 8 PM, Wendy and Kimberly left the studio.

Wendy took the subway home. During the walk from the subway to her house, she had the constant feeling that someone was following her. She looked back but saw no one. Feeling uneasy, she quickened her pace. Just as she was about to reach home, someone suddenly patted her heavily on the shoulder, startling her. She turned around to see who it was.

"Roy! Are you crazy?" Wendy yelled angrily when she saw him. "You scared me!"

Roy said, "I was planning to walk you home quietly without disturbing you. However, I have something to say."

"Mr. Carter, you don't need to say it. Every time you talk to me, it's the same old thing. I know what you're going to say. I will never date you. Find someone else." Wendy hurried towards her building, but Roy blocked her way.

"Wendy, can't you give me a chance? I'm so excellent and handsome, and I come from a wealthy family. My parents have stable jobs and good character. How am I not good enough for you? Do you know how hurtful it is to be rejected by you again and again?" Roy asked, his tone tinged with anger.
