Chapter 304 Organizing Books

A week had passed. Lillian had recovered well, and both babies were healthy as well. The family of four was discharged from the hospital and went home.

Lillian had been cooped up for a month, stuck in the hospital room all day. On the way home, she kept saying she wanted to go here and there.

"Honey, can you take me out for a walk tonight? I want to go stroll around and be among people," Lillian said.

Alexander understood and said, "Sure, I'll take you to the park near our house tonight. Let's not go too far after dark, after all, our sons are waiting at home."

"The park is fine," Lillian said, looking at the sleeping babies and couldn't help but gently touch their faces.

Samantha had already hired two nannies to take care of the babies. They were professionals, and their previous employers were Samantha's friends, so they were trustworthy and reliable.

When they got home, the nannies introduced themselves. The taller one was Patricia Wells, and the chubbier one was Heather Wallace. They looked clean and efficient, giving a good first impression.

They had already informed about the situation and took the babies to the temporary nursery.

Lillian followed Alexander to their room to change clothes. Alexander said, "Honey, now that we have two more adults living with us, the house is a bit cramped. I'm planning to move to a bigger house."

Lillian said, "Where are we moving to?"

"To Tranquil Haven Estates," Alexander said. "When I found out you were pregnant, I had the house renovated, added an elevator, a nursery, and a lot of other facilities. The environment there is better, and the yard is bigger."

Lillian was amazed. Tranquil Haven Estates was the premier real estate brand in the area. She had only heard about their excellent property management but had never experienced it. She was pleasantly surprised to be moving there.

Lillian said, "You are quick, you even got the nursery done."

Alexander said, "That house is new, and I didn't have time to renovate it after I got it. The birth of the babies was a perfect opportunity to get everything done at once. It can also be considered our marital home."

Lillian said, "So, are we moving in the next couple of days?"

Alexander said, "Let's move there sooner. It'll be more comfortable for everyone."

Lillian said, "Then I need to start packing. We won't take the big items, but we need to bring all the daily essentials."

She smiled and added, "I love packing, it lets me reminisce."

At lunch, Lillian shared the news of their upcoming move with Kelly and Oscar. Everyone was happy about moving to a better environment.

"But Lucas's school will be farther away," Kelly said to Lucas. "You'll have to get up earlier."

"There's no other way. If I have to get up early, so be it. I can handle it as long as I can live with you guys," Lucas said, shrugging helplessly.

His pretend mature look made everyone laugh. Lillian said, "Go pack the things you want to take with you when you get back to your room."

"I'll do it with Oscar. You don't need to worry, Lillian."

During the month Lillian was in the hospital, Oscar had been taking care of Lucas, accompanying him to tutoring and interest classes, and visiting the Jacksons. As a result, Lucas had become very dependent on Oscar.

After lunch, Lillian went to see the babies. Since she didn't have enough breast milk, she decided to give up breastfeeding. She knew this might distance her from the babies, so she tried to spend as much time with them as possible when they were awake.

The two babies were very well-behaved, lying in bed, looking around with wide eyes after being fed, not crying or fussing.

"Do they usually stay like this?" Lillian asked curiously.

Patricia smiled and said, "Yes, Mrs. Sinclair, your babies are very well-behaved."

Lillian gently poked their faces with her finger and said, "Why are you so good? I love you so much."

Not long after, Alexander came in. After interacting with the babies for a while, he asked her, "I'm going to tidy up the study now. Would you like to join me, dear?"

"Sure," Lillian said softly, seeing the babies getting sleepy. She tiptoed out of the room.

In the study, there were two large shelves of books. Alexander was organizing them layer by layer, tossing aside the ones they needed to take.

As things hit the floor, a hardcover book fell, and a piece of paper slipped out.

Lillian was sorting through miscellaneous items on the desk, and the paper landed right in front of her.

It was a photo paper, landing face down. She picked it up and turned it over. Revealing a group photo. Alexander stood tall and handsome, exuding a touch of youthful innocence, while Amy looked gentle and beautiful, her expression shy.

One look and it was clear they were about sixteen or seventeen.

"Honey, was this taken in high school? You knew each other that early?" Lillian asked, glancing at the photo, with a hint of displeasure in her tone.

Alexander asked indifferently, "Which photo? Who did I know?"

"Amy. Is this her?" Lillian asked, holding up the photo.

Alexander turned to look, seemed to recall, and said, "It looks like it was taken in high school. I don't remember. Where did you find it?"

"It wasn't me, it fell out of a book," she said, holding up the book, a collection of essays.

"Honey? You read this book?" Lillian teased, putting the book back.

Alexander chuckled and continued organizing the books. "I don't read that one. Amy used to like it. If I remember correctly, she gave it to me."

Lillian pouted, showing her disdain.

"What about this photo? Why was it in the book?"

"I really can't remember. She probably put it there."

Lillian didn't care much and then found a stack of letters under the pile of unwanted books. She exclaimed, "Honey, are these your letters? When did you write these? They look ancient!"

Alexander closed his eyes for a moment, puzzled at how she always found random things. He had been organizing but hadn't seen any letters or photos, but she found them all.

He said, "Amy was obsessed with William Shakespeare and Franz Kafka for a while. After reading a few books, she started writing letters in their style, not just to me but to my sister, her brother, almost everyone."

"What did she write about? I don't need to ask about yours, I can guess. It must be love letters, right?" Lillian teased, looking at Alexander's back.
