Chapter 270 Beatrice's Jewelry Store Opened on a Rainy Day
On the opening day of the jewelry store, it started raining heavily early in the morning.
Beatrice was at home watching the heavy rain outside, pacing back and forth in frustration, and kept asking Blake, "When do you think this rain will stop?"
Nico said, "Beatrice, don't worry. Rain in the morning means the rest of the day will be sunny. By around ten, the rain will stop."
"Are you the weather forecast? Stop bothering me." Beatrice, frustrated by the bad weather, snapped.
Blake looked at his phone and said to her, "Mom, there's no use in rushing. It's going to rain all day."
"How did you check the weather before? Didn't it say it would be sunny?" Beatrice asked angrily.
Blake replied innocently, "Mom, how is this my fault? The weather forecast a few days ago did show it would be sunny today."
Beatrice sighed heavily, checked the time, and said, "Let's go. Bring a few more umbrellas to keep our guests from getting wet."
"I've already notified everyone. Shae has set up umbrellas in front of the store."
Nico gave Blake an annoyed look and followed them out.
In the elevator down to the underground garage, while Beatrice was on the phone, Nico warned Blake, "I warn you, stay away from Shae. I can see you light up whenever you talk about her."
Blake feigned confusion and asked, "What do you mean?"
"Don't play dumb with me. Don't think I can't see you're interested in Shae. Are you already tired of me now?" Nico asked coldly.
Blake frowned at her and then walked towards the car, saying, "What's wrong with you?"
Nico glared at him coldly, full of resentment.
At 10:50 AM, The heavy rain continued to pour, drenching the archway outside and the flower baskets brought by the guests, leaving the scene in complete disarray.
The store was packed with guests, making it very crowded. A temporary stage was set up in the front, and Shae, as the host, invited Beatrice to speak.
Blake had made the opening ceremony very grand, inviting social media influencers to livestream the event.
He sneaked over to Shae while Nico wasn't looking and asked, "How's the live stream going?"
Shae handed him her phone and said, "Very well. There are many viewers, and a lot of people are interested in seeing the jewelry."
Blake smiled with satisfaction and praised, "Ms. Anderson, you're impressive. This marketing idea was brilliant."
"Mr. Sinclair, it's my job," Shae said with a faint smile.
Blake asked, "How's your stomach after drinking a bit last night?"
"Drinking this much is nothing."
"After I dropped you off last night, I forgot to ask you. I couldn't sleep well all night because of it."
"Mr. Sinclair, you're overthinking."
Suddenly, Nico appeared out of nowhere, standing next to Blake, smiling and asking, "What are you two talking about? You seem so happy."
"Mrs. Sinclair, Mr. Sinclair and I were discussing work," Shae replied.
Blake asked, "Why did you come over?"
"I saw you here, so I came over. Am I interrupting you, honey?" Nico asked, giving Shae a meaningful look.
"No," Blake said impatiently, looking at the stage. "Just be quiet. Beatrice is speaking. Show him some respect."
Nico sneered and said through gritted teeth, "Did you forget you were just chatting with Shae?"
At that moment, Kevin walked in, followed by two staff members carrying flower baskets. Shae, with her keen eyesight, quickly noticed him and walked over.
"Kevin!" Shae smiled and called out his name, then glanced behind him and asked, "Did you come alone?"
Kevin politely replied, "Mr. Sinclair is busy and couldn't make it, so he sent me on his behalf."
He then asked, puzzled, "Ms. Anderson, were you also invited today?"
Shae smiled and said, "I'm not a guest. I work here. Blake hired me as the client manager."
Kevin said, "I see."
Blake walked over at this point, "Kevin, why didn't Alexander come? Is he still holding a grudge against me?"
"Mr. Blake Sinclair, you and Mr. Alexander Sinclair are blood brothers. He wouldn't hold a grudge against you. He's been busy with company matters and couldn't make it, so he sent me to congratulate you."
Blake laughed, "I was just joking. Mr. Martin, join us for lunch later."
"Thank you for the offer, but I still need to report back to Mr. Alexander Sinclair, so I can't stay long," Kevin said, nodding to both of them before turning to leave.
Shae had also thought that Alexander might not come today, but she still held a sliver of hope. Now that her hope was dashed, she couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.
Blake said, "I think it's better for you that Alexander didn't come. If he did, he wouldn't even look at you. Wouldn't that hurt you more? It's better not to see him."
He added, "Aren't I better than Alexander?"
Shae gave him a sneer and said sarcastically, "Your wife is also better than his wife." Then she turned and walked towards the front desk.
Blake touched his nose and muttered to himself, "Is she upset because I'm married?"
Kevin returned to "the Whale Group" and reported to Alexander, "Shae is now the client manager there. I don't know how she got in touch with Blake."
Alexander, looking at his documents, responded, "I see."
"If there's nothing else, I'll head out."
As he was busy working, Ethan called him and asked directly, "Alexander, did you go to the store opening today?"
"No," Alexander said flatly. "I shouldn't attend this opening ceremony."
Ethan instantly got angry, "Alexander, are you not taking my words seriously? Your grandfather announced that Blake is expelled from the Sinclair family, which effectively cuts off all his connections. If you don't help him now, are you trying to make me angry on purpose?"
"Dad, calm down. You said it yourself, Grandpa announced it. If I show up at the opening, wouldn't that embarrass Grandpa?"
"Don't give me those excuses. The media writes what you tell them to. I see, you just don't want to help. Fine, if you won't help, I'll go myself!" Ethan said, hanging up angrily.
Alexander smiled wryly and muttered to himself, "Dad, why are you still messing around at your age? If you anger Grandpa, you might get expelled from the Sinclair family too!"
Ethan changed his clothes and came downstairs. Samantha was sitting alone in the living room and asked curiously, "It's raining so heavily outside. Where are you going?"
"Beatrice's store is opening today. I'm going to check it out," Ethan said, adjusting his collar and heading towards the door.
