Chapter 226 Taylor's Dirty Trick

Angela lived in the southern part of the city. With fewer cars and clear roads at night, it took just over half an hour to get there.

Alexander dropped Lillian off at the door and reminded Angela, "I told you everything on the phone. Take good care of her. I'll pick her up in a few days."

"Honey, be careful on your way back," Lillian said, holding onto him. "Call me on video tomorrow morning. Keep me updated on Oscar."

"Don't worry about that," Alexander said, kissing her before leaving.

After hearing the elevator doors close, Lillian finally turned around and slowly entered the house.

"It's late. Freshen up and go to bed," Angela said, taking her to the bedroom and finding pajamas. "We'll sleep in the same room for the next few days."

"What's going on? You actually agreed to not go to the clinic and take care of me! You're not the type to give up work for me," Lillian asked, puzzled.

Angela pushed her towards the bathroom. "You're more important to me than work!"

"I don't believe it," Lillian said as she entered the bathroom.

Angela made the bed and muttered, "You're right not to believe it. Even I don't believe it! Alexander has something on me, and I have no choice but to comply!"

After getting into the car, Alexander said, "Head to the outskirts first."

Kevin drove to a factory on the outskirts, where the previous hit-and-run drivers and a trembling Taylor were waiting.

"Mr. Sinclair," Taylor said, her voice trembling even more as she noticed Alexander approaching with a stern expression.

Someone brought a chair, and Alexander sat across from her.

He crossed his legs and asked coldly, "What do you mean by hurting Lily? Are you asking for trouble?"

"Mr. Sinclair, this is a misunderstanding. I didn't hurt Lillian," Taylor stammered.

Alexander looked at her sternly. "You didn't hurt Lillian? So, this wasn't your idea? Who else was involved? Or who put you up to this?"

Having been by his side for so many years, Taylor knew he was furious. She didn't dare admit it was her idea. Since he asked, it meant he thought she couldn't have done it alone. She decided to take this chance to share the blame.

"Mr. Sinclair, would you believe me if I told you?" Taylor asked, looking innocent.

"Tell me who it is!" Alexander demanded.

"Shae!" Taylor said earnestly. "She told me to hire people to kidnap Lillian and get rid of her baby! She made me do all of this!"

If she admitted it was her own doing, Alexander wouldn't spare her. However, implicating Shae could lead to a lighter punishment for her, and Alexander might decide to let her go.

Alexander squinted, and his gaze became sharp. "Taylor, do you think blaming Shae will make me let you off?"

"Mr. Sinclair, I'm telling the truth!" Taylor insisted. "It was Shae who told me to do it. She even tried to recruit me to go against Ms. Hill earlier."

Alexander stayed silent, waiting for her to continue.

"She had me send the video to Ms. Hill with subtitles, saying if Ms. Hill were out of the picture, you could be with her. She did many things to trouble Lillian, aiming to get rid of Ms. Hill's baby!" Taylor finished, daring to glance at him.

Alexander's demeanor was icy, his gaze cold. "And why did you go along with her?"

Taylor replied, "I wanted to marry into a wealthy family, and she said she could help me. I couldn't resist the temptation, so I agreed."

Alexander remained expressionless, pondering for a moment before calling Kevin over.

Kevin said, "Mr. Sinclair."

He pointed to the hit-and-run drivers, "Take them to the police station."

"Ms. Reed," he said, looking at her with a chilling smile that made her shiver, "you wanted to marry into a wealthy family? Let her experience the life of the rich first. Send her to Aestrale to mine diamonds."

"No, Mr. Sinclair!" Taylor clung to his leg, begging. "Don't send me to Aestrale! I won't listen to Shae anymore. I'll leave Rihegde and never appear before you again. Please let me go."

Alexander kicked her away. "Don't act like you did nothing wrong! Not taking your life is already letting you off!"

Taylor shouted, "Mr. Sinclair, sending me to Aestrale is as good as killing me! I don't want to go there! It was all Shae's idea, and it has nothing to do with me!"

Kevin signaled for someone to drag Taylor to the car. Moments later, peace was restored.

"Mr. Sinclair, should we head back to the hospital now?" Kevin asked.

Alexander rubbed his forehead with one hand, eyes closed. "Notify HR to fire Shae and terminate all collaborations and investments with the Anderson family and their affiliates. Post online that I have no connection with Shae and don't know the Anderson family. Then go ahead and make a public announcement about my marriage to Lily."

Alexander doubted Taylor's words, but what couldn't be denied was the fact that these two had harmed Lily.

'Amy, I've done my best for Shae. I won't look after her anymore,' he thought to himself.

The next day, all Anderson family companies received termination contracts from the Whale Group. Early in the morning, Shae received a call from HR informing her of her dismissal. Before she could react, calls from her family members came flooding in.

After dealing with her elders, she quickly called Alexander, but it was redirected to Kevin.

"Ms. Anderson, Mr. Sinclair is unavailable to take your call," Kevin said.

"Why was I fired? Why terminate the collaboration with the Anderson family? Why is this happening suddenly?" Shae demanded, confused by the sudden orders.

"Sorry, Ms. Anderson. I'll relay your message," Kevin said politely before ending the call.

Shae glared at her phone. Suddenly, she saw a news headline: [Whale Group President Announces Marriage, Bride is His Secretary!]
