Chapter 240 The Angry Caspian

Caspian sat under the canopy playing cards, but his eyes kept sneaking glances at Evelyn. He asked sarcastically, "Why did you bring a guy along?"

Theodore replied, "He's Evelyn's boyfriend. We're out to have fun today. Don't spoil it."

Caspian sneered. "Theodore, do you think I would do anything? I am not interested in ruining other people's relationships, okay?"

"Couldn't be better," Theodore said, playing his last card.

After the game, Caspian discarded his remaining cards into the pile and glanced over, feeling annoyed when he saw Evelyn smiling at someone else in a way she had never smiled at him.

Around the estate, Jackson and Ainsley played with Lucas, engaging in activities like fishing, feeding cows, and flying kites, which were strengthening their bond.

Emily was also busy playing video games with Oscar and having a great time.

While some played cards and others chatted, everyone seemed happy. Only Caspian's expression was serious, indicating discontent.

"I'm done playing," he said, throwing down his cards and standing up. "I'm going inside to lie down for a bit."

"Come on. Don't be like that," Tom said while shuffling the cards, mocking him. "Since Evelyn found a boyfriend, you can find a girlfriend as well."

Caspian retorted, "I'm not upset because of her; I'm upset because I lost money!"

Watching him storm off, Tom laughed and said, "He's going inside to cry."

Alexander and Theodore shrugged and laughed.

Caspian returned to the villa and coincidentally saw Evelyn coming out of the bathroom. He quickly walked over, grabbed her wrist, and pushed her against the wall in the corner.

Evelyn looked at him in shock and pushed him away, asking angrily, "Caspian, what are you doing?"

"You found a boyfriend pretty quickly!" Caspian said with a smirk, trapping her between his arms against the wall.

Evelyn glared at him. "It's none of your business. Let me go."

"Why are you in such a hurry? Are you afraid your boyfriend will find?" Caspian straightened up, pretending to look around. "It's hidden here; he won't find us."

Seeing his shameless behavior, Evelyn rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Just tell me, what do you want?"

"Nothing," Caspian said honestly. He was just upset and wanted to grab her.

"If it's nothing, then let me go," Evelyn said angrily.

Caspian was angrily, too. "Evelyn, how long has it been? Couldn't you wait to find a boyfriend?"

"Caspian, what do you mean by that? Does the time between breaking off the engagement and finding a boyfriend matter? Aren't you overstepping?" Evelyn said angrily, hating his questioning.

"What do I mean? I mean I'm not happy!" Caspian finally shouted out his true feelings. Then he grabbed her chin and kissed her as a form of punishment.

Evelyn was stunned for a moment, then reacted by biting his lip hard and kicking his shin with all her might.

Caspian let go of her in pain, bending over to rub his leg. The kick from her high heel was excruciating.

"Caspian, I'm warning you. We have nothing to do with each other now. If you dare touch me again, don't blame me for being rude! You shameless jerk, now you've learned to force a kiss!" Evelyn was furious and punched him hard on the back.

Caspian cried out in pain, stood up, and limped away. "You hit me so hard!"

When Evelyn came out, Amos saw her flustered and slightly red face. He asked, "What happened to you?"

"Nothing. I saw a cockroach in the bathroom, and it scared me," Evelyn said casually.

Amos put his arm around her shoulder and comforted her, "Don't be afraid."

Caspian limped out. Upon seeing their intimacy, he closed his eyes tightly, unwilling to witness it.

The day it was passed quickly. In the evening, a bonfire was lit in the center of the yard. The meat was grilled on the barbecue, and the chef prepared a sumptuous dinner for everyone to enjoy.

Lillian didn't want to eat grilled meat, so she ate the chef's dishes. Lucas sat beside her, eating the same thing and enjoying it.

"Did you have fun with Ainsley and Jackson today?" Lillian asked.

"Yes, I had a lot of fun. I never expected Dad to be so capable! When my kite kept falling, he fixed it, and it soared into the sky almost immediately."

Lillian asked, "And Ainsley? Did you take care of her since she's not well?"

"Mom brought me cookies today, and they were delicious," Lucas replied.

Lillian smiled, thinking, 'As long as Lucas spent more time with his biological parents, he would forget the past unpleasantness and get along well with them.'

"It's okay that you have fun," Lillian said, feeling a bit jealous.

Lucas said to her, "Lillian, don't be sad. In my heart, you and Uncle Alexander are still number one. That hasn't changed. I won't leave you two."

Lucas was very observant, even at such a young age. He would undoubtedly be even more impressive as he grew older.

Lillian stubbornly said, "I'm not jealous; I'm just happy for you."

Alexander brought them some grilled meat and asked, "Aren't you coming over to eat?"

Lillian replied, "I don't want any; let Lucas have it."

There were two large barbecue grills, and people were sitting on both sides. Somehow, Caspian and Amos sat together. Evelyn's ex-fiancé and current boyfriend's meeting made the scene a bit awkward. Of course, this was only awkward for Caspian.

"Mr. Wade, the grilled meat is ready. Have some!" Amos enthusiastically handed out the grilled meat.

Tom and Theodore took it and thanked him. Caspian also took the meat slowly and asked with a cold smile. "Mr. Dalton, you haven't mentioned which barbecue restaurant do you own? I'll definitely visit someday."

"Mr. Wade, that's a good one." Amos laughed. "I just run my company."

"Mr. Dalton is quite modest," Caspian said, putting the meat back on the grill. "How did you meet Evelyn? Did you pursue her?"

Hearing this, Amos looked at Caspian with a casual smile.

Caspian felt that Amos's smile was mocking him, as if saying, "See, Evelyn doesn't like you; she likes me! No matter how anxious you are, she won't be with you."

Caspian's face darkened, and he shouted, "What are you laughing at!"
